10. Punishment!

The Great Divine Academy, canteen area

The canteen area is the place where students can relax and eat whatever food they want. Since the academy has hired several experienced high-level chefs the food in the canteen is always the best you can find anywhere.

This is the only place where you are treated equal, even if you are a noble or commoner, even if you are talented or not, everyone can eat as much as they want and can enjoy the food in peace, since fighting is ban in the canteen area. No one wants to be punished, so there has never been a cause of trouble in the canteen.

Obviously, the protagonist Mark is an exception, how would a disaster magnet not attract trouble he already has fought with some cannon fodder students, who wanted to mess with him. After he beat up them all, he was taken to the teacher’s office for his wrongdoings.

Mira was also enjoying the food in the canteen; the food was so good in quality that it was making her remember her home. She was happy to eat among the other children due to the same reason that the food is just too delicious.

Obviously, just like other heirs of the Five great families she was also surrounded by the students who were preventing anyone from disturbing her peaceful time.

During the time to eat there’s bound to be some talk among the students though:

“Did you hear the first-year knight student Mark was sent to teacher’s office for punishment”

“Seriously man, what was that guy even thinking. Fighting here is clearly ban.”

“Maybe he is just one of the weakling students of the knight class who fainted on the very first day of training.”

“oh, it can be true, but what was they even fighting for?”

“well I don’t know if it’s true or not but it seems he was boasting that the knight students are very strong, to which some of the students got enraged.”

“eh, but I think the other students provoked him first saying that he is a trash and insulted their knight class.”

“so, which of the teacher is going to give him punishment?”

“Hmm, since he is from the knight class, their class teacher should be the one punishing him, I think”

“Oh, I remember their class teacher is that person, who has recently joined the academy, right.”

Hearing the students talk Mira’s mood became worse. It would have not been a problem if they were just insulting the knights but the problem is that one of the students of her class has caused a ruckus.

She knew that this incident can cause a problem for them. Their training difficulty for the very first day was already too high. Yet if Neo got enraged by this incident, he might make their training even more hellish than it is now.

In the end she shook her head and came to the conclusion, that nothing can be done about this situation now and will have to face the situation if it comes. After enjoying her food, she got up and left for the teacher’s office, afterall she has to know about the situation, since she is the head student of her class.

Its her duty to keep track of every student, of their class and know how to act as a bridge between their teacher and the student colleagues.

Walking towards the teacher’s office she asked her followers about the office no. of Neo. It was the No. 75 it seems. While walking towards the office she remembered the time when Neo was still in the family.

Neo is her older sibling and is the third son of their father. Mira have 3 brothers and 4 sisters. In total there are total 8 direct descendants of the Milan family. Every child has their talents and weaknesses. The first in the line of succession is her now because she has awakened the class Sword Saint.

Only the child who awakens this class is considered the heir of the family. Others children who awakens other classes than this are always treated lower than her. Even her eldest sibling who is already about 30 years old is not considered the heir to the family, because he didn’t awaken the class of sword saint.

In every generation there’s only one child who can awaken the class which is inherited from the family. All the five great families have a particular class which is inherited by one of the children in the family and makes them the only heir of the family.

Other children become the elders of the family after they grow up. But Neo was a rare case. Neither his class was related to swordsmanship nor he had any talent for sword. Every noble child receives training from the age of five. So was true for Neo too, along with other siblings.

But he didn’t have any talent for sword since childhood and his progress speed in swordsmanship was also very slow. Generally, children of Milan family train their body with a sword in order to awaken a class related to sword. But the main factor is luck, on which your class depends.

After walking for half an hour, she was already in the corridor leading to the office, she calmed her mind and walked towards the office. She was surprised to see that Mark was standing outside the office and was hesitating to enter the door. He seems to be in great stress.

Well, she can understand, who would like to meet Neo. Afterall there’s several bad rumors spreading about him, not to mention they have already witnessed his cold personality during their first class.

“should we go inside together” (Mira)

Mark was surprised to see that the same girl who has caused him to be punished on his very first day was talking to him. But this time she seemed to be in his favor. Last time the punishment was issued by a random professor and was not severe but no one can be sure about Neo.

“Ye-yeah” (Mark)

Mira knocked at the door:

“Come in”

They both gulped their saliva and walked inside. Once inside a smell of tea leaves assaulted them. The interior of the office was nothing like the outside. The room was huge and there were several cupboards lined up, along the walls. There were three sofas arranged in a ‘U’ shape and a table was there in between them.

A handsome man with dark purple hair and dark blue eyes was sitting on the sofa in the middle, he had a cup of tea in his hand and his face was as expressionless as ever. Yet his eyes were already locked on them the moment they entered the room.

They can feel the boundless arrogance and coldness in those eyes, a chill ran down their spines. But the only relief was that they were not alone in the room. Two maids were working on arranging the room and an old butler was standing behind Neo politely.

“Oh, you finally had the courage to enter, I thought you would still stand there for a few more hours.” (Neo)

Mark was surprised to hear it, because he didn’t know that Neo was able to perceive him standing there. Thinking back, he had been standing there for an hour or so. But Mira was not surprised she knew that it is very likely possible for a veteran rank person to perceive someone in such a close distance.

She has the same experience when she visited her father’s office too. Not to mention, her father is at the early grandmaster rank.

“I-I was j-just…” (Mark)

Before Mark could complete his sentence, Mira introduced herself first.

“Pleased to make your acquaintance, I wanted to know what the punishment for student Mark will be, since I am the head student of the class” (Mira)

“Hmm, well I will decide after hearing the explanation you have. According to my knowledge, Mark had not only fought with other students in the canteen he even injured them fatally.” (Neo)

“You know what is the punishment for fighting in the canteen area Right? Instant expulsion from the academy” (Neo)

Hearing Neo’s words both of them flinched, they did not expect that the punishment for this was so severe. Mark was already on his limit now, he didn’t want to expulsed from the academy, it will destroy his future.

Just as Mira was about to say something, Neo narrowed his eyes and added:

“But the thing is, that since you are favored by the church, you will not be expelled this time, Mark. Don’t forget your class, the church is backing you.” (Neo)

“You have talent kid, don’t waste it on these measly things. You will not get any punishment for this time, but I warn you not to do such things again. Now you may go.” (Neo)

Both Mira and Mark had an unbelievable expression on their face, they had thought that Neo might be really brutal in his punishment just like when he was training them. But it seems they had judged him wrong. He was more in their favor from the start.

Neo got up from his seat and walked toward the window.

“You should be capable enough to defend yourself, if you would have cleared the truth from the start you would not have to even come here.” (Neo)

“Yo-you knew?” (Mark)

Mark was really dumbfounded now. He had fought because he was being provoked by those noble children but he was held guilty for it. Only he himself knew the truth, but now it seems that Neo also knew this truth. Unfortunately, what Mark didn’t know was that Neo was just familiar with the plot of the game and knew such a thing must have happened.

“Just get going and don’t waste my time, kid” (Neo)

Seeing that Neo was starting to get annoyed; Mark didn’t dare say anything and just left the room. A strange silence enveloped the room after he left. Then the silence was broken by Mira:

“Why are you helping him?” (Mira)

“I am just siding with truth; you should get going too.” (Neo)

Hearing his remark, Mira was annoyed and started to leave the room.

“Oh, and don’t waste your precious time on these things, be serious about your training you have talent and the responsibility of the Milan family” (Neo)

 “Okay” (Mira)

Although surprised, Mira still nodded her head and left the room with a single word. And the silence continued just like that.
