Chapter 6: Another God

His opponent's effort to block was completely useless. He couldn't even block the incoming attack from Ibuki anymore.

Still, Ibuki's opponent was imposing to stand up despite being hit numerous times in three minutes. His opponent refused to give up and kept taunting Ibuki that he doesn't hurt that much at all.

This makes Ibuki kind of irritated as he wanted to make sure that his opponent yields as soon as possible. Ibuki hates to hear his opponent tell him that he is weak.

It leaves Ibuki with no choice but to stop attacking with his bare hands. It would take quite a long time for his opponent to give up. All because his opponent has the spirit to not yield even in a difficult situation.

Ibuki then decided to grab his opponent and lift him from the ground. It makes his opponent surprised as he didn't think that Ibuki will use this method.

His opponent struggles to escape from Ibuki's grasp. Ibuki didn't take any time at all, as soon as he reached a good height distance. He throws his opponent like a pebble to the ground.

The impact of his opponent when he hit the ground was quite big. The whole ground crack also makes some debris nearby fly away.

Ibuki then approaches his opponent as he was sure that he was already dead. Surprisingly for Ibuki, his opponent was still alive but Ibuki knows that he will not survive any longer. His opponent will soon be dead and before that happens, Ibuki begins to say something to his opponent.

"I will give you a chance to survive and all you need to do is to answer a question..." Ibuki said that as he knows that his opponent would only last for a single question.

His opponent refused to answer Ibuki's question as he replied, "Fool, I will not tell you anything... I know that my God will punish you, undead!" After that, Ibuki's opponent died.

Ibuki didn't get any information that he wanted from his opponent at all. He kind of regretted his action of killing his opponent earlier. Ibuki realized that all his effort coming to this place was useless.

He still doesn't know about this place and who was the one controlling Oldham back then. Ibuki picked up his scythe back from the ground as he looked at his opponent's weapon.

Ibuki inspects the weapon thoroughly. It might give him some hint about God Uvel that his opponent kept talking about. His time was just wasted doing that as he didn't find anything useful; it was just a shovel with a unique design.

Ibuki feels like a fool for doing that and blames the shovel for wasting his few minutes. He decided to break the shovel in half just for that reason.

After Ibuki successfully broke the shovel with ease, something happens as his surroundings suddenly turn white. He then realized that he was in yet a different place.

"What is this? A huge empty place..." Ibuki said loudly as his sound echoed back.

As he thought that no one would hear that, he begins to say other things but suddenly there was someone that replies to him. The sound was coming from above him as he looked at it.

Ibuki notices that there is a white entity with a wing above him right now. That white entity said to Ibuki that he had done something that couldn't be forgiven; it was because he had broken the unique shovel.

"You think I care about that... That shovel is useless but I think I made the right choice as who would think that something would happen just because of that." Ibuki said that toward the white entity.

"Undead, your sin will not be forgiven and you will die in place..." That white entity said something and then appeared around Ibuki.

A huge barrier was placed surrounding Ibuki as the white entity slowly descended to the ground. The white entity then takes out his left hand and a weapon suddenly appears.

"A shovel? What's with this world... don't you guys have a sword or something." Ibuki said that the people in this world have been fighting with a shovel.

"A mere undead wouldn't understand, the shovel was a sacred weapon of this world and it would be the one to defeat you..." The white entity replied as it placed the shovel on the ground.

Ibuki looked at the white entity's action, Ibuki doesn't know what's doing right now. The white entity didn't attack him as he just placed the shovel and chanted some weird spell.

Because it took so long, Ibuki runs out of patience and immediately launches an attack on the white entity. Surprisingly he couldn't get near the white entity at all.

Ibuki just realized why the white entity put a barrier before he descends to the ground. The white entity knows that he needs to chant his spell and Ibuki might attack him.

To make sure the white entity successfully chants his spell, the white entity puts the barrier to protect itself and contain Ibuki within it for a few minutes until all the necessary stuff is finished. 

"A barrier to stop me, I don't think this would be sufficient enough to hold me... My power is stronger than this and I definitely could break it." Ibuki said that while the white entity didn't even pay attention to what Ibuki just said.

It makes Ibuki mad as people should listen when someone is talking. Ibuki wanted to punch the white entity right now but instead, he punched toward the barrier. It's like what he said as the barrier did break and he immediately dashed toward the white entity.

He knows that he might unlock a new skill, but Ibuki thinks it wouldn't help. Instead, he uses his scythe to slash up the white entity.

As Ibuki thought he would land a hit on the white entity, it immediately evades the attack as it is aware of the danger.

"Impressive for an undead to be able to break the barrier which means that you're not just a simple undead, what you are..." The white entity said.

"It's just a magic barrier and it would be easy as I am the God Of Death!" Ibuki said that he was indeed a God himself.

Hearing that, the white entity let out a short laugh before he replied to what Ibuki had just said. "God Of Death? It's funny because like it's named... that God had already been dead. To hear an undead proclaim itself to be the God Of Death, it's hilarious."

Ibuki recalls that all of the people he met were saying the same thing to him. That was the God Of Death already ceased to exist in this world.

The white entity then said again to Ibuki, "It's no doubt that you're powerful but I know who you're..."

Ibuki was shocked when the white entity said that. Ibuki realized that this white entity might know that Ibuki was originally a human before turning into an undead skeleton because of the scythe.

"What do you know about me?" Ibuki said that he needs to confirm whether the white entity knows it all.

"Of course, you're one of the followers of the God Of Death... Xuexis might give you his blessing but you should know that you couldn't beat a God." The white entity said that as it revealed itself to Ibuki.

Looking at the white entity's appearance, Ibuki knows that this was what people here believe in. The one that controls Oldham a while ago.

There's no mistake as it must be God Uvel in front of him right now.

There's no mistake that the white entity was God Uvel itself. Ibuki had to check its stats and its name to make sure. The white entity was what he thought it would be.

Seeing God Uvel's stats, Ibuki knows that this fight would be as easy as before. He has never seen someone with a GOD in their stats before.

Despite seeing all of that, Ibuki remains calm all of the time as he also kept taunting the God Uvel. "What are you? Never have I heard your name before..." Ibuki said that.

The Ibuki taunt doesn't seem to affect God Uvel at all. God Uvel was continuing his spell chant as Ibuki had disturbed it a while back.

"You do know that you're leaving yourself open," Ibuki said as he appeared on God Uvel behind and was about to slash God Uvel with his scythe.

Surprisingly, God Uvel managed to dodge that attack again. It seems like God Uvel already anticipated the attack coming. God Uvel then makes some distance between himself and Ibuki.

"You're fast and I found it rather hard to finish chanting the spell, I guess I had to deal with you first." God Uvel said that.

Ibuki expected that finally, God Uvel would face him off in a battle but it seems that God Uvel did something else. God Uvel put both of its hands in front of which he chants another short spell.

A large magical circle appears on the ground. A few seconds later, a man with a familiar face appears within the large magical circle.

Ibuki was shocked to see that it was his dead opponent from before. Ibuki doesn't know why his opponent suddenly appears there as he should have been dead.

"What are you doing here? You're supposed to be dead!" Ibuki said that.

His opponent also didn't know what happened as he began to look around. He immediately grovels to the ground as soon as he is God Uvel.

"I'm sorry God Uvel, I was unable to defeat the undead that has been causing terror in your place..." His opponent said that toward the God Uvel.

Seeing his dead opponent in front of him right now, Ibuki realized that the God Uvel had revived him. With that, he also knows that God Uvel had that sort of power and there's no mistake that God Uvel was a powerful one.

Ibuki didn't feel like waiting and listening to all of this. He decided to kill both of them while they were distracted. He lunged forward but Ibuki was stopped by something again this time.

It wasn't the barrier this time as it was his dead opponent. Ibuki was surprised to see that his dead opponent was able to catch up with his speed.

Both of their weapons clash with each other as his opponent said something, "You couldn't hurt God Uvel as long as I here, God Uvel has given us another chance and this time I will surely defeat you undead!"

"Good, I could kill you again this time and maybe this time would be different as my scythe would be the one to end your life..." Ibuki said that.

Ibuki took a second to see what God Uvel was doing. He saw that God Uvel was resuming his spell chanting. He realized that he reincarnated this person to buy God sometimes to finish the chant.

He knows that if the spell were ready, it would be compelling as Ibuki judged by the length of chanting. With that in mind, Ibuki needed to defeat his opponent quickly and stop God Uvel before the spell was complete.
