Cillian sat at his desk in his study. He had been feeling uneasy for a while so he hadn’t left the house. He poured through an article while he had a glass of rare scotch before dinner. He didn’t drink a lot but on occasions he would have a glass. This was one of those occasions, when he was alone. No one to disturb him, no job to attend to, just some time to himself.Cillian dropped the papers. Something was wrong and he could feel it. He was restless for some reason. Alarick finished his dinner and was about to head to bed when he decided to check up on his father because he seemed really upset after leaving the dining room earlier. He walked to his bedroom door and knocked. No one answered. He knocked again and still there was no reply. Alarick chose to open the door and peep inside. He did and saw Cillian laying on the floor clutching a picture of his late mother, tears coating his eyes and cheeks. Cillian had fallen asleep crying over the fact that he couldn’t do anything to save her. Seeing Micah had made him remember his past and it hurt too much. Cillian, Alarick and a business associate James Burgess, were on their way to attend a business meeting that day. James wasn’t supposed to accompany them but they agreed to let him come at the last minute. Since they hadn’t been expecting anyone else to join them, they hadn’t brought a limo so he had to sit in front with the driver. The ride so far was uneventful as they were occupied with browsing through documents relating to a new investment rather than taking a look around. Even the driver was absent minded as he stared at a beautiful woman from across the street. If they had paid more attention, maybe then they would have noticed the large truck heading straight for them. Days went by and still the police were not able to apprehend the man that Cillian had pointed out to them. They had followed all the leads they had but had still come up empty. So now they had nothing to go on except a picture of a man who could not be found.Alarick was at his office seething after he got a call from the station. He threw his phone onto his desk. He was getting fed up with not having the man who almost killed his father behind bars. He came in to work early to get his mind off the fact that they hadn’t caught the man yet but this call just made everything worse. Why was the man so hard to find? Was he really a ghost or were the police just that incompetent? Just then his phone buzzed. Alarick got to the station some minutes after they brought Alejandro in. They took the culprit to the interrogation room and he went in to watch. Alarick and the officer in charge of his case, Maurice sat down opposite Alejandro who was chained to the table. “Where is your accomplice?” Alejandro was cautious. He knew that the man sitting across from him had threatened his family but he was more wary of the person he was trying to protect. The person who stood him up. “Which accomplice. After Alarick had told his father all that was going on he went straight home to rest. It was late and he didn’t want to go back to the office. Work and this whole case were getting to him. He couldn’t let the company go into ruin because he was focused on getting his uncle and he couldn’t let Micah go free because he was working all the time. He promised himself one calm night.
