CHAPETER SEVENTY-EIGHT

Officer Helene looked at Lily and Matilda.

She said, “Alright, ma’am. I’ll keep you in touch.”

She then nodded at Kevin and said, “Let’s go.”

Kevin turned to Lily and said,

“Go home and rest up. I’ll be back soon.”

Then he and Officer Helene left the Jones mansion.

Matilda turned to Lily and said,

“Lily, thank you very much for standing up for me. If it weren’t for you and Kevin, only God knows what that man would have done to me.”

Lily looked at her with concern filled her eyes.

“Matilda, you did not deserve any of this.”

Matilda nodded her head and went back to the Jones mansion.

Kevin sat down in the front seat of Officer Helene’s car.

She went towards the gate of the city.

After about ten minutes, Kevin asked her

“Aren’t we going to the police station?”

He knew that were not in the right neighborhood.

“You know the police station pretty well, don’t you?”

Officer Helene gave him an odd look and smiled.

“Hey, don’t look at me like that.” Kevin said.
