CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIX

As they were driving out to the mansion, Kevin couldn’t help asking Lily.

“Didn’t we just hold a family meeting yesterday?”

“After you left with Officer Helene, we were told that Lucas Bernard would be held for an arraignment. So his deal with the family ended up falling through.”

Lily explained.

Lily had pretty much given up on them after their cold reactions towards what Lucas did to Matilda yesterday.

Kevin was sure that nothing was going to come out of this meeting.

When they reached the mansion, Kevin walked Lily up to the front door.

“Maybe you shouldn’t go in.”

“If I don’t go in, they’ll blame you for everything, Lily.”

Kevin said as he took Lily’s hands and comforted her,

“Don’t be afraid. I’m used to being insulted. It doesn’t really matter because I don’t give a damn what they think.”

Lily was touched when she heard this.

She understood what exactly he meant.

Then she remembered how Kevin didn’t hesitate to fight with Bernard yesterday.
