Chapter 7

Immediately, everyone started to get whispered one another. They are in unison wondering who exactly that man with dirty clothes, but has a black card, and now acts as if he is so powerful. Many of them then assumed that Jack is a conglomerate in disguise, but not a few visitors who think Jack is a thief.

What rich person really bothers to be a pizza delivery man?

"Hey! Don't be impudent!” snapped the security guard very loudly. He walked quickly over to Jack. Without further ado he cuffed Jack’s hands. "If I had known that this beggar was actually a thief, I would have beaten you a long time ago." The security guard had raised his clenched fists, ready to punch Jack.

A breath escaped Jack's mouth. “You will regret doing this to me.”

"Not me but you. How dare you threaten Mrs. Nathalie. Now tell me, who owns the black card?! Or this stick will crack your skull!”

Nathalie, who had shaken her hands for fear of losing her job, began to think that the security guard's allegations were true. 'How stupid I was to think he was a man from an influential family!'

The woman shuddered in disgust remembering how she had tried to seduce the pizza delivery man. Now, in a firm voice he ordered, “Take off the cuffs!”

“B-but madam.” The security guard clearly thought his boss would defend him, because in fact what he did was only to defend his boss.

"I said, take off the cuffs!"

With annoyance the security guard removed the handcuffs from Jack's hands. His reddened eyes almost popped out as he stared at Jack.

"Now, give me your ID card." The shop manager's right hand looked up.

Jack said nothing. He took out a wallet from his pocket. At that moment, the visitors who had witnessed the commotion earlier started whispering again. The reason is clear, Jack's wallet is very worn. The seams were broken, making the cheap wallet look even more pitiful.

Truly, that wallet was so out of step with the value of such a precious black card!

'It's been proven. His wallet has reinforced the truth that this man is indeed a thief,' thought Nathalie with a crooked smile. 'He'll be sorry he offended me.'

The manager also accepted Jack's ID with great confidence. “Jack Marshall. Pretty good name. At least better than your wallet.” Her ridicule made the shop patrons chuckle.

Nathalie looked at the cashier. "Now, check the black card!"

The cashier, who had only been frozen holding the black card from Jack, now nodded in understanding. She immediately checked the card to see the identity of the card owner.

"Have you checked? How is the result??" ambushed Nathalie when the cashier saw her.

"Yes, madam."

“Read it. Everyone crowds around just to find out if this man is a thief or not. I also wonder what kind of thief could make me lose my job.” She glanced at Jack.

"The owner of this card named..." The cashier paused only to swallow hard as everyone held their breaths. "His name is Mr. Jack Roodenburg."

The visitors who were originally silent, now reflexively widened their eyes in unison. They obviously knew the Roodenburgs. Even hearing that family name gave them a fright.

“This pizza delivery man is looking to die for!”

"It's over! Only an idiot would dare to mess with the Roodenburgs.”

“Even the big mobsters don't dare to look up when confronted by Mr. Roodenburg. Then, how could this beggar steal the card of one of their family members!”

Jack smiled amused at people's comments. Who would have thought, his smile was caught by Nathalie's eyes, who had been watching him all along. The manager, who felt cheated, his anger immediately reached an all-time high.

“Handcuff him right now! I will call the Roodenburgs to report this.”

While Nathalie was posing as a hero to the Roodenburg family, Audrey sneaked closer to Jack to whisper, “Jack, I believe you're not a thief. Did you find that card on the street?”

Jack smiled at the concern on Audrey's face. "Calm down. Everything will be fine."

"No! This is the end for you. The owner of this shop will come with people from the Roodenburg family. Pray to stay alive. At least, just to taste the food in prison.” Nathalie smiled a winning smile. "Watch him!"

"Of course madam. My eyes won't turn away even for a second from this bum.” The security guard pulled Jack roughly to take him to sit near the main door.

Meanwhile, Nathalie apologized to the visitors for all the drama that had happened. Not only that, she also asked Audrey to come to her room. Of course so she could curse the maid to her heart's content before being dishonorably dismissed.

However, before Nathalie entered her room, a group of people in suits entered the shop after the security guard opened it. Instantly, the visitors who had dispersed at first, returned frozen to see the continuation of the commotion.

"That's Mr. Matthew Devall!"

Nathalie immediately turned around hearing the exclamation of one of the visitors. Her face lit up when she saw a tall handsome man with clear glasses on his handsome face. "Mr. Matthew."

Matthew Devall is a confidant of the Roodenburg family. The various family businesses were handled by Matthew after Jack's parents died in an accident. Therefore, everyone really wants to be close and have a good relationship with this man. You can be sure that what is approved by Matthew will also be approved by Tom Roodenburg.

Apart from Matthew, the other three people who came were the shop owner and the two men who were Jack's bodyguards. Seeing that there was a great opportunity to get 'compliments', Nathalie rushed to welcome the guests of honor.

"Welcome, gentlemen. Lord Matthew." She gave Matthew a special smile.

“Nathalie, where is Young Master Jack?!” The shop owner's voice sounded worried.

Natalie chuckled. "Sir, don't call that pizza delivery man Young Master." With confidence she pointed to the left side of the main door. "He's there. Sir, don't worry, we have secured him. We have also taken this black card from him.” She pointed the black card at Matthew. "Please Mr. Matthew."

Matthew shook his head a few times before turning to come to Jack. Of course this surprised Nathalie. Still with the black card in her hand, she called out, “Mr. Matthew, here is Mr Jack Roodenburg's card. That disgusting bum has stolen it.”

SLAP!

Heat coursed up Nathalie's cheeks with pain, embarrassment, and a sense of not understanding. She had not had time to protest yet, she had to hear loud curses.

"STUPID! You are really stupid!”

"Sir, what did I do wrong for you to slap me?" Nathalie held her cheek with tears in her eyes. As far as she could remember, there had never been a time when the shop owner scolded her or simply reprimanded her because she always did a very good job.

'But why today, for the sake of that bum, boss slapped me?'
