By the time Saint awoke from his deep slumber, the whole room was lit up by sunlight which meant, it was already the next morning.

Saint could properly see the room that he was in. It had seemed as though he had been kept in a basement the night he had been brought here, but seeing it clearly for the first time, he realised that he was being kept in a proper room that either belonged to sir Rawlings or someone else.

The room was in a hot mess but surprisingly, there was laundry neatly folded and kept on the bed.

Saint struggled to get up to his feet but realised that he could not move his limbs.

Much to his amazement, neither his legs nor hands were bound, yet he could not even raise a finger—only turning his head from side to side in agony.

Laying helplessly on the floor sent frustration gushing through Saint. He clenched his jaw and struggled still to get up from the floor but all his efforts were futile.

He could not grasp the reason he felt so weak and why his bones ached all over.

The door suddenly creaked open, revealing Rawlings and a woman standing beside him.

"You did this to me, didn't you?!" Saint grunted in anger.

"You refused to cooperate with me." Rawlings defended, putting his hands together in front of him.

"Reverse this, or else when I recover, I will not spare your neck!" Saint threatened and he meant every word of what he said.

The corners of Rawlings' face curved upwards as he advanced toward Saint. "Heal Jack, and maybe I'll find a way to reverse this. You forced my hands, you remember you did. I wouldn't have had you rendered immobile if you had just cooperated with me in the first place!"

"Reverse this!" Saint yelled into his face.

"Are you going to heal Jack now?" Rawlings didn't move an inch from where he stood.

"You already know the answer to that. And even if I were to heal Jack, you wouldn't expect me to heal him in this state I am when I can't even move a finger!"

"Then promise me that you'll heal him once I give you the antidote." Rawlings tone was that of desperation as he spoke.

"Healing that arrogant bastard would be the last thing I do on this earth. Why would I want to heal him after he took the only thing that I loved more than anything else in this world."

"Everything I did and sacrificed for the Zlate family—credits were accredited to him instead."

"I laboured for years when I didn't know my identity just so I could gain their validity and acceptance, but what did I get in return?"

"They connived with Jack Sparrow to take Victoria away from me!!"

The pain in Saint's voice was evident and a tiny tear had welled up in the corner of his eye but none of that mattered to Rawlings.

"That is in the past, Saint. You have to accept that Victoria would never be yours. Don't take it out on Jack, he's innocent in all of this."

"Be quiet!!" Saint hollered at Rawlings who in turn backed away in fear.

"Do you think I do not know who you people really are and what your intention with Victoria really is?" He blurted out,

"I should not have let Jack come close to Victoria in the first place. You are all the same...."

"Scheming bastards. I know everything. And I know exactly what I'm going to do, I'm going to expose you all to the Zlate family before Jack dies...."

"I'm going to let them know what you all intend on doing with their daughter!"

"What intentions are you talking about?" Rawlings snapped at him.

"You think I do not know, do you?" Saint managed to respond as the pain he felt grew unbearable but he had gone through a lot more pain and could definitely survive this one.

"I know that, you, Jack and the likes of you people are not who you all paint yourself to be. You are all lying scums pretending to be what you're not."

"I should never have kept quite when I knew the truth!" Saint blurted out before his face fell onto the floor and he started gasping for air.

Rawlings expression didn't change, instead he took another step backwards, joining with the woman he had earlier been standing next to.

"I see!" Rawlings stated simply. From what Saint was saying, he had an idea that he must know something about Jack that he could use against him.

"You're not going to heal Jack then. There's no problem with that." Rawlings let out calmly.

"I have been polite enough and I see that you're taking that for weakness." Rawlings said in a low and dangerous tone.

He gestured toward the woman standing beside him and they quietly walked out of the room, leaving Saint to writhe and wiggle in pain.

"Get...get back here and give...give me...the antidote!" Saint tried to yell out but his voice had grown faint.

"Get....back....here!" Saint muttered under his breath.

He closed his eyes and tried to ignore the pain but it was too tremendous.

"Saint, are you alright?"

The familiar voice caused Saint to shoot his eyes open immediately. He tried to turn to see if it was truly her but he couldn't move his head anymore.

"Just stay calm, okay....I'm...I'm going to get you out of here."

"Victoria?" Saint whispered faintly.

"Just hang in there, I'm going to search for the antidote." She said in a whisper and hurried to the door to shut it.

"How did you get in here?!" He asked in surprise.

"Save your strength, Saint. You've done enough talking already."

"Just...just tell me." He urged.

"I followed Sir Rawlings down here. I knew something was off when he came to Jack's house looking for you. So I had to follow him."

"I didn't want you to get into trouble after you'd saved me from those men."

"I'm not in trouble, now leave before someone finds you in here!" Saint ordered but Victoria ignored him and continued searching the room for the antidote.

Before he could entertain the thought any further, his senses suddenly sharpened. Something was off. He halted mid-step, his ears picking up the slightest shuffle of movement behind him. Too late. A thick cloth was shoved over his face. The strong scent of chemicals invaded his nostrils as he struggled against the men holding him down. He looked down onto his own body and noticed the blood stains all over his clothes—not a single drop of blood had spilled from him but rather the blood stains were from all the people he had slaughtered. The entire house was as silent as a graveyard by the time Victoria made it back. Not a single sound could be heard—the usual sound of the TV blaring was absent; As Jack never missed his nightly shows, not even for the world. But tonight was different from the rest. The house was equally as dark and Victoria had a hard time finding the switches so she could turn the lights on. "Jack?" Victoria called out, wiping the perspiration from her face, "Where the hell are you, Jack?" She called out again, but the only response she got was her voice echoing off the walls and bouncing back to her. It felt like the house was empty, there was not a sign of a soul in the house—all the house workers, including the security guard that was meant to be stationed at the gate had suddenly disappeared. Victoria marched up the stairs to be sure of what was happening. Had those men all taken everyone in the house out? It was possible that they would have, if they wanted to keep anyone back from coming af
