"Sir, we have had over 500 applicants from all over Australia and parts of Asia.
Even interest was shown from Europe and the US, but they weren't up to scratch, nor could some make the move."
The assistant, Julia Sands was a middle-aged mother, who'd worked for some top executives in the past, however with the birth of her twins, she took some time away and came back as a favour for Ruby.
Her job above everything was to train the next head secretary or assistant to Esmond, which was one of her nieces who'd worked previously for Ruby and was one of Julias most adored nieces.
Esmond thought she might scrape through with her aunt helping her out, instead Julia was much more attentive and nit-pickier of her niece's work.
Esmond once brought it up with Julia, but she excused him straight up and said the work was demanding so it required those who weren't going to be pushed over so easily.
Left with little options than going against his mother, Esmond stepped back and let Julia continue with her hellish training.
It wasn't like he would be meeting with her niece anytime soon, so it didn't matter.
His first job was organising a small business what can prepare for rapid expansion and growth.
.
Esmond walked past the hall with the hundreds of applicants with Julia by his side as the other help hired to deal with the large number of people were already being taken care of by Julias students.
"Will they be enough?"
Esmond was a little sceptical, seeing the number of people that made it through the first round of selections.
"If the work is as you have stated to me, then this many people are more than enough.
We need to accept a third, but it should be acceptable if we narrow it down to a quarter."
Julia had several documents Esmond scanned through within moment as the superhuman level of intelligence helped him whizz through documents within no time.
He could absorb information like a sponge, so it didn't take him long to figure out what was going on today.
"Julia…"
"Yes…?"
"Hire them all…
If I want to realise my goals, I will need them all and many more…"
Julia didn't know if she should stop Esmond or call his mother and see what was going on, however she went with her gut and followed along with Esmonds plans.
Before she went out and gave everyone the good news, Esmond held her back and told her some goals of the organisation he was building.
.
"… You want to be the first to space?"
Julia found it hard to believe but listening to Esmond explain his goals and ideas, she couldn't help but think if it could be possible.
The people gathered today were going to be hired for a recycling business which could process all types of waste through the Spatial Ark Land.
Esmond had purchased and improved a Dismantling and Recycling Factory, that broke down materials to an extremely fine point, break them down to separate them at the greatest point to receive the highest quality materials at the end of the process.
Some smaller dumps around South Australia had entered a simple agreement where the business would process a part of the waste that entered the landfill, but Julia had proposed to ask the federal government.
If they could show their operations worked for a time, the government could be persuaded to send all the waste to the business.
Carter also agreed and knew plenty of third world nations would love for their streets to be as clean as the western nations so there was plenty of business.
.
Deciding that staying further would be pointless, Esmond left in his sharp suit, leaving the work to Julia and his mother to begin the hiring process for the 500 people.
Right now, he needed to secure some offices for his business.
"Are they serious?"
'Not kidding, they are willing to sell, but the problem is that they want some stakes within the business for selling at that price.'
"How much was full price?"
'200 million…'
"Buy it…"
Esmond had no time for partners in his business empire that would cause him more problems than solutions, so he didn't want to waste anymore time and continue with the sale.
The building was within the CBD of Adelaide, however it was further down, closer to South Terrace, on King William Street.
The building roughly 100m tall, so it wasn't the tallest building, but it was plenty beautiful in Esmonds eyes.
With some help from Carter, they started to layout the internal design of the building with open floor spaces with innovative business operations to help boost workers moral and work ethic.
The culture was important to Esmond, knowing it could influence the direction of the business greatly.
So, he was glad for the help from his mother and Carter when he went to scan through the empty building after leaving Julia.
He'd walked over to the building from the Hilton since it wasn't too far away, however Esmond knew the importance of having his own vehicle, especially with his plans for the company.
.
'Check your phone.'
Carter sent some plans that visualised the ideas everyone had suggested, from both of his parents as well as Carters own artistic selections.
Esmond was quite pleased by the overall designs, except for some critical changes that needed to be made.
Other than that, everything was fine.
One thing that was removed was his own office.
He felt it wasn't necessary right now and that it was fine for him to work from home for now, but once they built their own skyscraper, then it would be a different story.
.
"Whats next?"
'For now, I need you to visit certain businesses and open a gate to let the drones get out and make the changes.'
Esmond had planned to create his own business that would take care of his rebuilding and redesigning of preestablish buildings, however the drones would take care of it.
He'd accidently summoned one of the drones to the family home, which was quickly upgrade and reenforced by the magic of the drones.
Weirdly they had a connection with the space that allowed them to come and go freely with Carters approval, as long as Esmond of course knew what was happening.
There were some other buildings that need to be made in the space for Carter's control over the drones to increase, but he wasn't sure that it would be sufficient enough would some upgrades made by Esmond.
It wasn't all, the drones worked so far that it was humanly impossible, so it would be difficult for them to prove how they could have such quick turn arounds when they made redesigns of the buildings they own.
Though, the plan for now only meant for one of the recycling centre they bought and the offices in the city, needed internal rebuilding which were left completely to the drones to manage.
.
"Baby, your home…"
Ruby greeted Esmond as he entered the cabin home with the space.
He'd entered the space only after reaching his family home in Adelaide, before hoping over.
His mother was pretty much living full-time with the space, connecting with her colleagues, and conducting Esmonds business work through the space's connection with the internet network.
Ruby prepared a feast for both of her boys, hoping to sit down with the two and simply talk.
She had been busy earlier, getting suggestions for Carter for dress designs they'd come across in their other lives which would be seen as fashionable presently.
Because of the spaces ability to reproduce anything once it entered the space, Ruby was having her clothes and the others all made by the drones as the materials was overall much better and the fabrics were of greater quality.
Right now, the dress Ruby was wearing would have caused Vogue to have a meltdown when they would fail to track down the designer, as he was from another time, centuries ahead.
.
"Hey mom, just really overwhelmed with the amount of work to be done…
It's exhausting…"
No matter which life it was, Esmond hated the amount of work he would be dumped with.
Thankfully most of it was carried by Carter and Julia for now, it still required his input that would drain him of his energy, making him heavily tired by the end of the day.
"Go practise after eating.
For now, leave some of the work to your father and me, ok?"
"Sure mom…"
What Esmond didn't understand was the shockwave his parents' ambitions purchases and thoughts would later cause him immense problems, however for now it was fine.
Leaving them to play, Esmond ate and left to train in the training facility made by drones so he wouldn't destroy the landscape and the infrastructure that was being built.
The Spatial Ark Land was immense, and the area Esmond had put down the cabin, soon expanding into full size cities, with room to house hundreds of thousands and still expanding.
Everyone was done to deal with the huge load of materials they kept storing in the warehouses that worked like inventory.
It got to a point where Carter expected a city of warehouses to appear soon, but Daniel suggested a city designed by Carter, making sure to take into account for growth and human needs in how the city would be built.
It was more or less a practise run for Carter after the discussion of a palace and capital city came up at one point during dinner.
"What have you found with your little pet project…?"
"Tell you straight Esy… my balls been hurting… what the fuck is it with his shit getting in the way if the zip."
"Carter, I mean the fucking city dumbass!"
"Ohh… I made some big ass problems… at first, but things are better now."
Carter explained leaving some space to create a grand palace in the centre of the city, but instead a massive forest laid in the middle much like New York with its Central Park, however this had a literal forest in the middle that spanned across for dozens of kilometres.
The reason why it was done like this was for cabin that sat at the centre of the forest and that the forest itself was an amazing place filled with various structures.
There was a gold course with a full 18 holes, a small airport, various sports fields, and some other buildings that were all still being built.
The thing was, throughout the entire city, there was no emergency services available as Carter believed it to be unreasonable with his presence and Esmond, however he was sternly scolded by his parents, Daniel, and Ruby for such a foolish thought.
"So, you finally added the services and everything else yeah?"
"Pretty much, but now I'm thinking the equipment at these places need to be improved.
I went by the American system I've seen online, but I switched to a more universal medical system instead.
Like no wonder people do home births… who the fuck can afford the tens of thousands of dollars' it costs for childbirth in America."
Carter was beside Esmond in the cabin as they lazed about waiting to hear about their Parents' Day out spending.
…
..
.
"Daniel honey! Look at this!"
Ruby was trying to get her husbands attention while out, as they were stuck gazing at the jewellery on display.
They were at a local jewellery brand, so the designs were completely original or anything like that, but they were still quite nice to catch Rubys attention.
When Daniel finally saw what his darling wife was excited to purchase, he understood it was some simple bracelets Ruby planned to gift the two boys.
"Ohh… I thought you bought the store or something crazy like that hahaha… why is that creepy smiling across your face…?"
Daniel realised very quickly that he opened the flood gates he would be left struggling to explain to his boys when he got home.
"Honey?!" Daniel screamed as he raced after his wife who felt like a kid on Christmas that snuck away with the parents' credit card.
.
"What were you thinking about next?"
"Weapons, ships, aircrafts, and so on…
Carter I'm afraid… my actions might speed up the end and we won't be ready…"
It was a genuine fear that bothered Esmond quite a bit, but nonetheless he soldiered on as he'd gone through enough crap before.
"Esy… *sigh* we've been through worse… just now we have some means to protect those we care about…
Anyway, with you attending university soon after taking those classes before, you could bullshit to those that might know you if they ask about your grades.
I was meaning to tell you before, but I think now is a good time like any other."
Carter lately was scanning through Esmonds memories to expand his own knowledge with the help of the A.I operating system apart of his mind and body in a way.
Because of the time Esmond spent studying in each lifetime, there was a wealth of knowledge, no library could replicate in any empire, so it was the perfect place to expand the knowledge bank of his database.
However, it was taking some time as taking knowledge from Esmonds memories was difficult for him to process.
But progress was being made and happening.
.
"For now, are you ready to head over to Africa?" Carter asked before he booked the flight for Esmond.
They were planning on making some connections with those in the mercenary game and use their help to create a private military.
Using what was left of the roughly 375 million credits, some training facilities for militaries was purchases.
When they were placed in the space, the amount of land each facility took up was astonishing that it made one believe each building was a city of its own.
Albeit small…
The facilities of course were updated somewhat by Esmond, holding back from completely overwhelming the soldiers with the most deadly and elite training just for now.
Many more materials, ores, and certain support was needed to create some of the basic facilities to create the armies that will in the far future, reap fury among any foes of the empire.
But as of this moment, Esmond needed some soldiers what were superior to anything else on earth.
By providing them with the right tools, they would be incredible, but it all went down to the training they received and the benefits the army offers.
.
"Sure…
Have you found someone to be our contact?"
"Yep, a former agent of the C.I.A, who unfortunately was barred from his nation for some conspiracy that screwed him in the process.
You'll meet with him after being picked up from the airport by a small team I've hired for your protection."
Not wanting to wait further, he got ready and left a note behind for his parents, while Carter organised him a taxi and flight for the evening.
.
'You've landed?' "Yeah, I'm currently in the taxi and heading straight to the meeting now." Esmond didn't bring anything beyond a small bag, similar to the ones used to bag his soccer boots. It had just enough spare clothes and if things were bad, he could always purchase some, so it didn't highly matter to Esmond what he packed for his trip now that he had a great deal of money. Currently he was looking out at streets of Lagos, Nigeria. The driver was clearly taking his time to show Esmond the brighter side of the city, away from the harsher parts of town, but it obvious early on that there was a great deal of problems within the city and more than like the nation. . 'I know what your thinking, and yes there are a whole ton of issues throughout the nation. I've especially picked up some connections between several Swiss bank accounts and politicians who continue to add several large sums t
'Wasn't that too much…?'Carter had a front row seat to everything Esmond did, unless he chose not to let him see, which only happened if some lady was in his company for the night.Anyway, seeing Jioke hand over more than 5 large sites all over Nigeria, for mass collection points for the rubbish to be treated, as well as some extra land in problematic areas according to Carter, made him wonder what the government was thinking."Didn't you say part of these areas are where the dispute for the oil is happening with the people and some fuel cooperation?"'Mmm… but the main problem there is the fuel has destroyed the economy for the fisherman and ruined their health.I'm thinking if we can set up a charity that we can spare our goods to, we should be able to help create some change there before entering.'Esmond agreed with Carter and asked him to get in touch with some charities locally with Antons help of course and step up some
"Sir… have you updated yourself with the condition of the business so far?" Julia sighed as she spoke with Esmond the day after him spending time with Carter, torturing themselves with pain every time they gathered more knowledge from media. Some of it had yet to be analysed and examine but following meetings with his staff needed Esmonds attention so he had to stop studying and head into the city. "Sorry Julia, I've been focused on studying up some technology I am working on to help with the business operations." Esmond was talking out of his ass when he said that, as he knew Carter would thoroughly watch and examine everything that goes through the business intranet. With the upgrade of the system and space, Carter also went through a huge improvement as a basic Artificial System Spirit Core. He knew there it would be a while before he became an intermediate system, but with the upgrade, the amount he could do before was peanuts comp
Louis was fluttering around trying to comb his golden blonde hair that was sticking up like a porcupine that'd rolled out of bed and brush his teeth while trying to find his socks. He was running late for his important meeting that concerned his business, Gloomy Shadow Games or GSG for short. The night before he was out partying with the other guys from work and one of his partners who was also a dear friend for gaining the meeting, but now he was more worried about making it within 10 minutes.Racing out his apartment, Louis bolted for the train to take him into the city where he needed to meet the client.Praying the trains weren't behind and on schedule, Louis made his way to the station but called the office ahead to let the client know he was running late.."Goddammit Louis! What the fuck did I say yesertday night?!Not to get too drunk that you might miss the meeting and now look…"
'Ahh… whats the point man.' Hayaan Omar Dubad, a refugee who'd left his motherland, Somalia, for a better life, unfortunately his fate wasn't as lucky he thought it might have been after leaving the land that brought him pain. Arriving in Madagascar by boat, leaving from the Port of Mogadishu, Hayaans life went from terrible to outright unbearable as many of those that escaped with him to the boats were caught by the locals and made into working slaves. Some earned enough so they could buy certain things like food and water, but many were left to fend for themselves. Hayaan, not wanting to die, escaped one night from his imprisonment, and escaped to some town where some missionary christens who saw the poor condition and health of Hayaan took him in. They covered his treatment and sent him outside of Madagascar, as the missionary group were part of a charity group with connections to the UN, so Hayaan thought he would settle in some western co
'Look here, one of your main quests requires you to create your own business empire and have wealth like no other has.As much as my handle on the market has earned you a pretty penny, don't forget I sourced your wealth together using 2 billion dollars I found that were evident of laundered money made from drug sales.'His words sounded harsh and straight forward, but Esmond understood Carter wasn't mincing his words so he would continue to move about and not laze at home instead, leaving the tasks for later.Carter had already started making ships, aircrafts, submarines, and plenty of other items the army would require while waiting for the uranium to arrive at the designated address in the United States.Esmond would be making his way over to the United States after his trip in Ukraine came to an end, with his future schedule busy meeting one of the people connected with the Chernobyl Power Plant confinement project for reactor number 4.
Landing at the Newark Liberty International Airport within New Jersey, Esmond connected with Carter first while entering a cab as he gave the driver the address for the Hilton Hotel, which Esmond wasn't a large fan of, after staying a night in the Adelaide Hilton Hotel, but his childish side thought 'screw it!'.While on the way, Esmond pulled up the Wheel of Chance from the System Interface and spun the wheel with his consciousnesses control over the system which saved from looking like a food to someone when he used the System Interface.Today had made it roughly a week Esmond had acquired the new System Function which only gave him one worthy item so far which was the Virtual World. The last two spins gave Esmond,.[2465 – Gregorian calendar][Ugusta Star Empire][Space Cruiser Cloaking System V5]And[2096 – Greg
"Hello Mr Manston, my name is Crista Hoffman.""It's lovely to meet you Ms Hoffman, please just call me Esmond.""Then please call me Crista,"The two chuckled a little, before sitting down and getting to business. They both found the other attractive, with Crista finding Esmonds eyes to be deep and honest, while Esmond found her smile to dazzling and highly attractive, but they kept their thoughts to themselves and focused on business before them.."So… I have reviewed your file and the information you've sent through. From the looks of your proposal, I no doubt believe you would be perfect for a contract with the State government for Waste and recycling control management.""There seems to be a 'however' that is about to escape your lips."Esmond wasn't trying to flirt, but his tone and eyes focusing on Crista lips made her feel Esmond might try to connect with her in t
