Alex thumped his hands against the table again. He had been thumping it for a while now. He was angry. The men got to a hidden old building somewhere deep in a place Gale did not know or recognize. In the building, the men threw Gale into a room that could pass for a cellar. It was dark and misty in the room, but it got better when one of the men switched on the light in the room. Gale could see there was a small mattress on the floor and a pillow that Gale found disgusting on it. But that was all that the room had. It only got better for Gale because somehow, the light on managed to take his mind off the mist and cold of the room. Gale made up his mind not to put as much as an inch of his body on that horrible looking mattress. He would rather stay awake all night in his tiredness. Cade continued his work after thinking of a plan to bring Gale's abductors to book. He had to find a way to set his plan in motion for the next day. What had he planned to do? Firstly, he tracked Gale's phone with the last call he got, and found out the location. He wondered why the abductors were so clumsy as to letting Gale call him with his own phone. They must be amateurs or they were just so confident that they wouldn’t get caught so they didn’t bother taking precautions. Secondly, he got the ransom ready. They wanted the ransom to be brought to them physically. It was stressful and caused his banker to raise his brows, but Cade commanded the withdrawal of the amount that the abductors had asked him to bring and no one could argue with him. Carlson was still in shock when he returned to his dorm room. He had no idea what to do and for a moment, he began to regret why he told Leighton to stay behind. Hours and hours later, after the procedure was complete, Cade opened his eyes again. The Doctor allowed only Raegan to go in to see him. When he made an attempt to sneeze, Raegan ran to his side as though to stop whatever pain his sneezing might cause him. He wasn’t strong enough to receive plenty of visitors yet.
