Cade woke up very early the next day. He had gotten enough sleep from last night, and had a lot to do today. He sat up on his bed with his back propped up against his pillow and in his head, he began to enumerate his activities for the day. He ate slowly now, trying to force the food down his throat because though he was still hungry, his appetite was messed up by his suspicions. It was the end of the week and Cade was almost done looking into the records that Gale brought from the company. The file was large, but not as enormous as he had expected since Milton Conglomerate had a lot of employees. Gale had gone through the trouble of editing the files to include only the most important details so it wouldn’t be too bulky. It took him the last three days of the week to finish looking into them all. He found some loopholes, but they were mainly just due to laxity and carelessness. In most of the departments' records, he found that the staff were quite underpaid and he attributed that to either the loss of money due to the lawsuits in the past or negligence on the part of the human resource manager. While the pay was still quite high, he could see that it reduced as the years passed. He would have to do something about that. Just as Cade had expected, Gale was furious when he learnt that Cade had spent the night at his mother’s place. They still weren’t sure if Alex and his mother had spies among the Milton mansion’s staff. Gale was still in the process of vetting them all which was why Cade always had to come disguised even for a brief meeting with his mother. And spending the night with her was dangerous, it would be very suspicious for a delivery guy to stay over and not leave till the next morning. But they thought of a solution. Cade’s mother had to pretend like he was sick and so she cared for him throughout the night instead of sending him home where he lived alone. It was Cade's third week since his return now. His work outs had begun to pay off little by little. He could now lift the weights without feeling as much pain in his joints as he used to feel. His martial arts training has also been going well so far. Since Cade learnt how to interact with his instructor, it had been going pretty well for him. He took the training seriously and dedicated two hours after his classes every day to practicing what he learnt. Now, he was excellent at the little he knew, and his instructor was proud of him. Even though Ralph Park would never say anything more than 'good job' to Cade, he was really impressed at his student's progress. Gale on his own part, was occupied with so much work than he had been since Cade's arrival. The board had met a few times this week to deliberate on when to put Alex to the test, and had concluded it would be on the Thursday of the following week. Cade's camera set finally arrived, as well as the electric cake mixer that he ordered for his mother. The camera came with a full kit, and all they had to do was figure out a way to hire a technician to set it up without anyone getting suspicious. The technology of the camera was set up such that it could be connected to a computer of the person who intended to use it for monitoring an event or a place so viewing would not be a problem for Cade as long as it’s set up properly the first time.Gale was off for the weekend, so Cade did not bother asking him to come get the camera set. The day for Alex to present all that he had learnt in the past three years to the board had come. The board members sat in the boardroom, unaware of the cameras taking record of all they were doing, while they waited for Alex's arrival. They had gotten accustomed to his style of coming late to any meeting he had with the board. In an hour or so, he would be with them so they conversed among themselves.
