Cade's role as CEO had begun to play out, and in less than a month of assuming his office again, he had slowly begun to bring the Milton Conglomerate back to the normalcy it had before his absence. The news of his arrival back at the company made some of the stockholders who had pulled out of the company come back to invest in the company. They knew that Cade was an excellent CEO and would lead the Milton Conglomerate well, which will in turn help their stocks be safe with the company. However, a few who thought it was late did not come back. But Cade knew what to do, and after a month, they had come running back, and new stockholders partnered with the Milton Conglomerate. What Cade did was increase the profits of the stockholders as a bait; when they thought of how much profits they would count, they came back to the company. Most of them bought more shares and held more stock with the company than they did before. At a certain percentage, the profit levels stop increasing and stay
Chaos was beginning to take over the Bellwether family. The news of the Dennis they knew and maltreated now being a CEO to one of the most influential companies in the country made them all surprised and afraid. Their fear stemmed from the sheer disobedience that they had carried out against their Papa's will. Before Papa died, he had willed all his wealth to Cade, who was known as Dennis to the Bellwethers, but Papa's children had refused to give their father's wealth to Dennis. Papa had entrusted his will to the hands of a very close lawyer friend of his, but somehow, his children had found a way to manipulate the will to their own favor. Papa's first son, had found a way to steal the will from Papa's lawyer and made a fake copy of Papa's will while he kept the original copy to himself, because he knew that Papa's lawyer would refuse a bribe. Now, they were afraid that Cade would come to know of this mischief that was carried out by them. They were all in this crime. What would happe
Alex thumped his hands against the table again. He had been thumping it for a while now. He was angry. He had been angry ever since Cade's appearance at his supposed inauguration that turned to Cade's. Now, someone who had been completely forgotten had found a way to come back and ruin things for him. Alex stood in the study of his father's mansion, hands akimbo as he mumbled some words to himself, and hit the table again when he could not contain the anger and pain that was coursing through him. So many things about Cade's appearance at the boardroom annoyed him, but what annoyed him the most was Cade's talk about his presentation. Cade really called him out in front of the board members and people who had been streaming the live event. What triggered Alex's anger this much, was that the highlight on the news of the event, was Cade's talk on his presentation. It made quite the rounds even on social media platforms. It was a buzz, and this upset Alex so much. He was the center of at
Cade met with Gale to tell Gale of his visit to MRs Robert’s house.“I’m surprised she agreed to speak to you. She has been hostile to every other member of the company who tried to visit her.” Gale said.“She knows that they only come to see her not because they sympathise with her, but because they want to save face. They don’t really care about her husband’s death or her grief. Besides, I didn’t question her much, I just wanted to confirm if Mr Roberts and Alex had a relationship outside work. I didn’t want to overstay my welcome and make the woman start remembering her grief.” Cade replied.“So what did she say?” “Like I suspected, Alex visited Mr Roberts a lot in his home. She said it seemed like they had some business dealings together and they had altercations sometimes but her husband always made excuses that it wasn’t really serious.”“Mr Roberts was never a fan of Alex, so why did they suddenly get so close? It seems like he was hiding something.”“I thought so too, and wha
The men got to a hidden old building somewhere deep in a place Gale did not know or recognize. In the building, the men threw Gale into a room that could pass for a cellar. It was dark and misty in the room, but it got better when one of the men switched on the light in the room. Gale could see there was a small mattress on the floor and a pillow that Gale found disgusting on it. But that was all that the room had. It only got better for Gale because somehow, the light on managed to take his mind off the mist and cold of the room. Gale made up his mind not to put as much as an inch of his body on that horrible looking mattress. He would rather stay awake all night in his tiredness. Who knows what kind of germs were on that filthy thing. After the men had shown him to the room, they seized Gale's phone, locked him in the room and left him alone in the building. It was the worst day of Gale's life so far. Not only was he starving, he was kidnapped and kept in a room where even a pauper
Cade continued his work after thinking of a plan to bring Gale's abductors to book. He had to find a way to set his plan in motion for the next day. What had he planned to do? Firstly, he tracked Gale's phone with the last call he got, and found out the location. He wondered why the abductors were so clumsy as to letting Gale call him with his own phone. They must be amateurs or they were just so confident that they wouldn’t get caught so they didn’t bother taking precautions. Secondly, he got the ransom ready. They wanted the ransom to be brought to them physically. It was stressful and caused his banker to raise his brows, but Cade commanded the withdrawal of the amount that the abductors had asked him to bring and no one could argue with him. Thirdly, Cade made up his mind to be there in the morning. It was all too easy to come up with now that he had the location of the place. He would go there without calling the men and let things progress from there. He had thought of the p
Cade waited until he saw a van driving out of the side of the building with men who were on their way to meet him at the place where he was supposed to meet him at the place they told him to drop off the money. He had the money with him hidden somewhere close by as a plan B, so if his rescue plan failed, he would use the money to try and pay them off to set him and Gale free. The van had passed through a hidden road in another direction that Cade guessed led to the highway. From the highway, no one would ever know that the road exists which was why his cab driver couldn’t drive into the forest. He waited for a few minutes to be sure that they had gone before getting up from his hidden position. He was about to storm into the house with his men when he saw another car driving towards the house from the same road so he signalled his men to wait and watch. He was surprised to see Alex get down from the car. His surprise wasn’t because Alex was involved in the kidnapping, he had already g
The incident of Gale's kidnap made Cade double him and Gale's security. He hired new bodyguards for Gale by himself, while he retained the old bodyguards he had for himself, and recruited new ones in addition to the bodyguards he had. The bruises he got from the rescue operation took a while to heal. Gale had been taken to a hospital and was admitted for about a week because he was extremely dehydrated. But he resumed working after three weeks of mandatory house arrest given to him by Cade. If it was up to Gale, the man would have resumed work immediately after being discharged from the hospital because Gale wasn’t used to being idle. Cade had to force him to remain at home and recuperate. Gale was well rested now, and had recovered from the incident. He was also more careful now, and would go nowhere without his bodyguards. One could tell that Gale had not totally recovered from the incident, mentally. But with time, he told himself he would. He didn’t want to live in fear for his e
