Chapter 5

At William’s villa, Kate and Sophia were left talking and getting to know each other. Kate had given herself the name Sky to conceal her identity. This was the name she used in all her endeavors and the name she gave to Sophia. As soon as they were done with the introduction part, Sky decided to share some of what had brought her to her brother’s home.

Being a very good hacker, Sky had discovered a dangerous plot as she was doing her normal perambulations online. The Donalds, one of William’s enemies and, wealthy and powerful families and that were the greatest refiners and distributers of oil in Credonia had a canning plan to increase their wealth.

She explained it to Sophia in details and how she was looking forward to get her brothers’ hand and work together to stop the evil plan. Sophia too had something to share as well. She had gone through much trouble since the day she saved William and Kate.

Besides her helper, she had not another close person that she could share the story to. At that moment, she had someone close and ready to listen. She opened up and narrated some of the story to Sky. It was at that time that Sky realized that she was their childhood friend and the girl that saved her and her brother 9 years ago and was badly hurt on the process. Be that as it may, she just kept it to herself and awaited her brother for a further discussion on how he found her.

Ruth’s effort to figure out who the warlord really was became fruitful. Her worries were ascertained when she found out that the warlord was none other but her step-son, William. On top of this, she also came to the discovery that Sophia was the girl that saved and rescued William and Kate 9 years ago.

This discovery went forth to trigger a short memory of the explosion and annihilation of William’s family back then. In the short and shallow memory, she only saw her and her business partner having a discussion from a distance when the explosion happened.

They both quitted their dialogue to witness the incident. As they watched, they both saw some three young people running away from the crumbling and burning building. At the distance they were, they could not properly distinguish who the people were but they could tell there were two female and one male. Shortly, as the ravage increased, one of the ladies was stumbled and hurt badly by falling debris.

The two others left and fled in fear of being hurt as well and left the third one behind. Ruth’s together with her business partner’s curiosity could not let them be. They both decided to go and check for themself. It was then that they identified the injured as Sophia and the escapees as William and Kate.

On top of all that, she was also let know of William’s visit to the JMK Corporation and their meeting. At that moment, she knew something big was cooking and William had a serious mission that not only needed influence but affluence as well.

At the time, William was already arriving at the land owner’s compound. On seeing the two limos park at his home, the farmer prepared and armed himself. With the civil war that was going on around the country, the farmer could not take any chances. He had already witnessed several of his colleagues being snatched off their land and some of them even murdered. He never could want to take any chances.

In fact, the brutality in the land deals had made the farmer change his mind about their earlier agreement with Nicholas, William’s right hand man. William and his men alighted from the limos to go see him in his house. The farmer, now armed and ready for anything, walked out of the house as well.

He never could take any chances of meeting the so thought stranger and enemy in his house. That could be a bad omen because he could not have many exits in case things went haywire. Upon observing the stranger closely, he still could not identify him.

Just as about he was to aim his weapon towards them, William opened and showed him an image of a man from his phone. He was the only man the farmer knew and could relate to. It was none other but Nicholas. He was the one William had sent to the farmer previously for the land deal. The farmer lowered his armor and welcomed them although still tensed.

William then went ahead to introduce himself to the farmer as Nicholas’s boss and the real interested buyer of his farm. By then, the tension in the room had lowered and the farmer got comfortable. He explained to William that, the civil war and fear for losing his farm was the reason he had to decline the offer and guard it so tensely.

They went on to have the negotiations but, it did not go as William had hoped for completely. The farmer did not decline the offer to sell his land to William though. He only told William that he was to think about it and get back to him as soon as he was ready. Depending on the haste that was in the construction of the airstrip, the farmer’s idea was no good news.

William knew that the farmer could take a lot more time and the chances of his enemies finding out about it had just increased. Though a powerful and feared warlord, he had nothing more to do. Violence was the last thing he could show the farmer to have the farmer go his way. Besides, ending the civil war in his country was among his return agendas.

Forcing the farmer to do his will was definitely not one of the things in support of his mission. He only had brute force and revenge planned and prepared for his nemesis only. Without anything else to do, he just honored and agreed to the farmer’s request and they went back to the limos and drove to his home. He needed some time off everything just to offload and think of the way forward afterwards.

James was also at his mission. The mission to save their families wealth by selling Sophia to the evilest and wealthiest playboy. He had just arrived at the Playboy’s home. He then met his father, Donalds, for the discussions. The Donalds family were extremely wealthy. They were the leading refiners and distributors of petroleum products.

They were the perfect candidates that the Jeffersons needed to boost their business. Besides, Donald’s first born son, Thomas, was the evilest of all playboys. The perfect suitor and candidate for their daughter as well. Besides the Jeffersons, the Donalds also needed to make the deal. Not only did Donald want to punish his son by forcing him to marry Sophia but also, their greatest intension was to blackmail the Jeffersons into a business contract. A contract that they had in their mind of using against the Jeffersons later.

Not long later, they had already come to a conclusion and made the deal. All that was left was for Donald to let his son know of it and for James and his father to find a way to get hold of Sophia. They knew that, getting her from William’s arms was not going to be an easy task but were ready to use the necessary means and methods.

On arriving home, William still did not get a good chance to rest. His sister Kate was eagerly waiting for him. Not only did she want to share her plan and request his assistance, she also needed to talk to her about Sophia. She had just discovered that Sophia was the girl that saved her and her brother 9 years ago. With the Donalds being one of William’s enemies, he did not have another choice but to listen.

Anything that could strike them a blow was good enough for him. Kate, now Sky, explained everything she had found out about the Donalds deals and her plan on the way they needed to get ahead and stop them. She had discovered that, the Donalds had managed to purchase a very huge earthquake machine and hired one of her team members to program it for them.

Their main goal was to activate it below a section of Kibich city that was habited by the less fortunate and that was very oil productive. By so doing, they could demolish the entire area. That could only leave the surviving habitats with the option of relocating, and therefore, the Donalds acquiring the land for drilling and oil extraction.

She also mentioned about how she had discovered that Sophia could not recognize them. William advised her not to let Sophia know about it yet and congratulated her idea of using a different name. He then claimed to have plans on how he was to surprise Sophia to jog her memory.
