Cade finally spoke up. He had gotten the reaction he wanted, to his satisfaction. He had seen the unmistakable surprise in Alex's eyes. Had seen Alex’s mother pass out in front of everyone. Had heard his father call out his name as though he were unsure of Cade's existence. He also had a good time watching the board members wonder aloud and in surprise. He was not the only one that was pleased by the reaction, even Gale could hardly keep a straight face at this time. "Gentlemen." Cade began. "Please can we be calm?" It was almost physically impossible for the men to calm down. As for Cassandra, she obviously could not, because she still had an awestruck look on her face. "I will tell you all about everything now," he said. He looked around, noting that his call had been effective. The men were calm now and listening expectantly. Cade gestured to Gale who understood and went to sit somewhere in the room. Then Cade kept his glasses on the table in the room and began his narration.

“You can’t make demands like that. Alex thumped his hands against the table again. He had been thumping it for a while now. He was angry. The men got to a hidden old building somewhere deep in a place Gale did not know or recognize. In the building, the men threw Gale into a room that could pass for a cellar. It was dark and misty in the room, but it got better when one of the men switched on the light in the room. Gale could see there was a small mattress on the floor and a pillow that Gale found disgusting on it. But that was all that the room had. It only got better for Gale because somehow, the light on managed to take his mind off the mist and cold of the room. Gale made up his mind not to put as much as an inch of his body on that horrible looking mattress. He would rather stay awake all night in his tiredness. Firstly, he tracked Gale's phone with the last call he got, and found out the location. He wondered why the abductors were so clumsy as to letting Gale call him with his own phone. They must be amateurs or they were just so confident that they wouldn’t get caught so they didn’t bother taking precautions. Secondly, he got the ransom ready. They wanted the ransom to be brought to them physically. It was stressful and caused his banker to raise his brows, but Cade commanded the withdrawal of the amount that the abductors had asked him to bring and no one could argue with him.
