The Talk

She was born on a Sunday, it was particularly warm. The sky was an expanse of sapphire blue, lined with white tendrils of fluffy clouds. 

The sun beamed beautifully that day. Esther began. 

Zackary noticed the sudden spark of life on the old woman's voice. The way her tone pitched a bit higher and her lips marred with the slightest touch of a smile proved that she was feeling better. 

"I just got home from church when the madam went into labor" Esther

continued.

Zackary made a mental note to keep himself focused on her story, pushing any other thoughts he had aside.

The madam was so scared when she was in labor. I cannot put to words how much she screamed and kicked at everyone that day. 

It was bad enough that we have to keep everything sterile, since she and the master decided to have the baby

delivered at home.
