The following day
Aurora's Arcana arrangement went faster than Arryn had expected. Aurora felt different compared to Arryn when adjusting the Arcana to her body. Aurora felt warm and excited after a few minutes of doing the final Arcana setup.
Different feelings were felt by people, including Aurora. Now, Arryn was not with the girl. He was still silent as he stared at the roof of his bedroom.
"Aren't you going to try your magic again, Arryn?" asked Ivy, staying close to Arryn.
"My magic? It seems not, Ivy. Don't you remember the advice Quentin gave me?" asked Arryn, turning his head as his eyes looked at Ivy perched on the nightstand to Arryn's right.
Ivy knew and remembered the advice Quentin had given Arryn, especially about the effects of the young man's original magic.
Quentin had clearly said that Arryn was forbidden to use his original magic under any conditions, whether in Riviela's classes or during his spare time.
"But if you worry too much about Quentin's advice, you'll never make any progress," Ivy said.
"Whatever you say, it's all true, Ivy," Arryn replied, getting up from his back on the bed as he turned around, sitting on the edge.
"But what about the effects of the magic? Yesterday, Quentin said that I've been missing for five days," Arryn said.
Ivy was silent. Arryn's words made Ivy realize the potential for more significant changes in space and time. It was a confusing situation for both Arryn and Ivy.
"What if I travel to a place with a faster time acceleration than Athanor? Maybe I'll disappear for a week or worse, a month," Arryn replied. Ivy nodded and didn't want to argue with Arryn's words because it was true.
"I think we'd better learn some basic elemental magic," Arryn replied, standing up as he moved his feet closer to the wardrobe.
The wardrobe door opened, and there were only a few pairs of his clothes; the apprentice uniform, one black T-shirt, one shirt, one cloak, and two white T-shirts.
"Basic elemental magic? Then we're going to the library?" asked Ivy, starting to fly next to Arryn.
The young man nodded as he picked up a T-shirt and trouser suit. Ivy complained, saying that she was bored of going there. It was like being a nerd who had to stick to studying in the library.
"How about you borrow a book and we go practice outside?" Ivy suggested.
"Not bad. I'll try to borrow it and go to the practice field on the first floor," said Arryn, getting ready with his clothes on.
Just as Arryn was about to open the door, his steps were stopped, and his eyes widened at Ivy's idea. Her idea had to do with Arryn's original magic.
"What if you use your original magic to go to the library?" asked Ivy. Arryn was surprised because Arryn had never tried it.
"But what if the portal doesn't lead me to the library?" asked Arryn.
"You have to imagine the place before casting the spell, just like when you opened the portal that connects to Quentin's office," replied Ivy; she reminded Arryn of this method which came from Aurora's idea.
In the end, Arryn was willing to do that, opening the dimensional portal in front of the wooden door of his room while continuing to imagine the Obelisk library.
Arryn's eyes closed as he stretched his right hand forward. He directly rotated his hand in a clockwise direction while chanting the spell.
[Summoning System: Two Different Worlds]
A circular portal appeared in front of Arryn, white in colour with a texture like a cloud bubble. This was Arryn's second gamble to test his magic, whether it could connect to the place he had described.
Arryn bravely stepped into the white portal, followed by Ivy. The dazzling light made it impossible for Arryn to see what kind of world existed beyond the portal. However, after the light faded, Arryn saw the place connected to the portal.
Arryn and Ivy arrived in a town with the main street crowded with people. What surprised Arryn was that the people in this city were not human.
They looked like reptiles with human-like bodies, except their skin was replaced by scales with round black eyes, sharp teeth, and long tongues. On their heads and backs, fins were the same colour as their scales.
That was just a description of one person Arryn and Ivy met. Both of them realized that a person's appearance in this world was far different from what they had previously visualized.
"Are we in the reptilian world?" asked Ivy, whispering.
Arryn shook his head. He had no idea what this place was and why they were dumped there. Arryn and Ivy decided to quickly move away from the main street, enter a small dark alley and rest for a while there.
"It looks like your original magic can't change places in the same world," Ivy replied.
"I think so, considering the spell name is two worlds," Arryn explained.
"We'd better get back before time in Athanor changes too fast for us," Arryn continued.
Ivy nodded. She agreed with Arryn's request to return to Athanor as it was the best option. Ivy certainly didn't want Quentin to yell at Arryn for her idea.
Arryn recited the spell again as he visualized the library area of the Obelisk. Soon, the white portal reappeared, and Arryn immediately entered, followed by Ivy.
The second place Arryn visited was a place that matched her imagery, the Obelisk library. However, their arrival surprised some people. They were second-tier magic users having a conversation at a long table.
There were about ten of them, and all eyes were on Arryn and the white portal behind him. Arryn was silent as he smiled and waved at them.
Ivy flew up as she shouted something to Arryn, something terrible. Ivy entered the portal and told Arryn to close it quickly.
"Close it now!" Ivy shouted, and Arryn said yes.
The white portal closed on its own, but to his surprise, the person Arryn had described appeared from behind the white portal, only his head.
Because the portal's power was much stronger than the reptile's, the reptile's head was cut off right when the white portal was closed entirely. The second-tier mages who saw this incident immediately stood up and took distance from Arryn.
"It looks like that thing is a human-eating reptile," Ivy said. Arryn nodded while crouching down.
He lifted the monster's sharp-toothed head with his hand. Arryn continued to wonder what race had this look? Then are they really human eaters?
"Wh-What are you doing?" asked one of the second-tier mages, pale-faced, when he saw the severed head in Arryn's hands.
"Do you know anything about this?" asked Arryn, this reptile being the second life Arryn had seen from behind the portal, after the first being a human in the Ancient Egyptian Kingdom.
"I don't know what monster it is," said the person.
"Well, I don't know either," replied Arryn, turning his head and seeing that the blood colour of this monster was none other than green, utterly different from normal human blood.
Arryn remembered Quentin, who might have information about the identity of the monster he had killed. He asked the second-tier mages to give the reptile head to Quentin, but none of them was willing.
"Should I just throw it away?" asked Arryn, looking at Ivy, who was still flying beside him.
"Don't. It could be rare information about the existence of reptilian races in other worlds," Ivy replied.
Arryn remained silent as he held up the severed reptile's head, its face disgusting with the saliva flowing from its mouth. Arryn decided to bring the head to Quentin himself.
"Alright, I'll hand it over to Quentin."

"But Quentin must know that you've broken his advice," Ivy said. Arryn nodded. What Ivy said had some truth to it. "You're right, but even though he'll scold me, he'll be very interested when he sees what I find," Arryn replied. "I won't push you. You will do it, and you will be responsible for it," Ivy said, flying next to Arryn and starting to use her invisible ability. Arryn decided to go visit Quentin's office. He wrapped the reptilian head in a large piece of cloth to avoid panic in this place. Ivy flew off to follow Arryn wherever she went, unseen. Even though the reptilian head was well wrapped, blood continued to flow down the cloth. Surprisingly, not a single person had any intention of questioning this. They seemed to pass by unconcerned about Arryn even though they saw the strangeness in the cloth Arryn was carrying. "What caused them to be so indifferent to you, Arryn?" asked Ivy. She, too, felt the strangeness shown by the people in this place. "I don't know. It see
*** Arryn didn't understand what Quentin meant to him. Making him the most advanced magic user would take a long time. Arryn wondered, would Quentin teach him directly about it? He and Ivy began to leave Quentin's office after there was nothing more to talk about. The two left, heading toward the Obelisk library. Unlike them, the apprentices in Riviela's class began practicing basic magic skills. Arryn certainly didn't want to be left behind them. He borrowed a book on basic magic and started practicing it in the backyard of the Obelisk tower. "I don't understand Quentin's intention at all," Ivy said, discussing what Quentin had said to them earlier. "I'm sure he was too excited about the discovery to imagine such a thing," Arryn said. "But to reach the Noble Tier takes a long time. There are many requirements you must complete," Ivy replied. Arryn agreed with Ivy's words. After all, it took a lot of effort to reach that level. Arryn was sure that Quentin also took much time to
In Alicia's eyes, the color of mana released by Arryn was dark blue, almost reaching black. In contrast to Quentin and the others, it was more light-colored such as red, yellow, light blue, green, and white. "Do you know where your strength comes from, Arryn?" asked Alicia. Arryn wondered what Alicia meant by saying that. Did she want to know about Erina? According to Arryn, there was nothing important to tell Alicia about the origin of her powers. "Everyone else doesn't know about it because they get it at birth," Arryn explained, using someone else's analogy. Alicia continued to stare at Arryn's face with a smile. The woman realized something seeing Arryn's response. She realized that Arryn was lying to her. Even so, Alicia had no intention of bothering him further. Alicia understood that Arryn was trying to hide it because of the type of mana he had belonged to the dark type of mana. Only certain races had a type of mana like Arryn, one of them was the demon race currently at
"We should return to Athanor. I don't know if time in this place goes faster or slower," Arryn pleaded, concerned that he might lose a few days in Athanor if he remained in this world. But Alicia wasn't listening. She was more concerned about the unique inhabitants of the world they had arrived in than Arryn's anxiety. She asked him to stay in this world longer to get to know the behaviors and characteristics of the people. "But on one condition, we must leave after one hour after our arrival," Arryn explained, insisting. Alicia nodded as Arryn instructed. The woman cheerfully walked along the river to arrive near a beautiful waterfall. She could see the three rabbits who looked frightened while covering their furry bodies with a piece of cloth. Their behavior truly looked like that of a human. "Don't make a sudden move like that; you'll scare them off," Arryn said, stepping slowly toward Alicia, who looked very enthusiastic. The three rabbits immediately went into the forest's d
Arryn certainly doesn't want anything bad to happen to them, especially since both are in a world with different people from Athanor. Alicia was the same. She didn't want Hunt to leave her, especially since the two of them had been together for 20 years. "Can you detect their presence with your mana detection abilities?" asked Arryn. Alicia fell silent with her head up. "I don't know if my magic works in this world as it did in Athanor," Alicia replied. "Try it," Arryn pleaded. Alicia quickly did as Arryn asked. The woman stretched her hand forward, casting her magic spell to see which path they had left behind. [Summoning System: Mana Tracking] Alicia's eyes suddenly began to glow bright white. She could see a collection of mana of various colors appearing before her eyes, but there was no single type of mana that Hunt showed. Alicia knew very well what Hunt's mana color was. "I saw various traces of mana, but none of them were similar to Hunt," Alicia explained. She quickly de
"What do you mean?" asked Arryn. Arryn turned slowly to Alicia, trying to understand what Hunt had just said. Ivy turned her body and asked the two beasts again. They spoke using their familiar voices, but both could understand what was being said. Several animals began to walk over after seeing the strange crowd from a distance. Alicia and Arryn stood up, distancing themselves from the animals to prevent anything terrible from happening to them. Arryn saw Ivy's head nod a few times, entirely understood by the tiger's explanation. "They have a prophecy that has existed for thousands of years. Their prophecy explains that this world will be destroyed if a human comes here," Ivy explained. "But we won't destroy their world by any means," Alicia replied, evading. "I know, but what they thought is different. They keep thinking of you as humans who will cause destruction," Hunt explained. Arryn looked at several animals that seemed to have uncomfortable expressions with their presenc
They had nothing to do except follow the orders of the Demon Kingdom's soldiers. The four soldiers put iron shackles on Arryn's and Alicia's hands, ordering the two humans to walk away from this hill toward the Demon King's palace. Different from the four soldiers, the commander of the soldiers didn't seem to talk at all. In fact, he didn't say anything at all. Arryn looked over occasionally, watching the monster while wondering where its mouth and nose were. Arryn began to walk along the main road connected to the top of the hill to reach the bottom, precisely in a small village, before arriving at the capital of the Demon Kingdom, Zuhar. "Do you need my help, Arryn?" asked Ivy. She still accompanied Arryn wherever he went, even though he was shackled and taken to the Demon King's palace. " No, there's no need. I have other plans, Ivy," Arryn explained. "Stay close to me. I don't want to lose you again," Arryn continued. "I won't leave, don't worry, Arryn," Ivy explained. Arry
*** Arryn and Alicia had never thought about what the Demon King was like. They entered under strict guard accompanied by one of the palace officers to meet a small child. At first, they thought that the monsters must be joking, but seeing them kneeling with their heads bowed made them anxious. "It can't be that he's the Demon King, right?" asked Alicia. Arryn grabbed the woman's hand and held it tightly. One of the reasons why he did that was to save Alicia from the Demon King's warrior attack. "Don't ever doubt it, Alicia," Arryn replied. A sword was stuck on the floor where Alicia had been standing. Arryn was lucky to have noticed it; otherwise, Alicia's head might have been split in two. There was a single clap of hands from ahead of Arryn. The voice came from the Demon King, who told his men not to treat Arryn and Alicia harshly. "Don't be like that. We must show the demon kingdom hospitality to the two of them," he replied. The Demon King introduced himself as Ronan. His
