Shiro and Korin had become good friends over the past few days. They spent time talking and laughing, which helped Shiro forget about the heavy feelings inside him. As they sat in Shiro's dimly lit room, Korin shared stories about Elro to him.

"You really cared about Elro, didn’t you?" Shiro asked, looking at Korin. The small creature nodded, his eyes shining with memories.

"He was like a brother to me, he was my best friend." Korin said, his tiny body leaning against a desk. "We did a lot together even though I am really small…. but let's focus on you now!"

Shiro sighed. He hadn't gone out much since what happened in school. People felt far away, and his parents seemed more worried about his strange behavior than about him. He just wanted to be alone.

"Look at this," Korin said, pointing to a pencil on Shiro’s desk. "Can you try to melt this pencil?"

"Me?" Shiro raised an eyebrow. "I don’t think I can."

"But I'm sure you've broken a cup before!" Korin said,.

"Yeah, but that was because I was angry," Shiro replied, feeling frustrated. "If I don’t feel something strong, I can’t use my powers."

"That’s not true!" Korin insisted, shaking his head. "Everyone can learn to control their powers. I might not have elements like you, but I know some things. Just focus and try again."

Shiro stared at the pencil, trying to make it melt. He took a deep breath, hoping to feel something happen. His heart raced, and he felt a little warmth in his hands, but nothing changed.

"Just concentrate!" Korin encouraged.

Shiro tried harder, imagining the pencil melting away. He felt some energy building inside him, but then it faded. Instead, a cup that was on the desk started to shake, a faint glow surrounding it.

"No, not a cup again!" Shiro exclaimed, feeling panic rise.

Korin laughed, "It seems your powers have a mind of their own! But that’s a good sign, hey; it means you’re starting to connect with them!"

Frustrated, Shiro ran a hand through his hair. "But I want to control it! I don’t want random things happening."

Time passed and they had been sitting in silence, Shiro was lost in his thoughts and Korin, as usual, remained nearby, a little less talkative than normal.

“Why are you helping me?” Shiro finally asked, his tone soft, his eyes fixed on the ground.

Korin’s ears twitched, his small, glowing form hovering near. “I’m your guardian, Shiro—” Korin began, but Shiro cut him off.

“All this time, why now? Why do you show up now?” Shiro’s voice trembled slightly. “All…. my….. life, I’ve had this power I never asked for. This curse that made people avoid me, treat me like I’m some kind of freak.” His hands clenched as he spoke, his emotions bubbling to the surface. “And yet, you never even showed up to tell me I wasn’t a monster...that I wasn’t the thing people said I was.”

Korin’s fur turned brown in disapproval of what Shiro said. He floated closer, his eyes filled with understanding. "You’re right, Shiro. You’ve been through so much alone, and I am sorry. But it's not because I didn’t want to help you. The truth is... you weren’t ready. You needed to accept your powers before I could reach you. You hid them all those years, accepting what people said you were. But that moment you stood up to your bullies, that moment you felt the anger bubbling up ready to explode, you had to let me in, you had also let the elements in.”

Shiro wiped his eyes, a mixture of frustration and sorrow in his expression. “I wonder why me? I don’t want any of this. I never asked for it.”

Korin hovered in front of him, his voice gentle but firm. “You were born into this, Shiro. The elements chose you. Your connection to Elro is part of something big. Whether you want it or not, you have a huge role to play. And no matter what others have said, you know you're not a monster dear Shiro. You're more like, a savior” Korin teased. “ because you accepted that this power is part of who you are.”

Shiro looked away, shaking his head. “I can’t even control it. I can’t help anyone if I can’t even focus. How can I save anyone when I’m barely holding it together?”

“That’s why you’re going to learn,” Korin said calmly. He paused, then added, “You need to come to Serevaal. That’s where Elro and I come from. There, you’ll see others like you, people who struggle to control their powers just as you do. Some of them can’t control their abilities either, but they learn. Just like you will.”

Shiro blinked, surprised. “Really?”

“Yes,” Korin nodded. “You’re not the only one who struggles, Shiro. Everybody does. You just need to be determined. In Serevaal, you’ll find others working to harness their gifts. You are really special, Shiro, and the world you’re living in now... it’s only a small part of a much bigger picture. They are waiting for you.”

Shiro sat quietly, trying to process everything Korin was saying. “Do you think they're going to accept me?? Am i ready for this.”

“You’ll be just fine,” Korin assured him, his small lips curling into a smile. “You’ll see.”

Shiro let out a heavy breath, still unsure but feeling a flicker of hope for the first time.

Just then, there was a sharp knock on his door.

"Shiro!" His aunt’s voice was sharp, as if she had been standing there listening for a while. She pushed the door open and walked in, frowning as she looked around the empty room. Her eyes landed on Shiro, sitting on the floor, seemingly talking to no one.

"Who are you talking to?" she asked, as if accusing him.

“No one” Shiro muttered as Korin had already floated to a corner.

"You’re just sitting here alone, mumbling. You're acting strange again."

His aunt's eyes narrowed still suspicious.

"You're talking to yourself now, huh?" she scoffed. “You are really cursed, you know. You are bringing a lot of curse in the family too."

Shiro’s heart sank at her words, the sting making him clench his fists.

"I’m not cursed," he muttered, avoiding eye contact.

His aunt raised an eyebrow, folding her arms across her chest. "Could have fooled me. You're always locked up in here, acting weird. Honestly, Shiro, you should be grateful your parents are so kind. Left to me, I would have thrown you out." She spat the word out like it disgusted her. "Because people are right about you."

The room fell silent as her words lingered, cold and cutting.

Korin’s soft glow brightened slightly, as if angered by her words, but he remained silent. Shiro, however, stared at the floor, swallowing the lump in his throat. His aunt, with one last disapproving glare, turned and left the room, slamming the door behind her.

Shiro sat there, trying to fight the growing frustration and sadness. Korin floated over to him once more. “Wish I could bite her ” he said as his little hands held Shiro's

Korin’s voice was calm, soothing. “People will always misunderstand you, Shiro. But that doesn’t make them right.”

Shiro nodded slightly, he was still hurt nevertheless.

Shiro opened it to find a figure—a tall man with glowing eyes and a calm but powerful presence standing there, his expression serious. It was Ralph, a messenger. His dark cloak shimmered faintly, his facial expression void. "The council is summoning you, Shiro," Ralph said, his voice firm. "You’ll need to come alone." Shiro blinked, his stomach tightening at the thought of facing the council by himself. "Alone?" Korin stepped forward, patting Shiro's shoulder reassuringly. “You'll be fine," Shiro tried to push down the nervousness rising in his chest and gave a small shrug. "I guess so." "Don't worry too much," Korin said. “The protectors won't bite." With that, Ralph motioned for Shiro to follow him. Shiro glanced back at Korin, who gave him a thumbs-up before leaning back against the doorframe casually. The heavy doors of the co

The buildings looked old but strong, with stone walls covered in vines that sparkled faintly. Inside the grounds, the supernaturals moved in groups, practicing their abilities with bursts of energy crackling in the air. Water splashes, flames flickering, and gusts of wind were everywhere as students honed their skills. Korin glanced over at Shiro. “This is where you’ll be learning to control your elements. Since you’ve got all four, you’ll have to go through each one step by step.” Shiro’s stomach churned. “And how long will that take?” Korin shrugged. “Depends on how fast you learn. The levels here are Beginner Novice and Intermediate before you reach the advanced stages. It’s a lot of hard work Shiro, but I think you’re up for it.” As they walked toward the entrance, Shiro couldn’t help but notice the whispers and stares from other students.

Come and see!” Korin said, excitement in his voice. He then climbed curtains and pulled on them letting in bright sunlight. Shiro squinted as he stood up and looked outside the window. His eyes widened in surprise. The streets of Serevaal were filled with supernaturals. Colorful decorations adorned every corner, and laughter echoed in the air, the sky as purple as ever signaling it was a bright day. “What’s happening?” Shiro asked, rubbing his eyes. “It’s the Elemental Festival! It happens once every month. Shiro said as his hands glowed with weak Air energy, and he struggled to contain the storm, his power barely doing anything. The man's cold voice cut through the storm. "We don’t have time for this. If we don’t stop him now, he’ll destroy this place." Shiro continued and didn't give up. "I won’t let him hurt anyone," Shiro said, his voice steady. Rena’s eyes widened, realizing Shiro’s intent. “If you’re going to do this, be careful! Focus on your air element; use it to calm the storm!” she shouted loudly so he could hear. • RISE OF THE ELEMENTAL HERO    ELEMENTAL TRAINING: WATER

The forest was cloaked in silence, the only sound being the occasional rustle of leaves in the cold night breeze. The sky was so dark, everything in it seemed invisible. A hooded figure stepped into a hidden clearing, where the moonlight barely touched the ground. He moved with purpose, his dark cloak brushing the earth like a shadow given life. At the center of the clearing lay an ancient stone seal, cracked and weathered by time. Faint symbols glimmered weakly along its surface, pulsing in and out, as though something beneath it was alive—waiting. '命运交织' was written on the Stone. The air around the seal felt thick, heavy with restrained power. The figure stood before it. The ground trembled slightly, responding to his presence. Streams of faint energy—both earth and air—curled from the edges of the cracked seal as they drew to him like threads of a incomplete web. He tilted his head, muttering under his breath, “Though the distraction failed,... the orb weakened more.” His w

Two figures emerged out from the shadows—It was Rexar, sharp-eyed and restless, and Zerix, whose expression was calm but watchful. They stopped just outside the cell, the heavy iron door creaked open as Rexar stepped in first, arms crossed. The boy didn’t move. "Get up," Rexar ordered, his voice sharp, but the boy didn’t respond. His thin shoulders remained unmoved, as if the world was too much to face. Zerix stepped in beside Rexar, his tone more measured. "We need answers, boy. Who’s behind what happened that night? Tell us, and maybe we can help you." A faint whisper slipped from the boy’s lips. "Him….."

Alaric cleared his throat, breaking the heavy silence. “We need to address the orb’s instability. Liora’s condition is proof that we are wasting so much time in stopping the Dark One.”Rexar leaned back in his chair, his large arms crossed. “We’ve been quite lenient on this matter for a while. Don't you think? That's why the orb keeps getting unstable, this is nothing different. The Dark One’s influence is seeping through already. I can feel it. Or maybe someone within the council, tampered with the orb.”“You know that can't happen, this council is guarded.” Alaric replied sharply, “This is an anomaly, it's the Dark One.”“An anomaly or not, the orb almost killed one of us! How many more anomalies are you willing to accept before we act, Protectors”“Enough,” Zerix said firmly, his voice cutting through their budding argument. “We’re not here to argue. We’re here to find a solution.”Cora, who had been quietly observing the exchange, leaned forward slightly. Her tone was fierce but

Yeuhan’s laugh was low and dark. “I could, but where’s the fun in that? You’re still too weak, Shiro. The real challenge comes when you stop relying on physical force and start listening to your elements.” Shiro frowned, trying to make sense of what Yeuhan was saying. “So… control?” Yeuhan's eyes sparkled with an edge of amusement. “More than that. It’s about connection, I'm sure you've been told. You can’t force your elements to obey. You have to ask them, listen to them, guide them with your will.” Shiro didn’t fully understand, but he nodded anyway. He was learning—although at a pace he never thought possible. Shiro sat on the edge of his bed, the weight of the past few days pressing on his chest. His thoughts kept circling back to what had happened back at the council—just like everyone, he wanted answers. And he also felt bad for Protector Liora. The air in his room felt heavy, suffocating. He couldn’t stay there any longer. He looked over at Korin who made faint sleep noises before leaving. Stepping out into the stillness of the area, Shiro moved toward a quiet corner where he often found peace. The training grounds had been eerily quiet since the council’s decision to pause all sessions due to what happened. Two days of restless waiting had done little to calm his nerves and his elements. As he sat on the stone bench, a prickling sensation ran down his spine. Someone was watching him. He stood abruptly, spinning around, his eyes scanning the shadows. “Who’s there?” His voice was firm, though his heart raced. No answer. The air was heavy with tension, whispers of what had happened already spreading through the grounds and quarters.“Do you think she’s okay?” Korin asked, his small voice laced with worry.“She has to be,” Shiro replied, though his tone lacked certainty. As they approached the healing chamber, two council guards stepped aside, allowing them in. Inside, the room was filled with an eerie glow. Liora lay on a raised platform, her usually vibrant aura dimmed. A HELPER stood over her, hands glowing faintly as they worked to draw the orb's energy from her body.Alaric, Zerix, and Rexar stood nearby, their faces in dismal.“Shiro, Korin,” Zerix acknowledged, his voice soft but strained. “You’re here.”“How is she?” Shiro asked immediately, his eyes darting to Liora.“She’s stable,” Alaric replied, his usual calm voice filled with unease now. “But the energy from the orb… it’s taking time to

Rexar leaned back in his chair, his earthy green skin catching the orb's light. His sharp features betrayed his frustration, though he masked it with an air of indifference.“So,” he began casually, crossing his arms, “has anyone come across... anything unusual lately?”The other protectors exchanged glances at each other.“Something like what, Rexar??” Zerix asked.“I don't know, perhaps something left behind by Elro?” Cora, seated at the head of the table, raised a sharp brow. Her fiery aura flared faintly, “Why would Elro leave something behind without informing the council?”“ I don't know, it just came to mind, it's nothing serious” “Do you know something we don't know?”Cora questioned, her eyebrows squinting slightly. Rexar scoffed. “Trust me, Cora. You all know more than I do. It was just a harmless question.” Alaric tilted his head, his silver hair gleaming. His cool, composed demeanor remained unchanged as he spoke. “You seem unusually concerned about this, Rexar. I

Shiro and Yuki sat on a smooth rock by the riverside, the sound of rushing water filling the air around them. The calm atmosphere seemed to draw them into a conversation that was quite relaxing."You know, forming a flying mage is not hard," Yuki said, responding to Shiro.Shiro sighed, resting his chin on his knees. "It's really hard. I just want Yeuhan to have some hope in me."Yuki blinked in surprise, turning to face Shiro. "Yeuhan? That's your instructor?"Shiro nodded.Yuki let out a low whistle, his expression shifting to one of admiration. "Yeuhan is a legend in Serevaal. He's been here for decades, maybe longer. He was here before my dad was even born. Did you know he taught Elro how to use his four elements?"Shiro's eyes widened in astonishment. "Elro? He taught Elro?"Yuki nodded again, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah. He's one of the best. Honestly, I

  • THE FIRE WITHIN

"Couple of days ago, we learnt how to form a mage," Yeuhan began, his commanding voice spreading across the training ground. "It was really simple. Now, I need you all to know..." His gaze swept over the students like a stormcloud ready to break. "...the easy stage has passed."Shiro swallowed hard, exchanging a nervous glance with Mei, who stood beside him. Mei's usual confidence seemed to flicker as she gulped silently, and Shiro couldn't help but do the same."Get into your runes, everyone!" Yeuhan commanded, his tone unchanged. The students scrambled to obey, rushing to their elemental circles etched into the ground. Shiro hesitated for a moment not knowing where to go but ended up in the fire rune. The fiery red circle beneath his feet glowed faintly as he stood still, trying to control his breathing. His tall, imposing frame seemed to make the room smaller, the air heavy with his growing anger."It has to be here," he growled, his voice low but sharp.
