A week after.
The Trials for Elder jang's emerald eyes had become fiercer. The students were improving at a solid rate. Now the vast of them were able to take out the Fiery bodies without any sweat. A good chunk of them were able to evade the air bursts. But they all stopped when it came time to enduring the water dragon's attack.Baxia had become the only one to successfully take an emerald eye. After leaving the medicine house, he didn't waste time in challenging the hole and after many trials he took just one of the emerald eyes.Overall, Elder Jang was very satisfied with what his students showed. They hadn't become strong enough to move mountains and stuff but they were much better than they were before. Now they didn't just rely on their elemental powers but they could also rely on their martial prowess. Something that would be very useful In an unforeseen battle. On the other hand, Harith was making progress too. Every day he would wake up very early in the morning and try to gather energy to his core which he felt at the base of his stomach. Of course he didn't forget the emerald eyes, after giving one to Cho cheong he still had two left which was enough for him now....."Ay, the tournament is just three months away""I remember it just like yesterday. When young lady Seo ling of the Great water serpent sect shone brightly and won the tournament above all else""ay, those people of the Water serpent sect are really strong. Rumor has it that they use strange ways of teaching just so their younger generation could improve faster""With all these rumors flying about who knows what's true and what's not. You see, I've been thinking about something""What might that be?""What if old me joins the tournament too hehe""Old man Joon! You know it's only for people of the younger generation""Haha it's just a thought"Many conversation were going on as the Tournament drew near. Harith had learnt about it. It was a tournament held by the Four sects three people from the younger generations of each sect would battle. Whosoever won was given a prize by the sect's and also sent to other stronger places for more advanced training. They say the Great water Serpent sect has won the tournament four times consecutively!Harith was sitting in the marketplace when he saw a guard run up to him."Are you Jinwu?" The guard asked."Ah yes, what is it?" Harith replied. He had become used to being called Jinwu by everyone now. Even though he still preferred his name Harith, jinwu didn't sound so bad."Elder Jang sent me to you, follow me" The guard said in all seriousness."Elder Jang?" Harith asked in surprise. Why would Elder Jang request his presence now? He had just finished lesson from the youth practitioners house some hours ago and Elder Jang hadn't said anything to him in particular."It's urgent, please hurry" The guard said and walked away.Harith immediately chased after him. Maybe elder Jang had some things to teach him or valuable advice to give him. After all, he still didn't know any spells, maybe elder Jang could teach him some personally. The two left the market side and arrived in a place that was much quieter. A place Harith was very familiar with. After all, this was where he had killed a man wasn't it?"What would elder Jang be doing in a place like this?" Harith muttered as he followed the guard into the sandy ground. The most nearby house was atleast a kilometer away."What wou-" As Harith tried to voice out his thoughts he noticed that the guard he was following earlier had suddenly disappeared."Eh? where's he?" Harith looked around. All he could see was the yellow sand and a few trees nearby. There were no signs of any human presence other than his."Could it be..." Harith suddenly came to a realization. "oh no...a ghost!" Harith's heart melted. If his deductions were correct then the person he had been following for quite a while was a ghost. If there was anything he feared apart from losing his life then it was encountering a ghost. An urban legend had been flying around that a vengeful soul would lead youngsters into lonely places and claim their lives. It would then leave in search of it's next preys.*Rustle* The leaves of a tree nearby was shaken and Harith's heart melted even further."W.. who's there?" Harith spoke in fear. "C..come out" Harith took a step back.*Rustle* The leaves kept shaking and Harith was getting more scared by the minute."come out or I swe....swear to God I'll blast you" Harith said as he raised his fist. Fire slowly spreading around it. If it was truly a ghost then the fire would be of no use, he was just putting up a front. He was ready to run for his life if anything strange stepped out.*Thud* A body landed and Harith screamed at the top of his lungs."it's me Brother Jinwu...it's me dang ju" Dang ju dusted his clothes as he spoke."D...dang ju?" Harith took some sand and threw it at Dang ju. Seeing the sand touch him and nothing happening after, Harith heaved a sigh of relief and the fire on his fist quickly died down."Ah, I see you're now able to use fire" Dang ju said as he looked at Harith's smoking fist. He had very observant eyes."What do you want this time?" Harith ignored his question and asked.Truthfully, Dang ju hadn't let him have a day of rest for the past week. Dang ju had harassed him on multiple occasions in his quest to obtain one of his emerald eyes...which Harith was willing to give. This punk hadn't even gone two sentences and he had already mentioned the emerald eyes."Ah Brother Jinwu, you should know why I brought you here" Dang ju said "Don't you want to help a fellow brother?""I don't" Harith rolled his eyes an said."I'm just asking for one...just one. You see how the emerald eye worked wonders. It even helped someone as useless as you to be able to gather energy and use his element in just a week's time. Wouldn't want this same fate for someone who trains alongside you? I've had a serious mental block and I haven't been able to progress much..." Dang ju had a somewhat pleading face."Someone as useless as I am?" Harith picked up on the few keywords. This bastard had dared call him useless when he was actively practically begging him for an emerald eye?"Say, dang ju...is it?" Harith smirked."Park Dang ju heh" Dang ju chuckled. As soon as he saw Harith's smile he knew his week of trouble was over. Harith had finally given in to him."Park Dang ju ah? I'm curious about something" Harith stroked his chin " How is it that that huge sack of meat you carry around was able to rest on that tree without breaking it?""W...what?" Dang ju's smile disappeared instantly as his voice shook."Cmon, atleast one or two braches should broken from the sheer weight you carry around. Oh wait...look" Harith pointed at the tree "A branch really broke!" Harith said with a shocked voice.Dang ju looked at the broken branch as his he gritted his teeth and his eyes gradually became anger filled."ah I would have wondered if atleast one branch hadn't broken. An elephant can't rest on a bench and expect it to be ok after that" Harith laughed."Y...you...YOU BASTARD!!!" Dang ju screamed as he ran towards Harith."oh oh, careful now. If you keep running like that...an earthquake might occur" Harith was merciless. He kept shooting out words that hurt like a thousand dagger plunged deep in Dang ju's stomach. If there was one thing Harith discovered after a week of being troubled by this certain individual, it was that he was really very insecure about his looks and body. Harith had found out the hard way earlier. But now that this guy blatantly called him useless....he gave zero fucks. Besides...if he didn't take care of this issue once and for all then it would become a recurring thorn in his side later on."I'LL KILL YOU!!" Dang ju spoke with a bloodlusted eyes as he grabbed onto Harith."missed me" Harith dodged to the side. He hadn't just only trained his core during this week...he has also worked on his martial arts too. With elder Jang constant nagging about the importance of martial arts even he had no choice but to listen. And he had also tried the challenge...he was no longer unable to put up a fight like before. As Harith dodge he punched Dang ju in the cheek.Dang ju staggered to the right and spat out. "Arrghh!" He took out something from his pocket and threw it at Harith. The object flew to Harith and circled around his legs, tightening around them. The momentary immobilization made Harith a sitting duck for Dang ju.Dang ju grabbed Harith by the Hair with his left first and delivered a very heavy punch with his right."Fffffuck!" Harith felt like someone had just hit his face with a fucking steel baton. This guy's punch hurt more than he expected.Dang ju grabbed Harith and delivered a knee to his guts.Harith's eyes rolled up. The pain was fucking unbearable!"Don't ever MOCK ME!" Dang ju screamed as he grabbed Harith again and this time went for a more unconventional move. His knee was definitely on its way to destroy Harith precious jewels (His balls!)'My babies!' Harith gasped and immediately disregarded his pain to defend against the knee. He struggled to maintain balance with his legs tied together but still managed to elbow away Dang ju's approaching knee. As soon as he did that, the hand flamed. And from above came a rising uppercut that certainly broke dang ju's jaw.Harith could swear dang ju hung in the floor for a moment as the punch came in contact with his jaw before fell to the ground in absolute agony.Seizing that chance, Harith quickly untied the object and had a clear look at it. It was a flexible robe with some beads on it. Looking very much like a bracelet one would wear on the wrist. He tore off a part of his shirt and wiped off the blood from his face. "If you want the emerald eyes then come take it" Harith taunted.Dang ju was still grovelling in pain. He had lost not less than one tooth from that punch. He had no idea Jinwu's punch packed that much strength! "Cmon now, get up...isn't this what you want?" Harith taunted as he took out an emerald eye from his pocket. Obviously he had no intention of giving Dang ju the emerald eye. But he was lacking fun these days...and he'd just found the perfect way to get off. As soon as Dang ju saw the emerald eyes he immediately got up. H took a deep breathe and struggled his best to keep a smile "Brother Jinwu we don't have to do it this way" "Hmm? What other way is there?" Harith raised one of his brows. "ok ok, just lend it to me for a while. I promise I'll give you after a week" Dang ju bargained. "N-" Harith was about to refuse when his mind clicked as he saw a particular object on the floor. "Alright then" Harith said and smiled. "R... really??" Dang ju was surprised. He hasn't expected Harith to give in at all. Not after what they had just gone through and also the behaviour Harith had towards him throughout the past week. "Yes, but..." Harith said as his smile got even wider. "B..but what?" Dang ju was anxious. Harith's but wasn't anything to look forward to. All the times he had said buts, bad things had always followed almost immediately after. "You'll have to give me this for a week too" Harith said as he raised the bead up. Dang ju frowned instantly "No, anything else but that. I'll give u anything...money even, just not that" He shook his head vigorously. 'Gotcha' Harith thought. In his time of staying here he had seen many special weapons used by the students, most famous of which was the young master's sword. He had researched on it and discovered that they belonged to a special type of weapons which were produced using the energy of the earth. Most of them had many special abilities. And some even said those weapons of higher quality were sentient. When he touched the weapon earlier he had felt a mysterious energy within it, and he guessed it was also a special weapon. He wanted it! "I see you don't really need it" Harith said and threatened to tuck the emerald eye back in. "Wait!" Dang ju immediately called out to him. "Have you changed your mind?" Harith's cunning smile returned. "Think about it...I can offer you something mo-" Dang ju was about to try his luck again but when he saw Harith lose further interest he gave off a defeated sigh. "you can have it" He said as he cleaned his lips. "Good. Nice doing business with you" Harith tossed him the emerald eye and wore the bead on his arm. He just got his first special weapon!Harith had a smile as he walked back to the marketplace. He was feeling especially happy as he looked at the red bead on his hand. Sure, an emerald eye was probably worth more than this bead but he had a plan in place. A plan that would grant him both the bead and the emerald eye. For now, he was satisfied with just this."Harith! I'm happy I met you here" As Harith reached the marketplace cho cheong called him from afar. She seemed like she was in search of something."What are you doing out here on this hot afternoon?" Harith asked with a smile."Tch" Cho cheong hissed and tapped him on the head. "So should I just stay home all day?" "ow!" Harith held his forehead "aren't you the one always concerned about your skin?!" Harith puffed earning another knock from Cho cheong."Shut it and help me" Cho cheong rolled her eyes.Harith rubbed the his forehead. He was certain it had gotten red...that little devil. "What do you want?" Harith asked. Cho cheong wasn't one to be out in a public
As the two finally left the confines of the sect, Harith was surprised to see the outer world. There was a barrier surrounding the whole sect, it seemed to be as a result of the earlier incident with the young master. But as they stepped out of the barrier Harith wasn't expecting what he saw."R...rocks?" Harith looked around. The gate of the sect was just behind them, but apart from that everything around him was full of nothing but rocks. Red rocks that looked like they had been endlessly hammered by the scorching sun that showed no mercy to man and earth alike."It's not just all rocks" Cho cheong rolled her eyes and picked up the pace. It was almost night time so they had to atleast get to the nearest transport station before that."Where do we go from here?" Harith asked. From what he could see, the rocks stretched endlessly never having an ending. "There's a transport station nearby. It's just about five kilometers from here" She said as she kicked a nearby stone."Huh?!" Harit
This was Harith's first time of seeing one(obviously). It had the head of a lion but the body of a horse. Very strange and fear inspiring."phew" Cho cheong exhaled a breath of relief. She was glad to see they had really arrived. No matter how much she travelled she still couldn't get used to the dangers and liabilities. That was part of the reason why she had Harith come with her. But seeing as they had arrived safely she could now relax."uh...u have something on your cheek" Harith shakily pointed to cho cheong's mouth."hmm?" Cho cheong said as she touched her lips. She felt a bumb on it, a bumb that had a very tough texture and felt like it was segmented. She immediately panicked and smacked her cheeks not caring for the damage it could possibly do to her face. The thing she had smacked away jumped and landed on Harith's arm. Harith in turn panicked. The shii felt like a huge fucking cockroach crawling on his arms. She waved his hand around violently, even going to the point of se
"Phew" Harith let out a sigh of relief. as he surveyed Central city. The cool breeze that came by every once in a while and the fesh air in the atmosphere was something he really appreciated. He had decided to leave before an awkward situation would develop in the room and have a feel of central city for himself. From what Cho cheong said it seemed like they would be leaving for the sect tomorrow so he had to take time really explore the area while he still had the chance.Harith patted his pocket. He could hear the coins jiggle. He had take a part of the money he came with. He was planning to buy somethings...anything."Did you hear? The arena has been opened again. A fierce fight is currently happening""Let's go check it out then, I have nothing better to do anyway" Two men were having a conversation as they walked which Harith picked up on."Arena?" He muttered and followed them. It seemed like they were talking about a fighting arena. As he followed them more the sound of a chee
"Yess I have it!" A man screamed as he ran towards the stage with a crazy look on his face. It was like a fast and furious movie but instead of racing cars they were running very fast. The man had the whole crowd chasing him but he made it just in time to reach the announcer and hand him the ball in his hand. The man was breathing very heavily. He had overcome the odds and sneakily take the bead that that boy had thrown. Since he was an air elementalists he had speeds much faster than the average human so he was able to just be ahead of the crowd enough to reach the announcer."I'm sorry we already have our two winners" The announcer shook his head."W...what?" The man's smile wavered. "W...what do you mean? Didn't I bring back the ball as you asked?!!" He said."Take a look at what you brought me" The announcer said and handed him the object. The man was confused but still took the object and took a deep look at it. "H...ho...how?" As soon as he realized what it was that he held the
"My name's Harith, what's yours?" Harith asked as he walked behind Seo ling."Seo ling, you can call me ling" Seo ling answered."Seo ling, what a beautiful name. Where are you from?" Harith praised."North side" Seo ling answered shortly."The north side..." Harith muttered. He could think of any remarkable places in the north he had read of except the Great water serpent sect. "The Great water serpent sect?" He asked."What would you like to eat?" Seo ling ignored his question and asked."Ah that..." Harith scratched his head. "I don't really know the type of food they have here. How bout treating me to your best meal" "My best meal? Hmmm" Seo ling placed her hand on her chin and thought. "Aha, I know just what's best for you!" "Heh, what's that" Harith chuckled a bit."Rice cakes!" Seo ling said with bright eyes. "I know a seller just down the street who sells them on a stand" she pointed at the end of the street.Truly, Harith could see a stand at the end of the street but he co
The night was cold, although the hustle and bustle of central city still remained it wasn't as much as in the day and was a little bit on the calmer side. Most of the major shops seemed to be closed leaving only the small time vendors open and people still patronized them much.In the midst of all this, a young man walked with a bitter smile on his face. He held a unique hammer with red engravings.Harith thought on his days so far. First he had arrived a new city then he joined what was sort of a fight ring, got beaten badly but he met a cute girl. He spent the whole day with her, she gave him a gift after and disappeared like it was all just a dream."I hope we meet again" Harith muttered as he took out a rice cake he had kept in his jacket and ate it."oh shit" Harith slowly came to the realization that he was fucking lost. He was too busy chatting with Seo ling earlier to even keep track of the directions she took to Uncle jao's place. And he was far from Uncle Jao's place since h
*Click* The lock of the door opened and a very imposing man was revealed. He was dressed in a very fancy formal looking attire. All in polished white. Like the stain of the world couldn't even touch him. Looking to be in his late thirties and a sharp jawline to go with chiseles features. Hair slicked back and silky black with a smile that could charm even the most rigid. A charismatic business man!"Hmm Come on in" The man said and went back to his couch.Justin was too stunned to said anything. Never in his life had he been impressed by a man so much with just mere appearance.Cho cheong entered with confidence and she ran to the man and gave him a hug forcefully. "Big brother Jang!" She screamed with glee.Cho Jang gave a light chuckle and patted her back. "I've missed you!" Cho cheong buried her face in his chest.Cho cheong struggled to maintain the serious look he had earlier. Cho cheong, his favourite cousin, was always clingy with him. Ever since childhood, she would follow him
“I am glad you are awake” A voice said as a small figure approached, a young boy with long, black hair and a red robe. He had a gentle smile and was accompanied by a person who looked like a shadow. “ I have been waiting for you for a long time. I hope you will be able to help us” the boy said as he bowed his head.“I don't understand, who is this?" Mendel asked. The Shadow replied “He has been sent by the god of death, it seems that your soul was meant to go to World Z” he paused for a moment, “and I have to say, that I'm very happy to meet you. I like your personality and I can see you'll make a good leader one day”“Wait, I thought the gods didn't care about the living?”“That they never cared? No, that was wrong. They gave their blessing to our leaders and taught them how to lead others. We follow them because we trust them” The man said, explaining the reason of the people of the world. “But, I believe there was something else. Something even more important. It was the promise of
Wang minThe eldest of them was Heng. A handsome man with hair that flowed like the waves on the sea, he wore robes and had a staff in his hand. His eyes were calm pools of blue, and his skin was soft but clear. He liked spending time outdoors, tending to the plants and trees around him. When he came across a beautiful girl, he would take her home and spend some time with her alone. It was no secret to the world how much he liked women, and most people thought it was because of how strong the water source was there.However... it wasn’t exactly true. One day, Heng had taken a stroll through the city. His mind was filled with thoughts of flowers and other beautiful creatures, and as he made his way through the crowd, he accidentally bumped into someone. This surprised him at first, since everyone knew that there weren't many people who walked about like he did. But the person he'd bumped into looked oddly familiar. As he stood there and took stock of his surroundings, he realized that h
The emperor is a man of many secrets and few words; his face has never been seen by anyone outside the palace walls since he was born in this country thousands of years ago. His father died when Shoan was very young so that meant it was up to him now to protect the empire from its enemies both foreign and domestic. He had no choice but to be strong for those who depended on him, even if they didn't deserve it. In truth though he could have done without them all together because some were just too annoying or stupid to deal with. One day while sitting alone in his office pondering over how best to kill someone, which took forever these days thanks to their constant neediness, an idea struck him like lightning through a thunderstorm—he would make sure everyone else dies before killing himself. The only problem was that there wasn't enough time left between one person dying and another being born to get everything done in a timely manner…unless he found a way around that pesky little fac
The first thing he noticed was the smell. The air in the room stank of blood and death, but it wasn't a sweet scent like that of freshly spilled entrails or a butcher's shop. It smelled more like the sour tang of old vomit mixed with urine, which made him think of his mother's chamber pot after she'd been sick for days on end. He wrinkled his nose at the thought and tried to ignore the odor as best he could, though it didn't do much good. His stomach still growled loudly enough to make him wince."You're awake," said a voice from behind him. "That's a start."He turned around slowly, trying not to look too eager. A man sat against one wall, watching him intently. He had dark hair and eyes, and a scar ran across his face just below his left eye. He wore black leather armor and carried a longsword strapped to his back. His name came to mind almost immediately: Captain Rolfe.Rolfe stood up and walked over to the bedside. He pulled back the sheets and looked down at Aram's body. Then he r
A brief moment of silence filled the audience as they watched a person exit the Battlefield through the circle barrier. An elimination had occured....an elimination of a member of the raging flames sect?!An instant roar came from the crowd as soon as Jung du landed on the outside of the circle."w...what?!" Jung du looked around him carefully and then looked in front. He could clearly see the barrier seperaying him and the others inside the circle. But how? How was it possible? Had he been eliminated?!The first point of the first elimination had actually gone to the Great water Serpent sect's side, even against the odds. How?! ....Judith smirk got even wider as she took a quick glancce at Jung du and retrieved her hammer. She had scored the first elimination for her team, as a captain that was one of the best things she could do to uplift her team's spirit."Damnit" Sao gang muttered as he dodged an icy blue knife that was thrown his way. Even though he was battling someone, his m
"Wonderful" Harith's eyes shone with a light he'd never shown before. He had just seen a technique, a move that was mine blowing. A game changing power infact. This was the thing alice had relied on to take him by surprise and then she called him weak after. She had repelled a sure hit attack right back to the user... it was something Harith could very much use if he ever got his hands on it. ..... *Boom* The ice on the floor shattered into pieces as Layla crash on it. But without wasting time sulking on the icy floor, Layla swallowed her pain and got right up. With a heavy jump she flew upwards, flinging herself towards Baxia and grabbing him by the neck. Baxia had a face filled with irritation..These four were hell bent on stopping him from making his move. And they knew they couldn't win in a fair fight so they were trying to stop him from achieving victory, at least this way. Baxia didn't think Layla would ever let go of him but still... he couldn't afford to t
Harith wheezed and gasped for air as he tried to take Alice's leg away from his chest but it was to no avail. The earlier attack had really weakened him. He didn't have the slightest idea of what happened. First he had made an attack and successfully predicted that Alice would dodge it, and then he made a backup attack-One that was guaranteed to hit. But as soon as he made the attack he was struck...What the fuck was going on! "I expected more" Alice clicked her tongue, the candy in her mouth dancing around. With a rise of her arms she lifted up the scythe and brought it down with all her power! *Crack!* As soon as Alice lifted up the scythe and exposed her face, a punch came crashing into her. The punch was so devastating it dislocated Alice's jaw. Alice's eyes turned and she staggered backwards, struggling to even keep hold of her scythe. *Bang!* Before Alice could recover from the first punch, another one came in. This time right to the temple. Never in her life had alice fe
"Stop him!" Layla shouted as she rushed towards Baxia, leaving her opponent behind. She couldn't give a shit about who it was that she faced, all that was on her mind was protecting her sister from this monster of a guy. The raging flames sect students were more than surprised, three of their members had suddenly become free of fighting. The Great water serpent sect students they faced before had all retreated to go defend Judith. It was now Five versus Nine- The five being the remaining members of the Great water Serpent, and the Nine being the Members of the great water serpent sect without Baxia. Harith, though, wasn't as fortunate at the rest. The Petite girl with ponytails and a candy in her mouth still refused to leave Harith. Harith was frustrated, he had only met this girl once-Which was the during the time the raging flames sect first fought the great water serpent sect in the poking rounds. And even then, their encounter was short. But now, why
Outside the circleThe Great water serpent sect's side was so quiet that if one dropped a pin in the midst of them, they would hear it. The students in the circle were among the strongest of the sect, and Judith was the second strongest....second only to the sect master's daughter. But still- Baxia had knocked her out cold in one punch like it was second nature. And he just Knocked out another one of the students! Elder Jang had a smile on his face. He knew who Baxia was. Baxia couldn't accept any form of defeat without retaliating, even at the cost of his life. Although this trait made taking stupid decisions common for Baxia, this time, elder Jang was going to put the trait to good use.
