Chapter 6 A Massive Investment
Vincent was so stunned that he fell off his chair. How could ten billion dollars be only spare change to him? Who was he? Who in the world had he offended?

"Marc—No, Mr. Coleman! I made a mistake! I know what I did wrong, so please, forgive me!" He scrambled to his knees and clung to Marcus' legs as he begged for mercy.

At this point in time, it didn't matter whether or not he could remain the general manager of Globestone Investments. What was more important was that someone who could fork out ten billion dollars with the snap of his fingers could probably get rid of him equally easily!

"Sorry, but it's too late!" Marcus sneered and sat in the seat Vincent had just vacated.

At this moment, the office's door swung open, and close to ten people hurried in to form two neat lines. Their faces were plastered with fear.

They were precisely Globestone Investments' senior executives.

When they'd heard about the change in ownership, they immediately hurried over to meet their new boss.

Marcus glanced at them and knew, at once, that Murray had arranged for them to be here.

"Looks like Murray's pretty efficient, after all," he began. "Alright, I'll cut to the chase. Dig up everything and anything on Vincent; I want to see results in a week!" he said domineeringly, giving his first command as their new superior.

"Yes, sir! I won't disappoint you!" the senior executive in charge responded.

In that instant, Vincent felt like he'd been struck by lightning and almost passed out.

Throughout his tenure as Globestone Investments' general manager, he'd abused his power and gotten involved in countless shady dealings. If they were to investigate him, he'd be dead meat!

Marcus ignored him and turned to the pretty woman who was pouring him a cup of coffee. "I forgot to ask—what's your name? How long have you been working here?"

This woman also happened to be the receptionist who'd received him earlier.

"My name's Wendy Snowden, sir. I've worked here for the past five years." Wendy's heart raced, secretly relieved that she hadn't offended Marcus earlier.

"Wonderful. From today onward, Wendy will be the company's new general manager, and all of your salaries will be doubled. If any of you have any objection to the appointment of the new general manager or wish to cause a scene, you can fuck off right now."

Marcus made sure to temper justice with mercy so he could make the senior executives submit to him. As for why he'd appointed Wendy as the general manager, he admired her professional attitude. Having her as the general manager would make it easier for Globestone Investments to work with Vivian.

"Thank you, sir!" Wendy looked a little teary. She'd graduated from a renowned university abroad and was fully capable of handling higher responsibilities.

However, she'd been relegated to the front desk for the past five years because she'd refused to sleep with Vincent to climb up the ladder. This was finally her time to shine!

Marcus nodded coolly. He had her stay behind and waited until everyone else had left to tell her about the Lorimer Group. "Remember, you can only deal with Vivian for this investment. Also, don't let her know I'm the owner of Globestone Investments. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, sir!" Wendy nodded seriously.

Deep down, she envied Vivian for having such an outstanding husband. She must've saved the planet in a previous life to deserve this!

After making sure everything had been settled, Marcus left Globestone Investments.

"Honey, over here!" Marcus stood outside the Lorimer Group's building and kept a hand on his motorcycle while waving the other in the air.

"Honestly, what are you up to? I'm gonna make a bank run to see whether or not I can get any loans. The whole company's just waiting to see me make a fool out of myself; I can't give up just like this!" Vivian forced out through gritted teeth.

She had a gentle, dainty appearance, but on the inside, she was as stubborn as a mule.

Marcus chuckled. "Who dares to make fun of my wife? Come on, I'll take you somewhere where you can get a massive investment!" He patted the seat of his motorcycle.

"Ugh, stop this!" Vivian felt like slapping the grin off his face.

She turned to leave, but Marcus swept her off her feet and plopped her onto the motorcycle after she'd only taken a step.

"Why, you—" Her face turned red. This was the first time in their three years of marriage that Marcus had been so intimate with her.

Half an hour later, Marcus parked the motorcycle and led Vivian to a building. "We're here!"

Vivian stared up at Globestone Investment's towering building and forced out through gritted teeth, "Don't tell me you want me to head in there to negotiate with them!"

Globestone Investments was valued at tens of millions of dollars. It was definitely a force to be reckoned with. It wasn't just one of Cromford City's most powerful entities; it was among the top ten most prominent investment companies in Camron state!

"Yeah, I've asked Murray—Mr. Fletcher to make an appointment with their general manager. Go on in! I'll be waiting here for your good news!" Marcus urged her on, afraid she would keep pressing him for more details.

"Murray Fletcher arranged this? Alright, then."

If Marcus had told her he'd pulled some strings, she wouldn't have believed him for a second, but if he'd asked Murray for help … She couldn't help but feel expectant. "You're dead meat if you've lied to me, Marcus, you hear me?"

With that, she took a deep breath and entered the building. Soon enough, a gentle voice rang out.

"Welcome! Are you Ms. Vivian Lorimer?"
