RETURN OF THE WEALTHIEST WARLORD

Chapter 6

Upon Ruth’s discovery of the true identity of William, she had just started her mission as well. She swore to make his life a living hell and to cut in between any deal and crumble all of his missions. First she began by paying Peterson a visit as well. To drive her point home and get to convince Peterson to keep his decision, she had something special prepared for him.

She first began by narrating the explosion story to him in further details. She then solved Peterson’s mystery of who William truly was. She made it clear that he was Jacob’s surviving son and the one behind the explosion at the reunion party 9 years ago.

Comparing to the wealth that William had at his young age, Peterson had no other choice but to believe Ruth’s story. She then went forth to blame William for killing her husband, his father, a thing that left her in pain. She was willing to work together with Peterson to make sure that William is dealt with or squeezed out to another city away from them.

Peterson agreed to Ruth’s idea of working together. He was also afraid of what William could have done to them and their businesses if left to gain more power. Being one of the Jacobs, Peterson understood that William could be a hard nut to crack. No one of the Jacobs was an easy person to deal with or get rid of. This was the reason the he truly believed that only an inside man, one of them, could succeed to kill the others in the explosion.

William and Sky were out working on a good enough plan to stop the Donalds evil plan. Sophia and her helper, Brendah, were left at the villa in the watchful eye of a few guards. That very day, she got a surprise visit from her father. She never could think of her father visiting her. She instructed the guards to show him into the compound. She was tense and very curious of the exact reason that could have guaranteed her father’s prompt visit.

Out of curiosity and the fear of William’s reactions upon meeting them together at his home, the dialogue had to be short. Her father then let her know of the poor state of his business and how the other family members were treating him including her step mother.

He had visited her seeking for her assistance in talking to William into supporting him revive his business. As far as she felt pity and bad for her father, she could not do anything for him until she talked to William. She waved her father off with a promise to share his request to William and get back to him as soon as William accepted to help.

William and her sister Kate had a meeting with “The Wave”, Sky’s revolution group. Since one of them was already hired and paid to program and activate the earthquake machine, they thought it a walk in the park. They awaited for him to arrive for the meeting but he took too long. They decided to reach out to him and inquire of the problem and what was holding him back. They were also afraid that the Donalds could have found out about their plans and cornered him. To their surprise, the guy had just decided to turn his back on them. Above all, he claimed to have been paid more to construct yet another machine besides the one at their group’s headquarters.

To both William and Kate, that was no good news. It was a stab straight to their hearts. Their plan to begin their revenge on the Donalds had just started to backfire. Besides that, most of the members of Sky’s group were from the targeted region. They were also affected as seriously by the turn of events. Their families’ lives among other people were at stake and they had very little time to find out where the other machine was hidden and, where it was to be activated.

Shorn of much more to do without the guy with the trigger, they just needed to organize themselves afresh and begin the search for the new location. Besides working their best around the dark web in search of clues, they also had to search for the location physically. It was at this point that William gave Nicholas and Peter a call to send some of his men to their aid, them included.

James got back to his father with a good news report. Besides Donald accepting to purchase Sophia for his playboy son, he was also interested in getting into a business deal with them. He shared everything they had discussed with Donald to Jefferson. From that point on, their greatest problem was how they could lay their hands on Sophia.

Since their last meeting with her, they knew that she could never honor any call from them, at least not alone. They needed a way to get Sophia alone so that they could execute their plan. Out of options, they shared it to Rachael. Upon hearing the good news, she stepped in to help. She mentioned to them of hearing Daniel talk about having a huge debt and of seeking his daughter’s help. Since Sophia was close to her father, Rachael advised the others to use him as bait. She knew that Sophia had to do it willingly for best results. The last thing they needed was to annoy the Donalds and ruin the deal.

After a while of discussion, they came up with the idea of talking to Daniel’s creditor to speed things up. They managed to get hold of him and bribed him to play their bidding. Instead of him speeding things up, he just decided to kidnap Daniel and requested for a ransom. It was only through the blackmail that they were sure of Sophia’s cooperation and have William out of the picture.

Both William and Kate arrived back at the villa. Sophia was eagerly waiting for her fiancé. She needed to share her father’s request to William. Deep down, she was certain that William was to oblige. From the day they both met, he had showed nothing besides unconditional love to her. He had also promised to make her happy by whichever means possible.

She walked out of the house to welcome them back, “I am glad to see you back my love. It was getting lonely already,” Sophia remarked.

William reached out to hug her, “I am back for you baby. No need to worry.”

“How did it go with your plan to stop those lunatics?”

With a gloomy face, “Sorry but, it did not go so well. One of my guys, the trigger boy, was bought. He sold his dignity and betrayed us all,” Sky replied.

Looking worried, “Is this true William?” Sophia inquired.

“Of course it is. We just need to reorganize ourselves and find their new location. Some of my men are coming back too.”

“I am sorry about that. I had something to tell you but, I think it can wait.”

“Just say it. You are more important to me Sophie. Talk to me. Anything for you.”

Sophia opened up and went ahead to tell him of her father’s request. On top of this, she also put forward her own ideas of how they could help her father. She also explained of how badly the rest of the family members treated him.

On hearing this, William was pitiful and concerned but, not for the idea to give a hand. He thought of it as being too soon to get that close to her family. He even reminded her of how they had mistreated her after the explosion, her father included.

Sophia was still not for the idea that her father had a choice in the issue back then. Her family had pushed him so hard. After a while of talking, William declined the request and warned her of trying to support her father behind his back.
