Many of the guests at the wedding reception became uneasy. They moved uneasily in their seats.

It was obvious that Martha's comment about Ethan jinxing the wedding made them uncomfortable.

Their disdainful expressions were suddenly directed towards Ethan.

Martha chuckled, enjoying the effects of her actions.

“That's beautiful, they are looking beyond the tuxedo! They now are you for the wretch that you are!”

Ethan gritted his teeth, his temper suddenly boiling.

He had purposely been ignoring Martha's ranting so as not to bring unnecessary attention to himself. He was here because of Loretta, so was trying so hard not to stir up any trouble or allow any for that matter to happen.

But it was beginning to seem like the more silent he went, the more persistent Martha became.

“Where is that lady friend of yours anyway? Don't tell me she's realized just how useless you are and has already dumped your sorry ass,’’ Martha continued. Her persistence even surprised Ethan.
