With a sigh, Anita conceded to Adrian’s apology as she finally spoke. “I won’t lie and say I wasn’t hurt by the photo,” she admitted, her voice small yet steady.

“But I didn’t want to jump to conclusions. That’s why I asked for an explanation. And now that you’ve explained…” She paused, closing her eyes to take a deep, breath before opening them and continuing, “I forgive you.”

The bout of anxiety Adrian felt faded into relief as he gently squeezed Anita’s hand a bit more. “Thank you for believing me…and forgiving me,” he said sincerely.

But he noticed that she still wore a sad expression and his forehead pinched. It seemed there’s was something else weighing on her mind.

“Anita,” he called out softly, making her focus fall back on him. “You look worried. Is there anything else bothering you?”
