2. Greetings, Mr. Oliver

"Let go of my hand! It hurts!"

Oliver jerked his hand away as two large bodyguards pushed his body. After Aaron announced about the wedding plans and Leo proposing to Lily, Oliver was forcibly removed.

Aaron's two bodyguards threw Oliver's two bags before leaving Oliver's presence. Afterwards, Oliver hissed while noticing the two bodyguards' grip marks on his hands.

"They just threw me out so rudely. Is this the reward for my hard work for them?" muttered Oliver.

So far, Oliver had been able to endure the Aaron Family's treatment of him. But now, what they were doing had crossed the line. Oliver didn't expect that the Aaron Family could kick him out like this.

"I didn't expect them to be so blind to wealth and social status," Oliver said as he looked intently at the door of the Aaron Family's magnificent mansion.

Finally Oliver picked up his two carry-on bags and prepared to leave. When he was about to take a step, Oliver was stopped by the vibration of the phone on his cell phone.

Oliver then put down one of the tote bags to take out the cell phone. He wanted to see who was calling him.

When the phone screen lit up, Oliver saw the display of an incoming phone call. Oliver was immediately surprised to see the name Doctor Thomlinson, who treated his mother's cancer, displayed.

Oliver's emotions began to get anxious thinking about what Doctor Thomlinson would say.

When he had the phone to his ear, Doctor Thomlinson said, "Mr. Oliver, I'm sorry to hear about the hospital. Mrs. Jane has been pronounced dead."

Oliver's whole body froze after hearing Doctor Thomlinson's words. Oliver was immediately silenced without being able to say anything.

Without answering, Oliver immediately turned off the phone call and hurried to leave.

Oliver went to the public transportation bus stop. Luckily, Oliver's arrival coincided with the bus to the hospital where his mother was treated.

After traveling for a few minutes, Oliver arrived at the nearest bus stop of JDC Medical Center. Oliver immediately rushed into the hospital building to go to his mother's hospitalization room.

Oliver immediately froze seeing his mother's body on the bed. A white cloth covered the entire surface of her body.

Oliver's steps entered the hospitalization room so that Doctor Thomlinson automatically made room for him. Oliver slowly uncovered the white cloth that covered his mother's entire body.

Seeing his mother's pallid figure made Oliver's strength defense crumble. Oliver relaxed next to his mother's body.

"Mom, you must have been in a lot of pain all this time. I'm sorry," Oliver said in a whispered tone.

Oliver's hand moved to his mother's shoulder, then stroked the woman's cheek. Oliver could no longer hold back his tears.

Oliver felt a great sense of regret. Considering that for the past two months, he had been in arrears for his mother's medical expenses because almost all the money was only to fulfill Lily's satisfaction.

In the end, Oliver was banished from Aaron's family. All his hard work just ended in vain. What disappointed him even more was that the Aaron family betrayed their promise to guarantee his mother's treatment until she recovered.

Because this hospital is an inheritance belonging to the Aaron Family.

"I didn't think they would treat you like this either. I shouldn't have left you in pain, Mom," Oliver said.

"Now it's too late... I couldn't save you from your illness," Oliver continued his whisper.

Behind Oliver, Doctor Thomlinson looked at him with pity. Doctor Thomlinson reached out his hand to Oliver's shoulder and patted lightly.

"Mr. Oliver, you've done your best to take care of your mother," Doctor Thomlinson said trying to calm him down.

Oliver shook his head, then said, "I still let my mother get hurt, Doctor Thomlinson. I should not have trusted Mr. Aaron's promise for my mother's care."

Doctor Thomlinson pulled his hand back, then said, "I'm sorry for what you've been through, Mr. Oliver. What will you do after this?"

Oliver didn't move. He remembered that he still had to make payments for his mother's funeral. But he didn't have much money at all right now.

Maybe the rest of his money could only last for a week. Oliver had already given almost all of his money to buy Lily everything she wanted.

"I don't know, Doctor Thomlinson. I don't have the money for the funeral and the rest of the process," Oliver said downcast.

Oliver could not find a solution on how to process his mother's funeral. He couldn't possibly get a loan for the money in just one night.

"Can't this hospital give me a fee waiver?" asked Oliver with a pleading look to Doctor Thomlinson.

Doctor Thomlinson grimaced slightly and turned to his nurse. They looked at each other for a split second, somewhat hesitant to answer Oliver's question.

"I'm very sorry, Mr. Oliver. But you've been in arrears with your medical fees for three months. You'll need to settle those arrears," Doctor Thomlinson said.

Oliver had already guessed that answer.

"The hospital's policy is not to hold the body for long. You can't stall on paying the arrears of medical bills and funeral expenses," Doctor Thomlinson continued.

Oliver nodded in understanding of Doctor Thomlinson's words.

"Alright, I understand. I will-"

"Doctor Thomlinson, excuse me, the patient in the name of Mrs. Jane will be taken care of for the bath and funeral tomorrow."

Suddenly Oliver raised his face with a surprised expression. He saw two nurses stepping hurriedly towards Oliver and Doctor Thomlinson's position.

"What do you mean?" asked Oliver in an urgent tone.

"Someone has paid all the arrears of medical fees as well as the costs for Mrs. Jane's funeral arrangements, Mr. Oliver," said one of the nurses.

Oliver's eyebrows furrowed. Before he could ask, his eyes saw a man dressed entirely in black with a stern expression enter the room.

Oliver was confused to see the stranger approaching him.

"Greetings, Mr. Oliver. After so many years of your disappearance, it is time to return to your real family."
