Chapter 14

After both he and the girl collided with each other Rex saw stars for a few seconds before his bearings finally came back to him and then he got up he saw that the girl was still struggling to get up as well and so he held his hand with an apology.

"Sorry, I didn't see you there..."

Immediately his hand was slapped away after you made that comment and she glared at him with eyes burning like freshly lit flames.

"What do you mean you can't see me? Am I some kind of mushroom that is so tiny that it is impossible for you to see me?"

After she made that comment he took a closer look at her physique and you tried not to laugh when how small she was someone would have easily confused her for a child that was crossing 15 or 14 but if she was in the university she was bound to be older than that as there was a certain age restriction for entrance into the magical University.

"I didn't mean it like tha-"

"Rex doesn't mind her, that's just how she is and I could clearly see that she was the one who bumped into you."

Rex could hear Kelvin and his group snickering behind his back and then he placed a hand on Lyra's shoulder then he whispered in her ear.

"Don't worry about it, I'll handle this."

she glanced over at him with worried eyes.

"Are you sure about this? I can take care of her so she doesn't bother you.."

Rex felt the heavy gaze of his bullies on his back probably waiting for his *girlfriend* to defend him again. But he didn't want it to seem as if he was taking advantage of her or that he was hiding behind her for safety.

"Are you ignoring me now?!"

The petite female in front of him asked and her face was burning with fury as her fist clenched up.

"We can settle this with a wizard duel!"

she said as she slammed her hand on the desk and glared at the boy in front of her as if she was not much smaller than he was.

"I don't know if you heard of the professor just now but we need to find someone to join our group..."

Lyra mumbled and when a bulb lit up above Rex's head and then he looked at the small lady, normally we would have just ignored her and focused on his business. Everyone was always trying to step on his toes after all but he thought of a way that this could come in his favour.

"Ok I'll accept your duel on one condition..." he said after crossing his hands with a smirk.

" if you can beat me-"

"When I beat you, you are going to apologize to me by kissing my shoe and apologizing to me in front of the entire class..."

Everyone in the class is already looking at them and Rex knew that if he agreed to this there was no backing down and so he agreed.

"And of course let's see I win, you will have to join my group for the exam..."

Her eyes immediately widened as if they were going to pop right out of their sockets.

"Why would anybody want to be part of your group? Do I look like I want to fail my exam?"

"Well, since you are so confident that you will beat me, you don't have to worry, right?"

he said to her his smirk never leaving his face and then she nodded.

"of course, I know that I'm not going to lose to you."

" So it's a deal alright then."

"Then tomorrow why tomorrow why not right now I need to eat and rest and I have other things to take care of ."

As he was walking away with Lyra following him from behind she was already calling out.

" Alright, you fireball freak but don't you dare think of running away because I'm going to find you!"

he waves his hand at her without looking back.

" Don't worry I'm not going to run away."

That was your last class for the day and they were heading back to their dorms after they got to the male dorm but you could see that there was something that was troubling his group member, Lyra.

"Lyra, is something wrong?"

He didn't respond to his question immediately but was looking at him intensely and then he sighed, brushing his fingers and crossing his hair.

"If we are going to be on the same thing we need to be able to talk to each other

she nodded.

"you're right, my issue is with that short girl that you were talking to before."

Rex felt his cheeks become a little red.

"liar I don't know if I need to point this out but I don't really have time for a relationship so if you are interested in me in that way then..."

"interested in you in th-"

suddenly what is trying to say is his liver is like a lightning bolt and then her face immediately becomes red.

"I don't mean it like that it's not like I'm jealous or anything but I don't think that that girl will be a good addition to our group."

"And why do you say that?" he asked her curiously.

"I can't tell you right now some guys are ready to give me weird looks... you probably don't want them to bring up any funny rumours about us..."

so the duo decided that they would discuss it later since he was already at the males' dorm, after they departed he tried to remember anything that stood out about the girl that he had encountered in the lecture Hall.

he could not remember anything that really still that she treated him just the way most of the students in his year did as well.

"Well, I guess I'll find out from Lyra, for now, I'll just rest."
