Ch 004

Some voices sounded rather clear in his ears when his eyes were still closed. Idris slightly moved on the bed and as he opened his eyes he was stunned.

All of a sudden Adam jumped on him and hugged him tight, almost choking him up, "My Lord, you are awake... Why did you do it? Why?"

Hearing him, Idris gulped. He thought they caught him sneaking out until Adam said the next line, "You were lying on the ground when I found you. I was scared. Why didn't you ask me to go with you if you wanted to pick a flower?"

'Seems I haven't gotten caught yet. Thankfully.'

"I wanted to take a look at the flowers haha. Don't cry now, I'm fine. It sounds funny." He let go of his breath and calmed down.

"Fine. I won't cry but if you want to pick a flower then please tell me first ok? I'll pick it up for my Lord."

"Of course."

'I surely remember that there was something strange that pushed me away. But what was it? Such a strong force I felt back then...'

After the last time, Idris thought to try it again. This time he wanted to know what was going on.

Looking around as Idris saw nobody in the scene, he ran towards the wall.

'Do you think your little trick is going to work? See how I leave this place right away.'

This time Idris used the same trick and like before, he was thrown away at a distance. Falling on the ground he touched the corner of his mouth, he coughed out more blood.

His eyes dilated as he understood that no matter how he tried, he was not going to pass through. There was something he couldn't see yet it was there.

"What... What's going on? Why can't I..."

Suddenly he was taken aback as someone walked in front of him.

"I was looking for you. Why didn't you... Idris?" Shasha screamed in panic.

"What? Don't scream, Shasha." Idris was tryna wipe the blood off his mouth when Shasha's words surprised him, "Did you try to run away?"

"What? No, I was just..."

"There's a spell cast around this palace so none of us can go out but people can come in from the outside." Shasha explained.

"So that's why..." Now he understood it clearly, "Wait, but how do you know that?"

"Long ago I also tried to leave this place but every time I tried, I was thrown away with much force." Shasha looked at him with a smile yet he could see the pain she must be feeling deep inside.

"Isn't there a way we can leave?"

"No, the spell wouldn't allow anyone to stay alive once we touch it."

With a sigh Idris looked down, "I see."

"Do you perhaps wanna go out? And if you do, what's the reason?"

Idris looked at his sister, he nodded his head and asserted, "I do. I've my reasons, please don't ask me. So... is there really no way?"

For a moment, Shasha kept staring at the wall then she voiced, "There's a way indeed. I heard that at 4 in the morning, the spell gets weaker. I'll help you but it'll be only 5 minutes, since the spell is a strong one I can only manage to put a hallucination spell. At that time you have to leave the palace but you must promise me that you will be back in one piece."

"Fine. Deal."

"We will do it tomor... Brother. No!"

Tick! Tick!

The ticking sound of the clock hit his ears. Opening his eyes, Idris found himself lying in his bedroom. All he could see was Merle.

Merle with teary eyes hugged him tight while sobbing constantly.

"My boy, why did you try to do this to me? Before doing it, did you think your mother would be able to live if something happened to you?"

'It must be the effect of touching the wall..'

Idris suddenly felt the urge to hug her back. Even though in this world, Idris was an adult in a young boy's body, he thought of Merle as his mother.

"I have only you, Idris. If anything happens to you, I will never be able to live my life. What would I do without you? My son." Merle patted his back, crying and Idris felt like crying too.

In his past life, he never got the motherly warmth from anyone. As he was adopted from an orphanage he had to go through a lot and even though his fake mother showed some love it was nowhere near how it felt from Merle.

"I know I'm not a good mother, I can't give you the toys you want, the things you want. I am a poor mother who has to see her son get hurt when I can't do anything. I can't be of any help." Merle cried out.

Idris wiped off her tears and smiled at her sincerely, "No..."

"You are not a bad mother but you are the best. I am sorry I was reckless this time, I shouldn't have hidden it from you. Mom, I apologise for hurting your feelings and worrying you."

"Idris."

"I don't need any luxury or expensive toys. All I want is for my mother to be happy and safe."

Idris smiled with teary eyes as he felt those true emotions surging within him. He hugged her gently as he buried his worries in her warmth.

Angus always thought why would his mother leave him in an orphanage, sometimes he even thought that he was the bad son. When he saw those mothers with their children and being so happy, he missed his own family so much who didn't care about him. Never did he think he would get that love someday and in another world.

'I am sorry, Mother. From now on, I won't be reckless anymore. I will become powerful and help you get your title and position back... We will get everything that should be ours. And those who have hurt us, I will make them suffer. I promise.'

The Next Day

Idris indeed managed to sneak out of the palace while keeping Merle worry free with the help of his sister. Shasha let him go out with the condition that Adam would follow him around.

After looking for some hours in futile, they were getting tired. Due to being weak, Idris was almost drenched out of his energy yet he couldn't find anyone with the name 'Reiki'.

'I feel sick, but I can't go back yet. This is my only chance. But if this keeps going on, I will die before I find him. What should I do?'

When they were about to give up suddenly a female voice came from the dark alley.

"Looks like someone is in danger. Adam, follow after me."

A group of men surrounded a woman, they all were carrying weapons when the woman had nothing with her.

"Wh-what do you want from me?" The woman stepped backward in fear while the ground of men were walking towards her.

"What do you think?" The fat bald man stared at his underlings and some men walked towards her.

"Give it to me!" They suddenly started pulling a small bag that she was holding for all the time.

"We will take both bag and the woman." The leader ordered such, checking the ingredients in the bag he grinned evilly.

"Please, don't. Ahh!"

Seeing the scenery Idris asked calmly, "Adam, will you be able to take down a few gangsters?"

"Yes, I can do it." Thankfully, Adam knew how to fight. He sounded confident as he stared at those bad guys.

"Great, I want you to kill those gangsters and save that woman."

"Yes, My Lord."

Adam pulled out his sword as he stepped towards the bad guys. Though Adam was not weak, some of the bad guys looked stronger than him. Upon noticing Adam, the bad guys chuckled as they thought he was merely a fool trying to act as a hero to save the Beauty.

"Let the woman go!" Adam stared at them icily as he ordered them.

"Don't be funny, lad. If you don't want to die then get out of here right now."

Adam smirked, hearing them. And then he ran towards them confidently… The leader gestured at his men and they were divided into two teams. Thinking that they could easily take him down, the rest were enjoying the scene but suddenly their facial reaction changed to shock.

The moment Adam killed them in a swift, they were astounded. In no time, the rest of the group surrounded Adam and they attacked him mercilessly.

"Wanna kill me? Nah, not so easy!" Seeing Adam killing them without a second thought, all of a sudden the leader of the gang grabbed the woman and held a knife to her neck. "Put down your weapon or I'll slit her neck!"

"How cowardly you guys are to hold a woman as a captive!" Adam blurted out angrily but he didn't dare move.

Noticing how he gulped and sweated, Idris understood he didn't want to kill her. He nodded his head in denial as he looked at Adam. The leader fuming with anger pulled the woman close, the knife almost piercing her neck. "Still want to fight?"

Gulping Adam took a step back when Idris ordered, "Don't stop! Kill them all!"

The situation was getting worse, on one hand the bad guys didn't move from their places and on the other hand, Adam was at a disadvantage. Idris scanned the surroundings, looking for a way out.

Thinking of a plan, Idris voiced, "I have already notified the security forces in the town. They will be here in no time, you guys better leave before they arrive."

Hearing him the guys looked at each other. Then one of them asserted, "You are lying."

"You will see when they arrive." Though Idris sounded confident, his legs were already trembling.

Before the guys could make a move, one of them looked at a certain direction and cried out, "Look, they are already here."

Everyone's focus went on the five men who arrived there. Idris looked at them with a shocked expression on his face as he muttered, "Who are they?"

"Didn't you say… "

Idris nodded his head in denial and voiced, "I was with you, when did I do it?"

"Then they are…" For a moment Adam was relieved but now, he was no longer confident that he could take them all down.

When they were already confused, the woman suddenly held the bad guy's hand and pushing him away she screamed, "Run!"

But instead of the situation getting better, it became worse. The security guards turned out to be the members of the gangster group. In no time, one of them took Idris as a hostage.

The guy grabbed Idris by his neck and ordered Adam, "Put down your f*cking weapon right now!"

Adam quickly did as he was told, he ran towards Idris but in front of his eyes, the bad guy knocked Idris down.

Seeing his body laying low on the ground, Adam cried out worriedly, "No! My Lord."
