CHAPTER FIFTY

“In any case, I owe you my thanks. I will treat you to dinner some other day.”

After Officer Helene said this, she headed out towards Squad car and left.

The owners of the neighboring antique shops also left.

Ivy slowly walked to Kevin and said very sincerely, “Thank you.”

“No need to thank me, it was my pleasure.” Kevin said with a smile.

When Ivy heard him say this, a faint smile appeared on her face.

“By the way, I could tell through your discussion of the pearls that you know a lot about this subject. Have you had any old training in antique appraisal?”

Kevin thought for a second and said,

“I used to know an old gentleman who thought me a lot about antiques.”

What Kevin didn’t expect was that Ivy would be so curious and excited to hear this.

She asked him,

“Are you still in touch with him? Do you know his name and address?”

Ivy gave Kevin a hopeful look. She wondered how he had been able to see through the deception at a single glance.

He obviously knew things that she didn’t.
