Oliver made his way out of the hospital room, feeling a mix of relief and sadness wash over him. While he was glad to have seen his stepbrother Carter, the circumstances of their reunion were less than ideal.

As he walked down the sterile halls of the hospital, Oliver couldn't help but replay their conversation in his head. Carter was in bad shape, but he still managed to be as cold and distant as ever. Oliver knew that their relationship had been strained for years, but he couldn't help but feel hurt by Carter's refusal to even try to get along.

But as he turned the corner, Oliver was surprised to see someone waiting for him.

"Hey, Oliver," a voice said from behind him.

Oliver turned around and saw his best friend Adamson, who had a concerned look on his face.

"How did it go?" he asked.

Oliver sighed. "It was…difficult."

His friend nodded sympathetically. "I know that it's not easy for you, but you're doing the right thing by being there for Carter. He needs you right now."
