Grandpa Richalnd was sitting in his lavish living room in an armchair, sipping on the glass of whiskey he had in his hand as he watched the evening news on the large flat screen television mounted on the wall.The room was beautified with opulent furnishing and expensive artwork, which showed how wealthy and powerful the Richland family was. Cage could feel his gut churn as he waited for the detective to say it. He heard the man take a long sigh, as if preparing to drop the most unbelievable news he had ever heard and that made him even more impatient. "Are you not going to say anything?" He asked, hearing the line crack. He could feel his heart pounding yet again, eager to hear the latest development in the ongoing investigation. He was happy, at least, to hear that they had struck some luck. Before now, they hadn't been able to do anything other than hitting and missing. They both waited and after a little while, the doctor returned to the room. He had suggested she stayed till the next morning but Cage already wanted to leave and go back home with her. It was shocking to say the least, that they hadn't gone back to their house since their wedding. The doctor was left with no other option than to acquiesce to their request since letting her leave wouldn't be too bad. Getting home he opened the door for her and lifted her. Cage was filled with trepidation as he walked into the building. He was unsure of what to find out about his grandfather's involvement in the evil plot against him. He wondered if the detective really had very concrete evidence against him or if it was just a pointer. If it was the former then that would be very shocking, indeed more shocking than he had felt the first time he was told about it. The officers greeted him as he walked in with a smile on his face, trying to keep out the trepidation he had his heart hammering. He was met by the detective outside. The detective's face lit the moment he saw Cage. "Hey, Cage," the detective greeted him, gesturing for him to follow him. "Thanks for coming in." He nodded, as he felt his heart beat even faster. "I need to know the truth." His voice was trembling with emotion. "Whatever it is, I can handle it." The detective smiled again before he walked Cage into the small interrogation room. When Cage walked into the reliving room that evening, he felt utterly empty because he had no idea if she was going to ask him what they had discussed over there and if he would be forced to tell her everything that had just happened. He also remembered that he had forgotten to ask the detective which other member of the family was involved in the whole scheme. He hoped he would find out soon enough, after Grandpa Richland had been apprehended and taken care of. He still found it very hard to believe the old man would ever have any hand in the problems he was facing. It was just unbelievable, utterly disturbing but there was nothing he could change about it. It had happened, and everyone who took part would surely suffer the consequences of their evil acts. He had already devised a plan on how they would be able to catch the old man and expose him in front of everyone before taking him to the cell to face the law after that. "You look like it's very, very bad." She sighed, dissipating the tension that had been building up since. He shook his head slightly and nodded back at her. She nodded and allowed him to get himself back before he spoke again. He was still unsure of how to broach the topic delicately but at the end, he decided to just do it and not think about how it could feel, even though that was important. "I... I think the person involved is Grandpa Richland. Yes, he's the one involved in the attempts on our lives." He finally confessed and laid back on his seat. She gave him a very confused look. It wasn't the shock he was expecting. She scoffed incredulously as if she found it funny. "What?" She asked, and there was pure disbelief in the tone of her voice. "There is no way you're seriously saying that." She told him, shaking her head before asking. "Do you have any idea what you just said?" She asked again. Cage nodded, knowing it would come to this. Now he had to take care of it himself.

Later that evening, he tucked Chloe into bed, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead as he whispered a soft goodnight and turned off the lights. He waited until he suspected she had fallen asleep before he gently moved away from her to think.He was happy that he had made her feel better, to say the least. Yes, she was still worried about this new discovery but telling her that someone else might be behind the whole thing had calmed her down."What are you thinking about?" He was startled when he heard her voice behind her. But he calmed himself and turned back towards her with a smile."I'm equally worried, Chloe." He said tersely before staring away into the distance. She curled up beside him and straightened herself beside him before taking his hand and staring in his eyes."Now, you're getting me really nervous. The next morning, Cage got a call from Grandpa Richland to inform him that the date for Rochelle's trial was today and would be happy if he went on to represent the family because he wouldn't be going. There was a tinge of disappointment in his voice as he spoke about Rochelle, which wasn't surprising at all. There was no way he would have sounded happy talking about someone who wanted to kill her only sister and her husband. But despite that, Cage knew was still pretending to have no hand in it, but he knew the old man would be apprehended soon. He thanked Grandpa Richland and ended the call, letting him know that he will check his schedule and see if he can meet up. As soon as he ended the call, he knew he had to let Chloe know. She was still on the bed when he entered. Her eyes were wide open but it seemed she didn't want to get out of bed yet. "Hey." Cage called out softly before he sat beside her on the bed.
