Chapter 8: Think Twice

"How dare you remain seated while I'm talking to you? Didn't your parents teach you how to respect the elders?"

The man's voice was so high as if he was telling the whole city. All eyes in the restaurant shifted to their table, making Belinda nervous.

She was going to stand up but Kagern touched her hand and signed for her not to.

Seeing their hands touching one another's enraged Mr. Hako even more.

"Stand up, you bitch! This is not where you get to sexualize each other."

Kagern would have said something but Belinda had a reply ready.

"Mr. Hako, are you blind or something? What's so sexual about holding hands?"

The people around nodded in understanding, making Mr. Hako feel embarrassed.

He was not the type that accepts defeat, though. He said, "Do whatever you want but not in my hotel!"

This time, Kagern couldn't contain himself anymore.

"Your hotel?"

"Of course! My hotel!"

Mr. Hako was one of David's distant relatives who became bosses in Golden Heart Hotel after the Hako family acquired a few shares of it.

Their family didn't even have 10% of the shares but they acted like they owned the hotel. This is because the hotel's real boss was a founder and a CEO of a giant company in car industry who built Golden Heart Hotel just to encourage people to donate to those in need, making him too busy to pay attention to matters inside the hotel.

To provide an example to his clients, he picked 5 lower grade employees and a higher grade 5 more from his company and donated 30% of his shares to them.

One of the 5 lower grade employees he picked happened to have Hako as his family name. Just like that, the Hako family became rich and richer as the hotel became popular among rich people and made billions of income every year.

That was 15 years ago when David was still 6 years old.

Now, hearing Mr. Hako's arrogant voice that was similar to David's, reminded Kagern about the cheating incident.

'I hate this family!'

Kagern told himself internally before opening his mouth to say, "You don't own this hotel. Stop acting like 3% shares Mr. Johnsons donated to your family is huge money."

Every employee knew how Hako family became one of the share holders of the hotel and often made jokes about it but not in Mr. Hako's presence. He could even kill a person if he heard him saying it.

Now that Kagern had said it, all the hotel staff among the crowd showed looks of excitement on their faces. A show was about to begin.

As for Mr. Hako, he jumped onto Kagern like madman.

"What did you say, you piece of shit?"

Kagern dodged him, leaving him to fall on the ground.

"I said, you're nothing special. Stop acting as if your family owns the world."

Because of his weight, it took about a minute for Mr. Hako to go back on his feet. With teary eyes, he pointed at Kagern and yelled, "You're fired!"

He then turned to Belinda.

"You and your whore here. You're both fired!"

Every staff member among the crowd showed some pity for Kagern and Belinda. They all knew about the leftovers incident. That both Kagern and Belinda were not financially capable of living without this job.

They expected Kagern to apologize, only to be confused when he just let out a chuckle.

"Alright then!"

With these two words, Kagern pulled a chair for Belinda who had stood up when Mr. Hako jumped at him.

After she sat, he pulled another for himself.

Everyone around was confused by his actions especially Mr. Hako.

"What are you doing?" he asked, adding, "I fired you! Get out!"

Kagern let out another chuckle.

"Yes! You did! We're no longer your employees. Now we're clients. Give us the menu. We wanna order something to celebrate departing with a jerk like you."

Everyone around couldn't help but laugh after hearing those words.

Mr. Hako was fuming.

"That's not happening in my hotel. No one serves you anything. Plus, what can you even afford here? A beggar like you."

Belinda was starting to enjoy their revenge on this guy. She could not allow him to chase them out just like that.

"Oh! Brother Jay," she said. "Thank the gods I had your favorite here."

She was gesturing to a serving tray that lay on on the table, the one she had been carrying when Kagern came.

With laughter, Kagern replied, "You're a genius, Linda!"

And just like that, he pulled one of the plates and they started eating.

Everybody around burst out laughing except the enraged Mr. Hako who tried to pull the tray down, embarrassing himself even more when Belinda pushed it away.

"Security! Security! Get these two brats out, NOW!"

Everyone continued laughing.

Mr. Hako attempted to pull the tray again but Kagern slapped his hand away. "F*ck off and let us eat in peace you old and ugly chubby thing."

Kagern was raised never to disrespect the elders, never to insult people because of their physical appearance. However, Mr. Hako had done that countless times. He gave Kagern no reason to respect him.

At that moment, a group of security guards arrived.

"Beat them Near-To-Death before throwing them out," commanded Mr. Hako as he rubbed his slapped hand.

The security guards were about to rush at Kagern and Belinda when Bingle arrived with five gorgeous girls adorning women black suits. The security team for a V-VIP client in Golden Heart Hotel.

"Mr. Hako, Jayden McDenials is now the hotel's V-VIP. He just paid 10 million dollars for membership. Think twice before you touch him again!"
