REBORN AS A HYBRID

THE AMBUSH

John and Sabrina had left the building which the meeting was holding in and they were both heading back home. The Journey was a silent one. John peeked a little to his right to see if Sabrina was still mad but he realized that she was really still mad as her face showed her rage. John quickly turned his eyes away from Sabrina because he never wanted to know what will happen if his eyes met with that of Sabrina.

' Boy, now she is like a wounded lion.' John thought to himself.

' Say something, will you leave her that way?' Cassian asked.

' And what will I tell her?' John asked.

' Tell her you are sorry.' Cassian replied.

' Don't you think I should wait until she calms down?' John asked.

' That is also right, but what if she wants you to say something?' Cassian asked.

" What were you thinking?" John and Cassian's discussion was interrupted when they heard Sabrina's voice.

" Why did you follow me?" She asked.

" Look I am sorry okay, I just saw you leaving the house at night, heading somewhere, so because of curiosity I followed you. That is what everyone will do." John defended himself.

Sabrina was quiet for sometime and it looked like her anger was settling down.

" Wait how did you get in, there is a password to the entrance of the underground hall." Sabrina asked.

" Uh.. about that I saw you solve the puzzle and I did my best to memorize it." John lied.

" Wow then you must really have a good memory recall." Sabrina replied and this time her voice never sounded like she was still angry. And once more her beautiful smile was returning, making John's heart to beat faster.

' Damn she is so pretty, how can a beauty like her have such a miserable life living on the street?  What happened to her parents?' John asked himself.

" Sabrina," John called.

" yes," Sabrina replied.

" I wish to ask what that meeting was all about. I heard them talking about a great hero." John asked.

" Well about that, it's a  secret gathering, but it is not a secret to you anymore. Since Drexeler, the Owner of the Drexeler Company which produces magic weapons became the Grand Elder of Paradise City,  he had placed strict rules on Hybrids. 

For example Hybrids are not supposed to marry a pure breed, be it a vampire, a wolf or a human. We are only meant to reproduce only with Hybrids and are not allowed to reproduce more than one child.

Even when it comes to trading, people have taken advantage of the strict rules to cheat Hybrids. They will set an unfairly higher price for common products as compared to how they sell to pure breeds.

So the leader of The NTR, Simon, formed the No To Racism ascociation in order to start a riot one day. He wants us to grow in number so that one day we can stand against the Drexeler regime. 

Some Hybrids have decided to live down there and reproduce more than one child.

Down there, we Hybrids feel free.

As for the Great Hero Cassian, He was the first Hybrid ever to be born. and it was like five hundred years ago. He was the son of the vampire prince and the wolf princess.

They left their kingdoms to settle here among humans, when they leant about their soon to be born child. Because back then, the Vampires and Wolves were sworn enemies, and were not allowed to mate with each other, they had no choice but to leave their Kingdoms.

 But the Vampires and Wolves some how learnt of their secret, then they hunted them down and executed them as according to the law.

But what shocked everyone to this day is that the body of Cassian was never found. instead in his coffin was a little kettle. The Vampires threw it away in the sea. But today modern scientist have a theory that the kettle contained a genie and Cassian must have made a wish to live. Meaning they didn't succeeded to kill him. The only problem now is where he could be. " Sabrina explained.

' It's been five hundred years since I died?' Cassian asked.

' That must be a very long time ago right?' John asked

' Yes I never thought that when I would make the wish to be Reborn, it would be fulfilled five hundred years later. I am sure those who killed my parents are already death.' Cassian replied.

' Wait, if that incident happened five hundred years ago, then how did the assassins have magic crystal fused weapons? from what I learned in school, magic fused weapons became popular only two hundred years ago when demons started showing up around the city, no weapons could kill them, then Drexeler introduced the magic crystal fused weapons that could kill them.' John said.

' So this means Drexeler had something to do with the supply of magic fused weapons to those assassins.' Cassian remarked.

Sabrina noticed that after saying her story John had been quiet.

" What are you thinking?" She asked.

" I am just thinking about what you said. I wish to ask you a question." John Replied

" Go ahead," Sabrina said.

" Do you happen to know the history of Mr Drexeler, like who he was five hundred years ago?" John asked.

" He was the the most trusted servant to the vampire prince." Sabrina replied.

' The most trusted servant of my father? Now that makes sense. Since he was the most trusted servant, he must have known my father's secret and betrayed him by giving away his secret, then he went ahead to supply magic weapons to ease the operation of killing my parents.'  Cassian said as realization hit him. 

" How do you know so much about him? Because it is not a general information that Drexeler was the most trusted servant of the vampire prince." John asked.

" Oh it's just because I carry out research a lot." Sabrina replied.

' Why would she carry out research about Drexeler?' John asked himself.

" Since you know so much about him, have you ever known where the first magic crystal fused weapon came from? I mean a weapon must be fused with the crystal core of a demon before it could kill a demon.

Then where was the first crystal gotten from before demons were killed to acquired to acquire more crystals?" John asked.

" Actually I have never thought of that." Sabrina replied as she started brain storming about the question. 

Just then the bushes around started rattling and a group of people wearing masks jumped out of the bushes and sorrounded John and Sabrina.

" They are just kids, hihihi this will be easy" One of the men in mask said.

From their scents they were all wolves.

" Aaugh road side bandits," Sabrina said.

" Now little boy and girl, what are you two love birds doing out here all alone in the night? You should be home sleeping. But if you wish to get home safely, just do as we ask. All you have to do is drop down all the valuables you have and leave, we won't hurt you." The one who looked to be the leader of the gang spoke up.

" We have nothing of value even if we did you won't lay your hands on it." Sabrina said.

The bandits laughed hard at what she said.

" Is that so?" The leader said as he kept moving closer to John and Sabrina, then he stopped infront of them.

 He looked at John and said " Give that to me boy," He said pointing at John's chest.

When John looked at his chest, he saw that the chain containing the red crystal was not inside of his dress, it must have accidentally slipped out.

" You can't have this chain even if it means my life is at stake." John replied.

" Then you leave me no choice." The assassin leader said as his gauntlets started glowing.
