Midnight Misadventure
As the minutes rolled by, the clouds drifted away, and the moon reappeared in the night sky surrounded by her entourage of blinking stars. A cool breeze blew from the east, soothing the senses, and cicadas buzzed in the distance, adding to the feeling of solitude.

Ezra moved closer to Tanya, and she gently leaned on him, laying her head on his shoulder.

“I wish this night could last forever,” she whispered. “I don’t know how this war will end, but I just want to freeze this moment and take comfort in your company while I still can.”

“Don’t worry, we will get through this. Even the darkest night ends when the sun comes out. We just need to have faith,” Ezra replied.
