Chapter 8: Their Beginning!

Since yesterday when we arrived at Norem Palace, Seji has asked me several times, "Master Raze, are you sure he's not a threat?"

He is currently seated on the right side of the dining table, next to me. Feria was standing next to him and was completely silent.

We are anticipating the king's arrival.

It's just the three of us here. So Seji can freely speak what he wants. Even though I have said many times that the king of the Norem Kingdom can be trusted… especially when it comes to his adopted son. And that's me.

"He is." Right after I said that the king arrived with Kyle and the knight name Anoe.

None of them spoke. The king sat quietly in his own seat in front while the other two were on either side of him. But I saw Kyle turning his gaze in my direction. He wasn't here yesterday when we arrived.

As far as I know, he is taking care of something important in the other village. He is what the king expects when it comes to conflict in every town in the Norem Kingdom. Anoe is in security. He commands each of the knights. Apparently he is the 'Knight Commander.'

I don't know what kind of change happened when I went to the Forbidden Land which is now Zyber Land. Is it still forbidden to leave and enter the other kingdom?

"I have great news for you, Raze." The king started after he coughed three times. He looked at me so seriously that I raised my left eyebrow because I couldn't understand what he was implying.

“Great news?” I asked him back. I turned to Kyle who shook with a big smile. Anoe just gave a slow nod.

"Yeah. This past ten years, the X Kingdom and the Guildmasters decided to change the usual activities before becoming official adventurers. You can join the guild that you wanted without enrolling in S High,” he said, then took a glance at my fellow. “But who's them? I didn't have a chance to ask them yesterday."

"Oh! These are my comrades, whom I accidentally met inside the Forbidden Land.” I looked at the two, I gave them the signal to speak.

"Hello, my name is Seji!" An ordinary spearman! " The first man introduces himself.

In fact, I was the one who told him that if he introduced himself, he would have to conceal his identity. Because if everyone discovers he is a demon, the people here will most likely not let him go alive.

"What happened to Forbidden Land? And why have ten years passed?”

"That's what we wanted to know too." I just replied to him.

I noticed in the king's face that he still had a lot of questions and so did Kyle. But they didn't speak anymore. They didn't even open a topic about Forbidden Land and the same goes for Adventurer.

They have already told me what I should know. It was also the right time for me to go to the Forbidden Land, if I hadn't done that I might have been training at the hands of King Morzen. It's really good that I put my preferences first! Aha!

But,

I felt a little guilty for not notifying the king of the truth. I feel that he can be trusted, just in case there is still a part of me that doesn't want me to tell about the emergence of the floating island that is now called Zyber Land.

A week passed. Today we are traveling to the kingdom of X. We should have left the next day if the king did not allow us. He still wants me to stay in the kingdom for a week.

Sometimes he shows fatherhood to me. I just shook my head because of his action toward me. Why not just find a person that he could marry and have a child with them?

The king didn't come with us to the X Kingdom, only his staff Kyle. Anoe continued his work. It just gave me a warning and even information.

Warning for Guildmasters and who are eligible Guilds for us to enter. He suggested that it is better to join the Swerdion Guild because it doesn't matter if you are strong or weak.

This is where the commoners gather but the physical body is undeniable of a high rank. But it still depends on the level.

As far as I remember, there are only seven Guilds now, instead of decades or centuries ago, there were more than fifteen or twenty Guilds. There are thirty or forty too.

Due to each Guildmaster's fight, it decreased. The only ones left are the strong and prefer to remain silent or have a peaceful life.

The leading Guild is the Reverox Guild. Here we can find those who are great in power and even in physical strength. They are always hired by the kingdom to do missions. But because of being the first, the adventurers also look like money than helping.

Second is the Veindever Guild. They are the main suppliers of healing potions, be it high or ordinary potions. Due to various accidents occurring in the X Kingdom, immediate help from them is more needed. They're the same with Reverox Guild, too.

The third is the Quider Guild. These are witches. La Li Destra Guild was fourth, followed by Beast Tamer Guild, Pyron Reeg Guild, and lastly Swerdion Guild.

Even though this guild is at an end, high-ranking ones have been sent to go on missions many times. It depends on what type they will face. Of the seven guilds that the X Kingdom has, only the Swerdion Guild doesn't look like money. But they have one problem, they can't keep up with the Guilds when it comes to strong opponents.

"We're here," Kyle said. I regained my senses before putting my face out the window of the carriage.

I saw different types of people coming in and out of the X Kingdom's border. I can't see the inside because the wall is too high. Maybe it's about a hundred people in rows.

There were also carriages before us. Because there are so many people, it will take us a while.

“Kyle, we're gonna go down!” I said. He turned to me worriedly. But he just smiled sparingly when he understood what I was going for.

"All right. Just be careful inside, especially you, Raze. If the king finds out that something bad has happened to you, he might start a war with the X Kingdom.” he reminds me. That made me laugh awkwardly.

I know the king well too.

"Hahaha! Don't worry, Kyle. I can handle myself!” I just answered.

So he decided to head back. He signaled to the carriage driver after we got out. As the carriage turned out of the distance, I saw Kyle waving inside. I did the same, especially the two.

We spent a few more minutes outside before we decided to turn our attention to our rear. We even turned to each other and smiled with meaning.

“Let's go to the Guild!”

"Yes!" They answered what I mumbled at the same time and began walking inside.

'Now, what would happen to me, to us, inside the X Kingdom?'
