RISE OF THE GREAT SULLIVAN

Chapter four

Sullivan looked at all of them and repeated more calmly.

"I will solve the problem tomorrow."

"And how do you intend to do that?" Bella asked.

"Just watch and see." He said firmly.

"Do you think this family is a joke that you believe you can mock us?" Bella asked.

"You had better provide the solution for your own good!"

The other members of the family all looked at him in a mocking way because they did not believe that he could solve the issue.

Just then, the door opened with a bang and a man hastily ran in. From the look on his face, it shows he had some important news to deliver.

He stopped in front of the people and gasped for breath.

"What is wrong with you Dew?" Erica's mother asked.

"Are you being chased?" She asked again.

"Dra..gon.. General.."

"Will you open your mouth and speak like a human being!" Bella shouted at him.

He composed himself immediately and spoke.

"Dragon General is around!" He announced.

"What?" They all shouted.

"When?" Bella asked.

"Few days ago, but that's not what is important." He said.

"Then, what is important?" One of the elders asked.

"I heard that he is holding tomorrow night and all the rich and elite families are invited!" He said excitedly.

The news made them all happy.

"Now, this is an opportunity for our family to get into the upper class in the society!" Bella said.

They forgot about Erica at the moment as they began to discuss how to get an invitation to the party.

They were still on the topic when a beautiful girl came in with a fat man who is her husband. She was also a member of the family and her name is Vivian.

"Hello family." She greeted them with pride.

"Hello." They answered.

"Did I just hear you guys talking about getting an invitation to the Dragon General's party?" She asked.

"Yes" Bella answered.

"Well, my husband and I has already gotten an invitation to the party!" She announced while mocking them.

They were impressed by the news and began to praise her.

"Congratulations, I am happy for you." Erica said.

It was at that point that she noticed Erica and looked at her with disgust on her face.

"Woww, who do we have here?" She asked mockingly.

Vivian has never liked Erica right from when they were young. She has always seen Erica as a rival because Erica was more beautiful than her.

Erica on the other hand, has never been jealous of Vivian, she saw her as a sister and always wished her well.

Growing up, they were close because they all grew up in the family house. They both attended the same school, they played together and shared their things.

But things changed when they started becoming mature and Erica was looking more beautiful than Vivian. 

Though Vivian was also beautiful, but she was jealous, she wanted all the attention for herself. Because Erica had a good heart and was always quick to help those around her, even to strangers, she always lent a helping hand.

This made Vivian to hate her because people were always drawn to her. Erica has asked Vivian several times why her attitude towards her changed but Vivian was too proud to admit the truth.

She married her husband who is rich and well connected in the society just to spite Erica and make her feel jealous, but Erica still had a good mind towards her.

"Hello Vivian" Erica greeted.

"Save the greetings for yourself!" Erica said harshly.

"I heard you endangered our family recently by getting  Jason Jabs offended." She said.

"I did not offend him, he tried molesting me and I refused, it was all self defense!" Erica tried defending herself.

"He tried molesting you? What will the great Jason Jabs be looking for in a girl like you?" She asked, mocking Erica.

"I know you have always loved getting attention from people, so when you don't get one, you create one." 

"That's not true Vivian, I was actually on my own when he approached me and started making advances at me!" 

"Please don't lie, I know you too well." Vivian said, waving her hands.

"But let me warn you, whatever you do, make sure you don't put this family in trouble. If not, I will make life hell for you!" She threatened.

"Please let's leave Erica's issue for now, our main challenge now is getting an invitation to the Dragon General party." Bella said.

"And Erica is not to be included in the invitation, she and her so-called husband." 

All these while, Sullivan was quietly observing the whole scenario. 

He laughed at them in his mind because they did not know that he is the Dragon General and that he did not need an invitation because he is the one hosting the party.

He wanted to lay low and not reveal his identity yet but when he saw the way Erica was being treated, he decided to get revenge for her.

He picked up his phone and called John, his assistant.

"Good morning sir!" John saluted at the other end.

"John, I need you to get invitations for the Dragon General's party held tomorrow night by the Daniels family." He said.

"Ok sir, when should I do that sir?" John asked.

"It should be done right now!" Sullivan said.

"Noted sir!"

Everyone looked at Sullivan like he had gone mad. Nobody thought that he was someone with that kind of power to get them an invitation to the Dragon General party.

"What? Why are you all looking at me?" He asked them.

"Do you know what you are doing young man?" The elders asked him.

"I told you I will solve the problem, did I not?" Sullivan said.

"And you think the best way to solve the problem is by getting us an invitation to the Dragon General party?" Bella asked in a mocking tone.

"Just watch and see!" Sullivan said.

They began to laugh at him telling him that he had gone crazy.
