Evelyn wakes up to the sound of rumbling items in her room. She moans softly as she flickers her eyes open.

She was surprised to see the maids in her room.

She jumped up from the bed. Her back was leaning against the bed frame as she tried to make sense of her surroundings.

Suddenly, she felt someone's presence hovering over her.

She raised her gaze and saw John looking at her with a numb expression on his face.

"Rise and shine," He said.

"What's going on? She asked hurriedly.

" Am I in trouble? She asked.

John ignores her, then keeps a straight face as he keeps his gaze fixed on the maids that were trying to tidy up the room.

"John," she half yelled.

" I asked a question."

John turns, finally turns to look at her and he exhales in frustration.

" I heard you the first time, and I chose to remain silent," he said.

" If you're bent on ignoring me, what's... You know what? It's fine. It's fine." Evelyn scoffs, then beats the side of her lip.

Lady Erica provided them for you to look somewhat presentable." He gestured towards the folded clothes on the bed. Evelyn followed his gaze and saw the clothes by her side. "Thank you." She said her voice barely above a whisper. "Save your thanks to Lady Erica. " He said rolling his eyes. "I was fine with you wearing your rags." He said. He said throwing the clothes to her face. Evelyn closed her eyes when she felt the harsh impact of the clothes on h

"I am not a perv," John replied. Then it finally dawned on him that he needed to excuse her so that she could get dressed. His cheeks were slightly flustered" Oh really? You're not a perv?" She chuckled."But if you were not, why on earth did you

"Finally." Sullivan sighed. "I was beginning to think that perhaps Evelyn had murdered you." Evelyn smiled inwardly while John sneered at her."She couldn't even if she dared." He groaned. "But we do have more important things to focus on right now."Sullivan sighed, his desire momentarily giving way to the weight of their responsibilities. "You're right," he admitted reluctantly. "There's a lot at stake."Erica's expression softened as she cupped his face in her hands. "We'll get through this," she assured him. "Together."Sullivan nodded, his resolve strengthening. "Together," he echoed.A knock on the door interrupted their moment, and a maid stepped in, bowing respectfully. As dawn broke, a soft light filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over the room. Erica stirred, the events of the previous day rushing back to her. Sullivan was already awake, sitting at the small desk by the window, poring over maps and documents. He looked up as Erica sat up in bed, stretching."Morning my love." he greeted her with a tired smile. "Did you manage to get some rest?""Some," Erica replied, running a hand through her hair. "I see you didn't sleep much."Sullivan shrugged. "There's too much to be done. I was going over our plans for the South. We need to be ready for anything."Erica got out of bed and joined him at the desk. "Let's review everything once more before we meet with our supporters."Sullivan nodded, handing her a sheet of paper.
