Deya's heart sank the moment she heard Kelan's next words

" Do you two know each other?" Kelan asked, directing the question at Mello, who just smiled.

Embarrassment rushed through her veins at her uncle remark.

"What are you doing, Uncle? Aren't you going to punish him?" She tugged slightly at his hand, and he looked at her, surprise flickering in his eyes.

"Do you realize what you just did?" Kelan's voice rose slowly.

What Kelan did next, made disappointment fell on her face.

He snatched his hand away from her grasp and slowly bowed his head in front of Mello.

" Please, forgive her sir, I'll gladly take her punishment, she's just a kid. Forgive her naivety, please." Kelan said.

She was taken aback by Kelan's actions when she saw the fear in his eyes.

Deya turned her gaze to the man standing before her, feeling a rush of shame burn through her cheeks.

She stared at him for a while, trying to see him in new light, wondering who this mysterious young man might be.
