Both of Shannon's hands were on the table, trying to welcome Lia's hand, that was no longer handcuffed to the prisoner's clothes. Shannon's head nodded slowly, convincing Lia to hold her hand even though there were many people guarding Shannon, as if Lia were someone who could no longer be trusted.

Camellia hesitated. She lifted her hand slowly, then welcomed the hand of Shannon, who sat across the table. Her eyes glazed over when she saw Shannon smiling sincerely at her.

"Because I know that the Camellia I know is still the kind Camellia who accompanied me at school. Who looked after me when it rained? Who played in the snow with me when mum was busy."

Suddenly, Aland also looked down because he was holding a tightness in his chest. He knew he could never find another good woman out there who resembled his beloved wife.

In fact, it wasn't just Aland, even Camellia herself burst into tears. She even immediately got up and moved, hugging Shanno

"What if you keep harassing her, Aland? We have to help Lia, don't we? Didn't you see her change earlier? She's even regretted all her rash actions. We could just do her a favour, get her an experienced lawyer, then make her sentence as low as possible with all her remorse."Aland shook his head slowly. He was busy preparing some materials for a meeting with some shareholders regarding the money from Lia's corruption. After all, the shareholders had full rights to the money that had been stolen over the years."If you do that, she will never learn from her mistakes. Lia even asked you not to do anything, didn't she? She's already asked you not to commute her sentence. She may have changed, but her punishment cannot be changed, Shannon. Camellia must accept her punishment. Let them walk in the destiny they have made, hun."Shannon paused, then sat down in front of Aland, who was still busy behind the desk. She looked at Aland's face, which was still serious as he stared a

"What can I find out about Arthur, Shannon? Just like with Jill. I can't trust anything of his answers. One thing is for sure, I need no more from Arthur now that everything is put back in its proper place and seeing him punished makes me so content."Shannon nodded in understanding, then lovingly straightened Aland's tie."If that makes you happy, I'll be happy too. At least we'll still be together, heading to our future world."Aland glanced at the clock on his wrist and immediately kissed Shannon lightly on the cheek."It's time, Shannon. Go lead the meeting and amaze them again with that brilliant woman of yours." Aland's hands clenched into fists, encouraging his wife with a smile.Shannon laughed even harder. She covered her mouth with her right forefinger before nodding and leaving. "Goodbye, Aland. Drive carefully and lemme know if you find out anything."Aland held both thumbs up to his chest and left Shannon's room at Reynolds Industries for the par

Aland had just arrived at JF Moulding when Henry greeted him with a beaming smile. He hugs Henry gently and heads to the upgraded design workspace. Two well-organised desks at the far end of the room, with the best lighting, allowed Henry and his new partner to work to their full potential."Is your room working well?" Aland asked curiously.Although the idea of an overhauled workspace did come from him, the arrangement and creation of appropriate furniture was the wish of Henry and his partner according to function and needs.Obviously, Henry nodded in affirmation. "We were really helped, Mr Fischer. Thank you for trusting us.""It's my pleasure, Mr Henry. If you give us your best at work, why can't we give you the best place for your best work?"Henry welcomed Aland in to demonstrate the prototype furniture, which was immediately functional. He pointed out the side of the desk that was attached to the reading cabinet."This looks like a normal desk, Mr Fisc

"Sorry, but can you say it again, Aland? Where are you going?"Shannon's question, which was filled with indecision, made Aland pause for a moment, before finally providing the information about the Duke get from Pete."Since the beginning, I've been curious about Jill's case, Hun. And see, it's evident that your mum planned everything from the beginning. About Duke, how did she get a lawyer who was willing to help with Jill's secret case, who vanished on the way to take his client to move and certify the client's new identity? And how can Jill feel so innocent when she meets Duke's brother? One thing is for sure, Shannon. Your mum has her eye on everything. From the Reynolds' lawyer, to the lawyer's family, to where they live, to how to gain their sympathy without paying. And look. She's really on top of things in just over a year. After that, what else? Your dad's death. And I'm also sure your dad's death was deliberate on Jill's part. Just like my dad's death."Hearin

"Where are you going, hun? Just leave it. I'll wash all the dishes myself. Get some rest, please. You're tired from working all day long," Aland coaxed. He had taken over all the dishes that Shannon wanted to take to the washing sink. But Shannon insisted on cleaning them herself. After all, if she didn't want to be considered missing from the household. Both of her hands took back the pile of dishes that her husband had previously held back."I haven't contributed at all to cooking dinner, Aland. At least lemme contribute by cleaning up.""No, Shannon." This time, Aland did not want to restrain himself. In front of Pete, who had given him so much advice, he was not at all shy about showing his affection for his beloved wife. "Listen, Shannon. "Will Smith? So early morning? Don't joke around!"Jill's eyes widened in excitement. Because the clock had not yet struck seven when Will Smith came to visit the nearby police station.Jill wasn't the only one who was surprised. Even Arthur, who was sleeping soundly, immediately woke up when he heard Smith's name mentioned by the police officer on duty.Camellia heard the same thing clearly. Although her curiosity was peaked, she suppressed her curiosity as much as possible so that she wouldn't have to talk to Jill for too long.Unfortunately, Jill was immediately bemused when the officer on duty nodded in confirmation."Did you hear that? Instead of calling and defending Arthur, who has been his client for a long time, Will Smith called me without me having to ask. He knows who to defend. That's why he came here before anyone else."From the prison on the side, a yawning Arthur was startled and got up hurriedly. "Don't be too happy, mum. I know Mr Smith lik

Jill got up with an angry look. Her hands pounded on the table even though her hands were still firmly bound."Are you trying to set me up, huh? How could I tell you something I know absolutely nothing about? He just wanted to go take a call, then didn't come back. So is it my fault that he left me alone by the side of the road? On a frontier that wasn't as crowded as it is now? I even tried my hardest to survive! I didn't eat or drink for three days! And only asked for help from passing drivers! And now you're making a big deal out of it now? How dare you, huh?"Will Smith let out his umpteenth long sigh. His hands came together, clenched around each other."He excused himself because he needed to pee. Even his phone was in the car. And you called the police after a day of waiting. Why is your statement now different from the one you gave to the media a long time ago? Why, Mrs Reynolds? What are you hiding from the world?"Jill didn't feel guilty at all. Instead, sh

"Who do you think bought this house, Aland?"Aland sniggered. Hearing the name of the man Mr Wick mentioned, he had no answer."I think it's probably just an unlucky person, Mr Smith. I mean, not unlucky to buy this house, just maybe because he wanted to get married and bought this house with his bride. But I don't think they actually got married.""Something happened before the wedding, you mean?" asked Smith curiously. Being almost forty-five years old made Smith think hard. Especially when he saw Duke's belongings that had never even been put away. "I think this still belongs to Duke. It has his initials on it.""He would write his initials on each of his belongings?" asked Aland with concern. Not without reason, he saw for himself that there were many items that had the letters DS written on the bottom right corner. He glanced at Will Smith, who was busy unpacking some files in a bookcase at the end of the room."Yes. I used to hate it when I saw him writ

"I do," Arthur said as he took out a red velvet box from beneath his luxurious clothes. He placed a simple ring with a single jewel on Dwyane's finger, which looked beautiful in his eyes. After that, the priest began to lead the prayers. It didn't take long for the two to sign the marriage contract.Although Arthur's second wedding ceremony was only held at the nearest church in the neighbourhood of the hospital, the happiness was evident on his pale face. He had been a wheelchair user for more than two hours, enduring the pain in his solar plexus after his surgery five days ago. There were only seven people in the church to witness Arthur's far from simple wedding. No party, no food. Only Shannon, Aland, Pete, Will Smith, John Benedict, Phil Allen, and Edward Frey, the officer who uncovered Arthur's many hidden cases. The first-born was given to Arthur, even though he was in a wheelchair. Seeing Arthur's weakening condition, the priest rushed the blessing and lighti

"I'm going to file for a marriage annulment. So, will you be my lover, Dwyane?"Arthur's request just after Camellia disconnected the call made Dwyane melt. She burst into tears as he approached Arthur, who was still lying in the cage."Why just lovers? You can get married after cancelling your previous marriage," Aland said from the sofa.Aland immediately got up and approached with both hands in each of his trouser pockets. He grabbed his laptop before moving on, as he did not even get a response from his brother.Arthur was silent. Not only him, even Dwyane didn't know what to say when he was in the middle of such an awkward situation. As he put his work laptop in his bag, Aland spoke up again to help."I'll talk to Mr Smith right away. "Are you sure you're okay?"Camellia asked from a distance. The look of concern was visible, but it was not savoured by Arthur as he had savoured the anxiety on Dwyane's face earlier. The two were now connected through a call Aland had made to Mr Cavill, who was visiting his daughter. Using a phone and a laptop, the two were now face to face, even though it was only through a call connection.Arthur nodded in response to his wife's question at the end of the call. Unfortunately, he could not take his attention away from Dwyane, who was busy writing in the corner of the room."I'm fine, Lia. What about you? Did mum cause trouble again? Did she hurt you?"Although she sounded more concerned than before, Lia knew very well that it was just a pep talk from her husband. She shook her head slowly as she wiped away tears with her sleeve."Listen to me, Arthur. I asked dad to contact Aland so I could connect with you like this for some reason. Although I just found o

Arthur blinked softly. His eyes squinted as the glare of the lights greeted him as he woke up after being in a state of emergency because of heavy blood loss.Instead of finding Dwyane or Lia, he saw Aland sitting with his head bowed on the edge of the bed. Her eyes closed again to make sure before finally looking back at who was beside him.It was the same man he hated to death before. Aland.Arthur's hand moved towards Aland's closed head, hiding his face, when he suddenly saw movement from the sofa. Quickly, Arthur pretended to close his eyes again, as if he hadn't woken up from a long sleep.Dwyane was shocked to death when he looked at the clock. It was almost night and Arthur had not woken up. This was contrary to the information received from the doctor earlier.Slowly, Dwyane woke up Aland, who had fallen asleep by accident. "Mr Fischer. It's already dark. Shouldn't you be going home?"The surprised Aland got up hurriedly. He looked over to where Arth

"What else this time, Dwyane?"Arthur's question made Dwyane shake her head slowly. She plugged the flash disc into the laptop she had brought with her. She positioned it so that the screen was facing the direction where Arthur was."I haven't seen it myself, Arthur. You can see for yourself. This was given to me by Aland. He said it was a precious gift for you."Hearing Aland's name, Arthur rose lazily. He shook his head, refusing to see what he really wanted to show."No, Dwyane. That's enough. The other day you brought me the news you secretly heard from him. And it really kept me up all night long. Now what? Are they planning to frustrate me here?"Dwyane shook her head slowly. She was just trying to keep Arthur's attention back on what Aland was about to show him."No, Arthur. The other day, the possibility that I was wrong was quite high. Aland said that sometimes there is some information that is missed and contributes greatly to misunderstandings. Tha

"Since when did you become so talkative, Cobb?"Jill's counterattack made Aland pause. "What did you say? Sorry, but can you say it again?"Shannon's request was not without reason. For the first time, she sat in Will Smith's room with Pete and her husband to explain everything.Aland closed his eyes and smiled faintly. "Sophie? You're trying to defame our orphanage just because of Sophie's case? Do you also want to examine all the children in this orphanage so that you can be satisfied with your judgement, Mr Fischer?"Aland turned to Shannon briefly before leaning forward, trying to calm him down. "Listen to me, Mr Flitch. This is not what you think it is. We're not here to make a statement or to judge your orphanage as bad, no. I'm just here because there's something wrong. I'm only here because there's something I wanna to know. About Sophie. That's all. We will never tell anyone that Sophie is from here. After all, the whole of the UK knows that Sophie's dangerous behaviour is not the result of someone's upbringing, but her disposition, which may never change even twenty years later. We're just looking into her bloodline. That's all."Dom Flitch squinted with an angry gaze. His previously cupped hands immediately came closer, watching Aland and Shannon's movements that seemed so d
