Adrian’s eyes widened as it dawned on him that a bullet had struck him, and he stumbled backwards from the scorching pain that shot up his chest. He clutched his heart and felt the warm liquid seeping through his hands. When he looked down, he saw that the crimson color was quickly spreading throughout his chest and dripping down his hands at an even faster rate.
