Until the assassin's figure disappeared into the other side of the door, the squad members stared silently in disbelief. They were amazed at the tenacity that she showed as she trudged forward without stopping in pursuit of her goal.

Trapp was hiding in a corner and he didn't make any moves at all as he silently watched everything before him. When Trapp and the scout arrived, the assassin and her pursuers were already at the decisive moment of their battle. The assassin had just condensed the giant apparition and used it to critically injure a few of her pursuers after catching them off guard. As the assassin was being pursued, most of the guards and soldiers on the bases had been sent to deal with her. They were ordered to capture her if possible and if not; they were instructed to kill her. While she was being chased, the number of enemies she had to deal with was much more than the twenty or so pursuers that were on her tail at the end. Most of the people who had gone to intercept the assassin had been killed by her after underestimating her. Their bodies were left to grow cold on the ground as the assassin ran away. Nobody stopped to take care of them and they were completely ignored.
Protogene Assimilation Time To Blow The Joint Up
A few of the guards were still awake when the squad members moved out to kill them. They were just severely injured and weak, so they couldn't move. When the squad members appeared, these guards wanted to resist, but they were badly wounded to do anything and ended up getting killed.Everything ended almost immediately. As soon as the squad members moved, they killed all the guards lying on the ground. Not many of them put up any resistance, and those that did were immediately dispatched before they could cause any trouble. After they were done, the place fell silent once again.Once everything was done, the leader nodded at the rest of the members and then took the lead and went to the open door. Standing in front of the door, the leader felt a sense of irony, like somebody was playing a joke on him and laughing at him behind his back. "Is it reinforcements?" Trapp asked himself."No, it doesn't look like it is...""Why do these people look very familiar?" Trapp looked at the approaching group and asked himself.When Trapp wanted to follow the previous squad through the door and towards the control room, he suddenly stopped short because he noticed movement coming from one of the corridors in the hall.To be more accurate, Trapp had not yet seen them but because his senses were extended to a great distance away from him, which was how he monitored his surroundings, Trapp could already hear that people were coming before they even arrived. That is why he went back into hiding.Trapp decided to wait and see who was approaching before deciding on what to do. Right before Trapp's eye, the second squad was forced to enter the door leading to the control room by the reinforcements. At this point, the squad was in a very sorry state...Previously, they had already suffered some injuries before, when they had been captured after Trapp's earlier rampage. although they managed to recover a little, they were currently much worse off than when Trapp had last seen them.The squad seemed to have suffered some casualties, as they were missing a few members. The original squad of about twenty members was now down to less than fifteen, and these members were in an incredibly bad state.Out of all of them, the leader's situation was the worst as one of his shoulders was missing an arm and there was only a stump that was roughly bandaged and soaked red in blood. Trapp looked everywhere but could not find any trace of the scout anywhere. Out of all the people that had come here, the scout was the only one missing. It was like he hadn't been here at all.Trapp was surprised to discover this. He knew for certain that the scout had followed the assassin in, so there was no way he wouldn't be here. They could only be one reason why Trapp could not find the scout anywhere... that is, he had already moved on to a different area.The layout of the control room was not as complicated as the other sections in the base. There were only a few branching corridors that led to different holding areas, like the living quarters of the crew in the control room and the guard's station. Apart from these, there was only one path that led to the main control room and that was the path that Trapp had followed the other through.Currently, the battle was taking place in a hall that was much like the one that they had all just come through.

Trapp didn't waste any time after killing the first guard. He immediately moved to the next person closest to him after dropping the guard silently on the ground.With swift strikes, Trapp quickly dispatched the second and moved on to the third. With Trapp joining the battle, the situation that was originally going badly for the invaders suddenly got turned around on its head and the invaders started getting the upper hand.After Trapp messed up the formation of the reinforcements and the two squads joined him in completely breaking it apart, they were able to take down countless guards in the reinforcements in a short time. Seeing that the situation on this side had stabled, Trapp did not continue attacking. Instead, he shot towards the other side of the battle where the assassin was in a confrontation with the elite guards of the control room.Trapp was aware that this was the most critical part of this battle and whether the invaders would be able to fight against the defenders depended on if the assassin was able to hold on and not be defeated. As soon as the last elite guard fell, the battle on Trapp's and the assassin's side came to an end. There was only one on the side of the two squads that were left, but it might take some time before the two squads finished all the guards in the reinforcements off. For a short time after that, the invading side would have some time to rest, as it was unlikely that any more reinforcements would appear in a short time.Trapp and the assassin did not go over to help the two squads deal with the remaining reinforcements. instead, after killing all the elite guards, the two of them faced off against each other in confrontation.The assassin had yet to dismiss her giant apparition, and she was covered in it like a mighty general as she faced Trapp.The assassin was very wary of Trapp because he had appeared very mysteriously and suddenly without her sensing anything at all.
