Jason’s grandfather, William Falkner, decided to hold a grand party to officially introduce Jason as his heir. The event was set in the most luxurious hotel in the city, The Tower, owned by the Falkner family.

The guest list included the wealthiest and most powerful people—business moguls, politicians, celebrities, and foreign investors. It was an event that would change Jason’s life forever.

Jason stood in front of the mirror in his tailored black suit. He still wasn’t used to the luxury surrounding him. He let out tensed sigh as he looked at himself in the mirror.

He chose not to hide his real ugly face. He will let the world see what he really looked like and see who’s going to be his llay and who is going to go against him.

He had been nothing but an outcast, a bullied student, and a framed criminal. But now, he was standing at the edge of a new life. The suit he’s wearing doesn’t fit his face. He’s like a modern beast in the Beauty and the Beast show.

Kane, standing beside him, patted his shoulder and smiled at him.

Kane has been with him ever since he helped him in the prison.

“Are you ready, boss? Kane asked.

Jason took a deep breath. “I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for this. This is so wrong but so right in the most unexplained way.”

Kane smirked. “Good. That means you’ll be careful.”

The two walked out of the room and headed for the grand ballroom. The place screamed wealth and dominance. Jason can see celebrities and politicians he just saw on th television.

As they entered, all eyes turned to Jason. The massive chandeliers shined down on the polished floors, the tables were decorated with gold and silver, and a live orchestra played elegant music in the background.

People whispered as Jason walked by, wondering who he was. Some looked at his face with disgust, others looked at him with fear thinking that he has a contigious disease.

Jason didn’t mind their reaction and just continued to make his way toward the platform.

Among the guests, Samantha Evans and Brandon Cole were present. It’s not impossible since both Samantha and Brandon belonged to a wealthy family. They must have recieved an invitation to join the party.

Samantha wore an expensive red dress, and Brandon was in a designer suit. They had no idea why they were invited, but when they saw Jason, they burst into laughter. They looked at him with mockery in their faces.

Brandon nudged Samantha. “Look at him. He actually thinks he belongs here.”

Samantha smirked. “He probably got a job as a waiter.”

Brandon grabbed a champagne glass from a passing waiter and walked up to Jason with a mocking grin. “Hey, ugly. Get me another drink, will you? You work here, right?”

Samantha joined him. “Oh, maybe he’s a janitor. They needed someone to clean up after us. That suites him better, a trash who cleans trash.” Samantha grinned.

The surrounding who heard Samantha guests chuckled, unaware of Jason’s true identity.

Jason remained calm, his expression unreadable.

Kane, on the other hand, clenched his fists, ready to punch Brandon in the face. Ever since Kane save Jason, Kane had always been his ally. He was the first one to react if things like this happens.

But before anything could happen, William Falkner tapped his glass with a spoon, signaling silence in the room.

All the guests silenced and put their attention to the old man.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” William announced. “Thank you all for coming tonight. This is a special event for me and my family. I have gathered you all here for an important announcement.”

The guests listened carefully, eager to hear what the powerful billionaire had to say. Their eyes fixed on him as they waited his news.

William turned to Jason. “Many of you may not know him yet, but allow me to introduce my grandson, Jason Falkner. He is my blood, my rightful heir, and the future of the Falkner Empire.”

Gasps filled the room. Then silence.

Whispers spread like wildfire. The people who had mocked Jason moments ago were now staring in shock. Even the hotel staff, who had once looked down on him, stood frozen in disbelief.

Samantha’s face turned pale. Brandon’s smirk disappeared instantly.

“What?!” Brandon shouted. His voice reverberated the entire room. “This must be some joke! This guy is a fraud! He’s a criminal! He doesn’t belong here! He came from prison and now he’s claiming to be an heir!”

Jason remained silent, watching Brandon with cold eyes. He had nothing to explained. If people won’t believe then it’s not his problem anymore.

Brandon turned to the guests. “You all don’t know him like I do! He’s a murderer! He was in prison! How can a criminal be an heir to a billion-dollar empire?”

The murmurs grew louder. Some guests looked at Jason with doubt.

William Falkner’s face darkened. His voice was sharp and commanding.

“Brandon Cole, you dare insult my grandson in my presence?”

Brandon clenched his fists. “He’s lying to you! He doesn’t deserve to be here!”

William signaled his security team. Within seconds, four massive bodyguards grabbed Brandon by the arms.

“Wait! What are you doing?!” Brandon struggled. “You can’t do this to me!”

William’s voice was cold. “Take him away. I will not tolerate disrespect towards my family.”

The guards dragged Brandon toward the exit. Samantha, now in complete shock, took a step back, unsure of what to do. “What? I can’t believe this.”

The entire ballroom erupted into applause as Brandon was forcefully removed from the premises.

Samantha turned to Jason with fear in her eyes. “Jason, I-I didn’t know—”

Jason interrupted her with a sharp glare. “You knew who I was, but you still chose to betray me. Enjoy your life, Samantha. You made your choice.”

Tears welled up in her eyes, but Jason had already turned away.

The guests, now fully convinced of Jason’s legitimacy, surrounded him with congratulations and praises. Businessmen offered him partnerships, politicians wanted his support, and celebrities asked for photos.

Jason, the man who was once bullied, mocked, and cast aside, was now standing among the elite.

Kane stood beside him and whispered, “How does it feel?”

Jason smirked. “Like the beginning of something bigger.”

But deep inside, Jason knew this was only the first battle. The real war was still ahead.
