"Alright, I'll be there now."
Aland had just finished all of his work at both JF Groups and the mega-corruption-ridden Reynolds Industries in one sitting in his office. In a hurry, he made his way to the lift, and then down to the ground floor to head to the parking space where his car was.Without hesitation, Aland drove off, cutting through the deserted city streets in the middle of the day. Quickly, he passed by each building without thinking again about Arthur's and Camellia's whereabouts.Unfortunately, there was a car that had been following Aland's car ever since he first left JF Groups. Their grins were horrifying, especially when Aland's car could be easily overtaken."I thought he was too clever to hide his wife. But look at him now. He'll even be our guide to his young pregnant wife."Arthur nodded, confirming. Then glanced at the carry-on bag placed in the rear cabin."There's still plenty of money left, Lia. What if, after this, we steal Shannon'"Do you think I'm the foolish one, huh?"Lia immediately followed Aland's car, even from a distance. She didn't want to lose another chance after escaping the trap set by Aland. Although inevitably, she had to risk Arthur's existence for her safety. While looking at the map in her hand, she tried to surmise where Aland would lead. Throughout the night, she had tried to find Shannon at the old Fischer home, as well as the new one, but she could not find her there. There was no other way but to follow Aland to find the whereabouts of the young pregnant step-sister. At a below-average speed, she kept Aland's car within eyesight. Unfortunately, Aland's car was not heading towards the hospital area as she had expected."Where exactly did he hide her?"Suddenly, she remembered Arthur's request the night before. She remembered every detail of the sentence Arthur had given her when Arthur contacted her before the accident."Did you hear me? Come and help us surround
"I'm fine, and it will still be fine to see you and Junior Shannon. Really am."Shannon remained silent, waiting for Aland's unspoken promise. Her gaze was sharp enough, as if to remind him to keep his promise no matter what, to make Aland blush."Okay, I promise. Are you happy now?"Shannon nodded slowly with a friendly smile. She hugged Aland's right arm so that she could express her delayed indulgence."Since we promised, can we go home now, Aland? I'm really tired of staying here all day long. I wanted to call Pete and ask how he was doing, but Cedric told me not to."Aland got up slowly and grasped Shannon's hand tightly. "Want to go out for dinner?"Suddenly, Shannon nodded quickly. She got up and hugged Aland's arm tightly. She followed him out of the room without changing her clothes."Are you taking me to a hotel? Or dinner at a restaurant with a beautiful view? Or are we going to eat in front of a sandy beach with the sound of waves crashing?"
Aland and Shannon had just finished enjoying a lovely dinner on the rooftop with the breeze when suddenly there was a noise from below. Instead of going down and checking, Aland looked over the guardrail to see what was going on.Unfortunately, Aland's eyes went wide when he realised that his first line of security guards was lying helpless. The few people who saw it occasionally contacted the police to perform the first treatment.Aland swallowed hard. He slowly reached for his phone while calming his heart, that was beating faster. It was not fear that he felt, but worry that something would happen to his wife and son. He approached Shannon quietly, then tried to remain calm while sending a warning message to Joe and Cedric on guard.Surprisingly, he got no response. Still anxious, Aland couldn't help but call Frey for help. Of course, after he slightly moved away from the romantic dining table provided by Cedric earlier."I think Lia found us, Mr Frey. Can you sen
"No! You're lying! Tell me you're lying, Shannon! You just wanna punish me! Tell me you don't really know everything!"Lia was led up the locked stairs after Shannon was taken down in the lift. Throughout the journey, Lia continued to cry, recalling all of her fond memories with Shannon as a child. With her hands cuffed behind her back, Lia was taken downstairs by Frey and Allen. Meanwhile, Shannon was immediately taken to the nearest hospital for treatment with Aland, who continued to cry bitterly."You'll be fine, hun. Nothing will happen to you. You know that, don't you?"Shannon's increasingly pale face could only nod slowly. She touched Aland's face, which had not stopped crying even though she was no longer in pain."I'm fine, Aland. I'm no longer in pain. It's just that I'm sleepy. Really sleepy. I can't stand anymore."The nurse accompanying Shannon tried to keep her talking."Mrs Fischer, it only takes two minutes again to get to the hospital. Pl
"What are you talking about, Lia? Are you drunk? Is someone influencing you? Who? Shannon? What does she know about us? We've been homeless for so long and her dad fell in love with me. It's the greatest gift of all! Isn't it wrong of me to demand what we deserve as a complete family?"Lia laughed sadly. She looked at Jill in disbelief as she shook her head slowly."I don't know what made me forget everything. But when I met my dad, I found the key. Your words were my first key to remembering everything. Everything, Ms Sophie."Suddenly, Jill's eyes widened. She backed away again even further with eyes full of disbelief. Her eyes blinked rapidly, as if trying to throw off all the shadows that were now in front of them.Lia approached with an indecipherable expression. Her eyes were bright red, with tears hanging in her eyes, and with a smile that could not be imagined before."See? Yes, Ms Sophie. I remember everything. Dad came and married you. Then indoctrinate
"You shouldn't have asked, Pete. You should have just woken me up."Suddenly, a surprised Shannon glanced at Aland who had woken up over dinner. She grabbed Aland's hand to grip it."I'm sorry for having to get up. But I think eating together will make us bond more with Junior."Suddenly, Aland's face who had just woken up turned pale. So did Pete who swallowed hard before finally clearing his throat."I guess I haven't bought mineral water and salad yet. So, I'll be back as soon as possible."Unfortunately, Shannon refused. She held Pete back from eating what she had bought rather than bothering Pete again, who was like a dad to her."We'll eat what you got, Pete. No need to buy anything else. Whatever it is, I'll eat it as long as we eat together."Pete let out a long sigh. He nodded his head slowly before sitting back down on the stool at the dining table.Aland tried to string words together. Like it or not, he had to tell Shannon the truth even t
Accompanied by Aland, Shannon has just entered the police station with a reliable lawyer. In front of the interrogation room, Shannon, Aland, and Pete were being questioned about Jill Reynolds, whose old case was now reopened after Camellia's testimony last night was revealed. "Every night, I used to hear my mum sing a song before finally going back to tell Camellia about the past that she kept repeating. At first, I just felt horrible every time I heard Mum's story. But after she found out that I had peeped at her, she no longer forgot to lock the door. Anyway, ever since both of them first came home, Mum has been busy putting Lia to bed. And it was only recently that I realised that the music was digital brainwave stimulation music that could penetrate the brainwave frequency, and then continued with the story that Jill had built up, as if that was what had actually happened. Maybe that's why Camellia had forgotten her past." Frey nodded in confirmation after c
Both of Shannon's hands were on the table, trying to welcome Lia's hand, that was no longer handcuffed to the prisoner's clothes. Shannon's head nodded slowly, convincing Lia to hold her hand even though there were many people guarding Shannon, as if Lia were someone who could no longer be trusted. Camellia hesitated. She lifted her hand slowly, then welcomed the hand of Shannon, who sat across the table. Her eyes glazed over when she saw Shannon smiling sincerely at her. "Because I know that the Camellia I know is still the kind Camellia who accompanied me at school. Who looked after me when it rained? Who played in the snow with me when mum was busy." Suddenly, Aland also looked down because he was holding a tightness in his chest. He knew he could never find another good woman out there who resembled his beloved wife. In fact, it wasn't just Aland, even Camellia herself burst into tears. She even immediately got up and moved, hugging Shanno
