Chapter two

"LET HER GO AT ONCE!!!" Sullivan commanded.

Jason was shocked. Who in the world had the audacity to disrupt his party? He was well respected and feared by everyone in the country because of his family's prestige, so it came as a rude shock to him to see someone disrespecting him.

"And who the hell are you?" Jason asked, sneering.

"You don't need to know, but it will be in your best interest to do as I say." Sullivan replied, trying to control his anger.

"Oh everyone...!" Jason shouted, looking at the people around him.

"It's like this young man here doesn't know his place and wishes to die!" He threatened.

The people, knowing who Jason was and how bad-tempered he can be when angry, began to murmur and beg Sullivan to apologise to him and leave the party.

Sullivan, being calm as always, walked majestically to where Erica was sitting and attempted to carry her when Jason yelled.

"How dare you!" "Nobody, absolutely nobody, dares to disobey the command of Jason Jabs!"

"Guards! Come show this nuisance his place by beating the hell out of him!." He ordered his guards.

Jason's bodyguards, who were five in number and putting on black suits, surrounded Sullivan, preparing to beat the hell out of him as their boss commanded.

John, seeing the situation, decided to step in to assist his boss, but Sullivan looked at him coldly, which was a sign that he wanted to deal with them by himself.

Jason's bodyguards rushed at him all at once so as to catch his off guard, but he dodged them and came out of the circle. Within five minutes, he had beaten them all to a pulp.

Jason was shocked beyond words.

"I will deal with you! I will make you pay for this humiliation! Nobody has ever done this to me or treated me in such manners and gone Scot-free! I will make sure you pay!!" He yelled at Sullivan.

Sullivan ignored him and instead walked back to Erica, unhindered, and carried her out of the house.

"Tell someone to keep an eye on this fool; his punishment has just begun!" Sullivan gritted his teeth as he instructed his assistant when they entered the car.

"Yes sir!" His assistant saluted them and drove them home.

Erica, still a bit dazed by the whole situation, was shocked at the sight of the luxury villa in which the car stopped. The stranger who had saved her came out of the car and went to her side of the car, where he opened the door and carried her inside.

"Take off your dress." Sullivan said it softly.

Erica was afraid. 'Now he is going to take advantage of me.' She thought to herself.

She clung to her dress and held it tightly around her body, fear written all over her face. Sullivan looked at her, confused by her reaction.

"I said take off your dress." He repeated it loudly this time, thinking Erica did not hear him the first time.

"I heard you the first time, sir, but I won't." She said it fearfully.

"And why?" Sullivan asked, still confused.

"While I appreciate the fact that you saved me and are willing to do anything to repay you back, don't you think it's a little inappropriate for you to take advantage of me?" She answered.

Sullivan looked at her and smiled, understanding registered on his face as he understood where her mind was going.

"Oh no, please don't misunderstand me; I have no intention to touch you inappropriately; I just want to treat your wounds." Sullivan explained.

"Oh... Ok" Erica nodded and blushed with shame.

She bent her head in embarrassment when she remembered that her face was disfigured and that she was looking too ugly for any man to want to have something intimate to do with her. She quietly removed her dress and sat down. Sullivan kneeled beside her and cleaned the injury on her legs with antibacterial and cotton wool.

"Ouch!" She yelled in pain when the cotton wool touched her.

"I'm sorry, please bear it." Sullivan pleaded with her and began to blow on the wound whenever he applied the cotton wool.

When he was done, he rubbed some ointment on it and bandaged both the injury on her face and the one on her legs.

"Don't worry, you will recover in three days." He told her.

"Thank you." Erica said it in appreciation.

Sullivan showed her to the room where she would be sleeping and bid her goodnight.

Back in Jason's mansion, he was so livid and was destroying everything in the house. He called the guards that were beaten up by Sullivan and started hitting them also.

"You useless bunch of embarrassment! I can't believe that just one man was able to beat you all to stupor!" He kicked the leader of the guards so hard that he fell down, but he quickly composed himself and knelt down again.

"We are sorry, boss." The leader apologised.

"Sorry for your sorry selves! What nonsense!" Jason grabbed him by the collar.

"So what have you been doing to rectify this stupid mistake of yours and restore my reputation as a man that must not be toyed with?" Jason asked his guards.

"We have been trying to find out his identity, sir, but that man did not leave a trace that we can use to get him; it's as if he disappeared." The guard explained.

The explanation seems to have provoked Jason more, and he started hitting the television and throwing things around, breaking the ones that were breakable among them.

"Are you telling me a ghost invaded my party? Are you?" He shouted.

Suddenly, the phone rang, and the moment he saw the caller ID, he instantly became calm. It was his father, the most important person in the family.

 "Hello dad." Jason greeted.

"Jason, I heard all that happened today, and I know you are seeking revenge, so I called you to let you know that you are forbidden from taking revenge."

“But why, father? I want him to die; he ruined everything, and..."

“If you don’t want to die, then stop. Otherwise, we’ll kick you out of our family.”

“But...”

“Dragon General is coming.”
