The tourist centre was a big surprise for Raegan. She had never been there, so she did not know that that was where Cade was taking her until they got there. On the way, Cade stopped some metres away from the location to blind fold Raegan. She found this little action quite funny, but she played along. After he had blindfolded her, he continued driving till they got to the place. Then he stopped right in front of the gate and removed the blindfold from her eyes. "Look," he said to her. She looked at the gate, then at the logo just above the gate. She was shocked and she squealed excitedly as she realised where they were.Cade smiled at her. "You're welcome."She could not wait to see how amazing the place would be, what beauty it had in store for her visitors. Cade and Gale had done quite a good job at preparing the place for the event of surprising Raegan. They had spoken with the owners of the centre, and with the help of Cade's money, he was able to book the place so no one else
As he walked out, Maxwell remembered his relationship with Raegan. As always, it was a result of the match making from the president. Maxwell was a son of a politician, and the president thought it would be nice if his daughter was well acquainted with his friend's son. But under that guise of acquaintance, what the president really wanted was for his daughter to be romantically affiliated with his friend's son, because he thought it would help with his political career. Maxwell and Raegan's relationship had lasted for quite a long time. The duo dated themselves for a little more than three years, and broke up only the previous year, before Raegan met Cade at the graveyard that day. When Raegan and Maxwell met initially, they did not quite get along with each other. Raegan hated to see Maxwell so eager to be around her because she was used to men only wanting her so they could get close to the president, and Maxwell disliked Raegan because he thought that she thought too highly of he
Maxwell spent the rest of his day afterwards, stewing in the anger that even he knew was unreasonable. He did not ever want to see Raegan with another man that was not him, even though they had been broken up for two years now. And it wasn't because he loved her, he just didn't want her to be happy when he wasn't happy or in a relationship. He was more angry at Cade than he was at Raegan. It was as though Cade had beat him to the game of being the only person Raegan was so much in love with.He knew that Cade was the owner of the Milton Conglomerate and that it would be hard to hurt Cade as much as he badly ached to do. But he wanted to hurt Raegan. As if cheating on her was not enough for him. Hurting Cade will hurt Raegan and maybe when she was heartbroken, she would run back to his arms again. As he lay on his bed, his hands behind his head, he devised a plan to carry out his malicious intentions on his unsuspecting and innocent ex-lover whose only crime was to unknowingly show he
Cade stood up and made to move. The president and his daughter followed behind him. Outside the apartment, Raegan's father insisted vehemently that Cade followed them in the presidential vehicle that was flooded with bodyguards. Cade could fight for himself and he knew he did not need so ,uch extra protection, but the president was insistent. He was coming with them, and that was final so they should just join him at once.Cade finally caved in and got in with the president and Raegan. The president always wore a bulletproof vest and now he was thinking of getting some customized for Raegan. The drive to the Milton Conglomerate took them approximately forty minutes. The first car to arrive at the company's premises was filled with bodyguards, followed by the one that housed Cade, Raegan and the president, then behind them was the final one also filled with bodyguards. The bodyguards in the first car got down and arranged themselves in a pattern before Cade, Raegan and her father cam
The next day, Maxwell walked into the company building, smiling at the receptionist. He looked devilishly handsome in the tuxedo that he wore, so that the receptionist got hot just from looking at him. He knew he had an effect on her and she wasn’t the only one. Other women stared at him with awe or longing as he walked past them and it made him smile proudly. He knew that he was such a handsome and irresistible man, and it warmed his stomach each time he saw a woman getting all hot and flushed from just looking at him. How could Raegan resist him when he looked like this? How dare she abandon him and go with another man when so many other women wanted him? To Maxwell, she should be grateful that he even wanted her. He brought his wrist to his face to look at the time, but what he was actually doing was showing off his expensive wristwatch that was now glittering under the sunlight that casted rays through a window in the reception. "How may I help you sir?" The receptionist said. M
"Go on," Cade said. He clasped his palms under his chin as he waited for Maxwell to talk about his proposal. Maxwell brought a file from his briefcase, and cleared his throat before he began. "After a careful and thorough research made by myself on the merchandise of the Milton Conglomerate, I found that the Milton Conglomerate lacks in the area of food catering supplies. Given that this is an all round merchandise company, I think that the unavailability of that aspect in the company is a huge loophole that would cause a setback or missed opportunities for the company. While the Milton Conglomerate has proven to grow without the need to have this as a part of their merchandise, I can prove to you from my research that the Milton Conglomerate has missed a few, if not more opportunities, for this. Given the influence and brand name, which includes integrity, trust, worthiness and good customer service, that the company has gotten for itself, I'm very sure that people will not hesitat
Raegan cursed underneath her breath and Cade turned to face her. "What's wrong, baby?" Cade asked. He looked at where she was looking, but did not see why Raegan should shout. It was just her father greeting people and he did not see anything that warranted Reagan's cursing. "Nothing, I just felt a slight pain in my back," Raegan lied. Cade did not believe her. How did a slight pain cause one to say cuss words, while looking in a particular direction? "Really?" He asked. Raegan looked at him and sighed. She did not want to tell him that she had just seen her ex boyfriend exchanging pleasantries with her father at her own birthday party where her father was supposed to be courteous enough not to invite an ex that cheated on her. She decided to come up with a better lie. She didn’t want to tell Cade about Maxwell, she just wanted to forget that Maxwell even exists. "I just saw my dad welcome more friends. It's upsetting because this is supposed to be about me, but nobody has wish
They both stayed at the party for a few more minutes before leaving to avoid looking rude. Then they spent the rest of the evening in her room. When Cade arrived at work, he realised that he had forgotten to inform Raegan of the man's business proposal of a partnership while he was at the party with her. Though, in his defence, it was her birthday so it wasn't appropriate for him to be bringing up business talk. He looked at the proposal brought by Maxwell once again, impressed at what he saw after his project team had done some research and submitted their analysis. He closed the file and called for his secretary, using the landline on his table. "Yes, sir?" The secretary answered. "Contact Mr Maxwell Jordan, requesting his audience. I need to be in a meeting with him by tomorrow.""Yes, sir, but your schedule for tomorrow is quite busy, as you have a meeting with the Ericssons tomorrow, concerning the new project." His secretary reminded."That will take most of the morning hours
