CONFESSION

"Will you speak now?" Cade asked as he saw the man shaking from the fear of being tortured.

"I will," the man said reluctantly, even though he was visibly shaking. Cade's security staff watched with satisfaction from seeing the initially hardened man shaking like a leaf falling from a tree.

"Good. Who sent you?"

The man hesitated despite his initial acquiescence.

"I said who sent you?" Cade bellowed again.

"Mr Alex Milton."

Cade was surprised. Then he mentally berated himself for being surprised at all. He should have been expecting this. But it had been months since Alex gave him any trouble, so he sort of forgot about the malicious intentions Alex had in mind. To him, Alex was so insignificant that he never felt threatened by the boy and his mother. It seems the two of them wanted him to remember them again and come after them. Instead of them being grateful that he had forgotten about them and live their lives in peace, they were trying to stir up trouble.
