"Come here, sit down." Cho cheong guided Harith to her chair as he held his nose. She brought out a handkerchief from her pocket and offered it to him.
"Thanks" Harith took the handkerchief and pressed it on his nose. There was still much blood on it so the handkerchief was soaked in a few seconds.Cho cheong offered him another and finally the blood rush was stable."You shouldn't be getting into fights now, you know you're still not strong enough. How would you have defended yourself if Dang ju really wanted to attack you?" Cho cheong nagged him with a worried look."A fight? He was the one who attacked me when I did nothing to him!" Harith was perplexed at her words. The fuck did she mean he got into a fight, getting into a fight involved two or more parties mutually attacking each other. That was not the case earlier."Did you by any chance insult his looks or say anything about his body?" Cho cheong asked."...." Harith was speechless. He had a guilty look. He had clearly called that fat bastard a fat bastard earlier...oops."Whatever it may be, just make sure to avoid fighting anyone...especially Dang ju. He might be the weakest but there's a reason not many people want to mess with him" She sighed. "I'll go get some ice" She got and walked away."Cho cheong" Harith called just before she could leave entirely."Hmm?" She turned back.Harith then ran up to her, took her hand and placed an object in her palm "Here take this" Harith smiled as he talked."Oh, What's th-" Cho cheong froze as she saw the object Harith had placed in her palm. "Is this what I think it is?" Cho cheong was shocked. From the energy she felt gathering in her palm...surely this had to be..."An emerald eye, it's an emerald eye. I saw you badly needed one so I decided to share my other one with you" Harith said with all sincerity."N...no I can't accept this" Cho cheong said and tried to return the emerald eye to him."I'll be waiting for the ice" Harith said and left leaving her hanging.Cho cheong's eyes became red as tears threatened to fall off. This guy...this ordinary looking boy that she had meet just a day or two ago just gave her an emerald eye out of sheer kindness. They didn't even know eachother that well for him to take something as valuable as an emerald eye and give it to her. How could she ever repay him?....Harith sat back down and sighed. He was tired and feeling sleepy, he couldn't handle waking up early even in his previous life. His tired body was filled with joy though, he had given a friend something they desperately needed. Now he truly knew how great the joy of giving was.Suddenly blood dripped from the handkerchief and landed on his laps. As Harith looked at the blood he remembered Dang ju and the joy in him was replaced by a desperation for revenge."Oi, did you hear?""What?""They said those people from the Great serpent water sect would be coming again soon. And this time it would be more grandeur""Eh....why would they do that?""Don't you know the tournament is coming up soon? This frequent challenges are custom before the main tournament I heard"Harith picked on a conversation that was going on among the students. He sought more knowledge about this place so he tried to listen to every conversation he found meaningful. It seemed those people were from yesterday were from a sect called Water sect. And what was this thing about a tournament?"Ey do you know the prize for the tournament this year?""I'm not too sure but some say the winner will be given the great cultivation cauldron to train with for a month's time!" Harith listened on."I'm back" Cho cheong's voice interrupted his concentration. She took the ice pack and placed it gently on his nose. "Do not take this off for an hour ok?!" She was really forceful."Ok ok" Harith nodded quickly and held the ice pack himself. "Thank you" Harith suddenly said."Hmm?" Cho cheong was confused. Thank you? Who was he thanking? Her? If anyone should be thankful then it was her to him. After all he had just given her something she got beaten up black and blue for and still didn't get it in the end.But Harith didn't think of it that way. He looked at her in the eyes and smiled. It was a very sincere smile, something that Harith hadn't done in a while. "Thank you for taking care of me" Harith continued. As an orphan he had the worst possible childhood. He had to learn how to fend for himself from an early age. He took on petty errands from strangers just so they could let him eat a small portion of their food. And he sleep in the dark corners of the streets. He lived like this for a very long time, putting himself through school all alone till the University level. It was nothing short of a miracle how a child could survive by himself all for so long, put himself through school, and still come out as a decent man. That was the only reason why Harith could leave in that run down apartment before, he considered it an upgrade from his previous living conditions even. And during this course he had no one else to rely on other than himself. No one to treat him when he got wounded. No one to administer medicine and watch over him when he was having a night fever. Even the girlfriend he had didn't care about him that much. He wasn't used to receiving acts of kindness from people, and Cho cheong's sincere worry about him and her effort to make sure he was ok. Even if it was just the normal thing to do...it still shook his heart."Oh, it's nothing. You're my friend aren't you? Friends should look after each other" Cho cheong smiled and took her book."Yes.... we're friends" Harith answered quietly as he made a silent vow in his heart.....Outside the Sect's medicine HouseElder Jang and the sect master sat with grim faces. The young master was currently being treated inside, they said the injury wasn't life threatening, but since it came close to the place his core resided then it would be a while before he fully recovered."So Elder rose came here" The sect master said with a heavy voice."yes. I tried to avoid it but the lives of my students were threatened" Elder Jang sighed."And so you let my son fight with them? You of all people should know the grievances they have with him. Why would you even let them come close to him!" The sect master was angered. Anyone who had been alive sixteen years ago would know the circumstances around Baxia's birth...especially Elder Jang."I know and I tried to stop him but he insisted" Elder Jang was at a loss for what to do. The more he listened to the sect master's words the more his reasoning and suspicions grew. Why would Rose, of all people, barge into the sect unannounced and basically give his students free emerald eyes. But then she immediately left after Baxia's fight even though one match still remained. It was like she came there just for him."The signs...the signs...if any harm comes to my son from this incident Elder Jang, the blame would rest on your shoulders" The sect master said with a stinging tongue and left.Elder Jang sighed. He was in the wrong he clearly knew. There were other ways he could have solved yesterday's incident instead of giving in to Rose's advances. And the way the power of her student sky rocketed immediately Baxia stepped up. It was just too suspicious.....The Great water Serpent sectThe Great Water Serpent sect was Located at the north region. That was where the temperatures were coldest. Legends say the ancestor who had stumbled upon that region met a Great Serpent resting in the ice. She killed the serpent and a great energy was given off into the atmosphere. This energy spread throughout the northern region and all who were born there were water elementalists. The Great water serpent sect was then established by the descendant of the ancestor and their power grew to the point that they controlled the whole northern region. Something rarely seen. Other sects which were located in other regions had yet to fully control them and the Great water serpent sect had made history with it's power. Rumor had it that The current sect master wasn't satisfied with only one region......"Sect master Seo Hwa" A familiar voice resounded through the dark empty space. Elder rose Stood with her head bowed.A white light appeared in the darkness and the wall's became visible. They were made of Ice!"Speak" An authoritative voice commanded."The mission was a success master, the poison has been planted in The raging flames sect master's son" Rose said."Good, you will be commended later for your efforts" The voice spoke with a sign of satisfaction."Thank you Master" Rose was visibly joyed as she heard the words."And before I forget...how is his battle ability?" The voice asked."Nothing too surprising Master. He struggled to defeat an average student of mine. He would be no match for Lady Chae won" Rose said with a smirk."Hmm. You may leave now" The voice said. Rose bowed once again and left the cold space. "The child of prophecy eh? And struggling with an average student of mine...interesting" The voice wondered.A week after. The Trials for Elder jang's emerald eyes had become fiercer. The students were improving at a solid rate. Now the vast of them were able to take out the Fiery bodies without any sweat. A good chunk of them were able to evade the air bursts. But they all stopped when it came time to enduring the water dragon's attack.Baxia had become the only one to successfully take an emerald eye. After leaving the medicine house, he didn't waste time in challenging the hole and after many trials he took just one of the emerald eyes. Overall, Elder Jang was very satisfied with what his students showed. They hadn't become strong enough to move mountains and stuff but they were much better than they were before. Now they didn't just rely on their elemental powers but they could also rely on their martial prowess. Something that would be very useful In an unforeseen battle. On the other hand, Harith was making progress too. Every day he would wake up very early in the morning and try to
Harith had a smile as he walked back to the marketplace. He was feeling especially happy as he looked at the red bead on his hand. Sure, an emerald eye was probably worth more than this bead but he had a plan in place. A plan that would grant him both the bead and the emerald eye. For now, he was satisfied with just this."Harith! I'm happy I met you here" As Harith reached the marketplace cho cheong called him from afar. She seemed like she was in search of something."What are you doing out here on this hot afternoon?" Harith asked with a smile."Tch" Cho cheong hissed and tapped him on the head. "So should I just stay home all day?" "ow!" Harith held his forehead "aren't you the one always concerned about your skin?!" Harith puffed earning another knock from Cho cheong."Shut it and help me" Cho cheong rolled her eyes.Harith rubbed the his forehead. He was certain it had gotten red...that little devil. "What do you want?" Harith asked. Cho cheong wasn't one to be out in a public
As the two finally left the confines of the sect, Harith was surprised to see the outer world. There was a barrier surrounding the whole sect, it seemed to be as a result of the earlier incident with the young master. But as they stepped out of the barrier Harith wasn't expecting what he saw."R...rocks?" Harith looked around. The gate of the sect was just behind them, but apart from that everything around him was full of nothing but rocks. Red rocks that looked like they had been endlessly hammered by the scorching sun that showed no mercy to man and earth alike."It's not just all rocks" Cho cheong rolled her eyes and picked up the pace. It was almost night time so they had to atleast get to the nearest transport station before that."Where do we go from here?" Harith asked. From what he could see, the rocks stretched endlessly never having an ending. "There's a transport station nearby. It's just about five kilometers from here" She said as she kicked a nearby stone."Huh?!" Harit
This was Harith's first time of seeing one(obviously). It had the head of a lion but the body of a horse. Very strange and fear inspiring."phew" Cho cheong exhaled a breath of relief. She was glad to see they had really arrived. No matter how much she travelled she still couldn't get used to the dangers and liabilities. That was part of the reason why she had Harith come with her. But seeing as they had arrived safely she could now relax."uh...u have something on your cheek" Harith shakily pointed to cho cheong's mouth."hmm?" Cho cheong said as she touched her lips. She felt a bumb on it, a bumb that had a very tough texture and felt like it was segmented. She immediately panicked and smacked her cheeks not caring for the damage it could possibly do to her face. The thing she had smacked away jumped and landed on Harith's arm. Harith in turn panicked. The shii felt like a huge fucking cockroach crawling on his arms. She waved his hand around violently, even going to the point of se
"Phew" Harith let out a sigh of relief. as he surveyed Central city. The cool breeze that came by every once in a while and the fesh air in the atmosphere was something he really appreciated. He had decided to leave before an awkward situation would develop in the room and have a feel of central city for himself. From what Cho cheong said it seemed like they would be leaving for the sect tomorrow so he had to take time really explore the area while he still had the chance.Harith patted his pocket. He could hear the coins jiggle. He had take a part of the money he came with. He was planning to buy somethings...anything."Did you hear? The arena has been opened again. A fierce fight is currently happening""Let's go check it out then, I have nothing better to do anyway" Two men were having a conversation as they walked which Harith picked up on."Arena?" He muttered and followed them. It seemed like they were talking about a fighting arena. As he followed them more the sound of a chee
"Yess I have it!" A man screamed as he ran towards the stage with a crazy look on his face. It was like a fast and furious movie but instead of racing cars they were running very fast. The man had the whole crowd chasing him but he made it just in time to reach the announcer and hand him the ball in his hand. The man was breathing very heavily. He had overcome the odds and sneakily take the bead that that boy had thrown. Since he was an air elementalists he had speeds much faster than the average human so he was able to just be ahead of the crowd enough to reach the announcer."I'm sorry we already have our two winners" The announcer shook his head."W...what?" The man's smile wavered. "W...what do you mean? Didn't I bring back the ball as you asked?!!" He said."Take a look at what you brought me" The announcer said and handed him the object. The man was confused but still took the object and took a deep look at it. "H...ho...how?" As soon as he realized what it was that he held the
"My name's Harith, what's yours?" Harith asked as he walked behind Seo ling."Seo ling, you can call me ling" Seo ling answered."Seo ling, what a beautiful name. Where are you from?" Harith praised."North side" Seo ling answered shortly."The north side..." Harith muttered. He could think of any remarkable places in the north he had read of except the Great water serpent sect. "The Great water serpent sect?" He asked."What would you like to eat?" Seo ling ignored his question and asked."Ah that..." Harith scratched his head. "I don't really know the type of food they have here. How bout treating me to your best meal" "My best meal? Hmmm" Seo ling placed her hand on her chin and thought. "Aha, I know just what's best for you!" "Heh, what's that" Harith chuckled a bit."Rice cakes!" Seo ling said with bright eyes. "I know a seller just down the street who sells them on a stand" she pointed at the end of the street.Truly, Harith could see a stand at the end of the street but he co
The night was cold, although the hustle and bustle of central city still remained it wasn't as much as in the day and was a little bit on the calmer side. Most of the major shops seemed to be closed leaving only the small time vendors open and people still patronized them much.In the midst of all this, a young man walked with a bitter smile on his face. He held a unique hammer with red engravings.Harith thought on his days so far. First he had arrived a new city then he joined what was sort of a fight ring, got beaten badly but he met a cute girl. He spent the whole day with her, she gave him a gift after and disappeared like it was all just a dream."I hope we meet again" Harith muttered as he took out a rice cake he had kept in his jacket and ate it."oh shit" Harith slowly came to the realization that he was fucking lost. He was too busy chatting with Seo ling earlier to even keep track of the directions she took to Uncle jao's place. And he was far from Uncle Jao's place since h
“I am glad you are awake” A voice said as a small figure approached, a young boy with long, black hair and a red robe. He had a gentle smile and was accompanied by a person who looked like a shadow. “ I have been waiting for you for a long time. I hope you will be able to help us” the boy said as he bowed his head.“I don't understand, who is this?" Mendel asked. The Shadow replied “He has been sent by the god of death, it seems that your soul was meant to go to World Z” he paused for a moment, “and I have to say, that I'm very happy to meet you. I like your personality and I can see you'll make a good leader one day”“Wait, I thought the gods didn't care about the living?”“That they never cared? No, that was wrong. They gave their blessing to our leaders and taught them how to lead others. We follow them because we trust them” The man said, explaining the reason of the people of the world. “But, I believe there was something else. Something even more important. It was the promise of
Wang minThe eldest of them was Heng. A handsome man with hair that flowed like the waves on the sea, he wore robes and had a staff in his hand. His eyes were calm pools of blue, and his skin was soft but clear. He liked spending time outdoors, tending to the plants and trees around him. When he came across a beautiful girl, he would take her home and spend some time with her alone. It was no secret to the world how much he liked women, and most people thought it was because of how strong the water source was there.However... it wasn’t exactly true. One day, Heng had taken a stroll through the city. His mind was filled with thoughts of flowers and other beautiful creatures, and as he made his way through the crowd, he accidentally bumped into someone. This surprised him at first, since everyone knew that there weren't many people who walked about like he did. But the person he'd bumped into looked oddly familiar. As he stood there and took stock of his surroundings, he realized that h
The emperor is a man of many secrets and few words; his face has never been seen by anyone outside the palace walls since he was born in this country thousands of years ago. His father died when Shoan was very young so that meant it was up to him now to protect the empire from its enemies both foreign and domestic. He had no choice but to be strong for those who depended on him, even if they didn't deserve it. In truth though he could have done without them all together because some were just too annoying or stupid to deal with. One day while sitting alone in his office pondering over how best to kill someone, which took forever these days thanks to their constant neediness, an idea struck him like lightning through a thunderstorm—he would make sure everyone else dies before killing himself. The only problem was that there wasn't enough time left between one person dying and another being born to get everything done in a timely manner…unless he found a way around that pesky little fac
The first thing he noticed was the smell. The air in the room stank of blood and death, but it wasn't a sweet scent like that of freshly spilled entrails or a butcher's shop. It smelled more like the sour tang of old vomit mixed with urine, which made him think of his mother's chamber pot after she'd been sick for days on end. He wrinkled his nose at the thought and tried to ignore the odor as best he could, though it didn't do much good. His stomach still growled loudly enough to make him wince."You're awake," said a voice from behind him. "That's a start."He turned around slowly, trying not to look too eager. A man sat against one wall, watching him intently. He had dark hair and eyes, and a scar ran across his face just below his left eye. He wore black leather armor and carried a longsword strapped to his back. His name came to mind almost immediately: Captain Rolfe.Rolfe stood up and walked over to the bedside. He pulled back the sheets and looked down at Aram's body. Then he r
A brief moment of silence filled the audience as they watched a person exit the Battlefield through the circle barrier. An elimination had occured....an elimination of a member of the raging flames sect?!An instant roar came from the crowd as soon as Jung du landed on the outside of the circle."w...what?!" Jung du looked around him carefully and then looked in front. He could clearly see the barrier seperaying him and the others inside the circle. But how? How was it possible? Had he been eliminated?!The first point of the first elimination had actually gone to the Great water Serpent sect's side, even against the odds. How?! ....Judith smirk got even wider as she took a quick glancce at Jung du and retrieved her hammer. She had scored the first elimination for her team, as a captain that was one of the best things she could do to uplift her team's spirit."Damnit" Sao gang muttered as he dodged an icy blue knife that was thrown his way. Even though he was battling someone, his m
"Wonderful" Harith's eyes shone with a light he'd never shown before. He had just seen a technique, a move that was mine blowing. A game changing power infact. This was the thing alice had relied on to take him by surprise and then she called him weak after. She had repelled a sure hit attack right back to the user... it was something Harith could very much use if he ever got his hands on it. ..... *Boom* The ice on the floor shattered into pieces as Layla crash on it. But without wasting time sulking on the icy floor, Layla swallowed her pain and got right up. With a heavy jump she flew upwards, flinging herself towards Baxia and grabbing him by the neck. Baxia had a face filled with irritation..These four were hell bent on stopping him from making his move. And they knew they couldn't win in a fair fight so they were trying to stop him from achieving victory, at least this way. Baxia didn't think Layla would ever let go of him but still... he couldn't afford to t
Harith wheezed and gasped for air as he tried to take Alice's leg away from his chest but it was to no avail. The earlier attack had really weakened him. He didn't have the slightest idea of what happened. First he had made an attack and successfully predicted that Alice would dodge it, and then he made a backup attack-One that was guaranteed to hit. But as soon as he made the attack he was struck...What the fuck was going on! "I expected more" Alice clicked her tongue, the candy in her mouth dancing around. With a rise of her arms she lifted up the scythe and brought it down with all her power! *Crack!* As soon as Alice lifted up the scythe and exposed her face, a punch came crashing into her. The punch was so devastating it dislocated Alice's jaw. Alice's eyes turned and she staggered backwards, struggling to even keep hold of her scythe. *Bang!* Before Alice could recover from the first punch, another one came in. This time right to the temple. Never in her life had alice fe
"Stop him!" Layla shouted as she rushed towards Baxia, leaving her opponent behind. She couldn't give a shit about who it was that she faced, all that was on her mind was protecting her sister from this monster of a guy. The raging flames sect students were more than surprised, three of their members had suddenly become free of fighting. The Great water serpent sect students they faced before had all retreated to go defend Judith. It was now Five versus Nine- The five being the remaining members of the Great water Serpent, and the Nine being the Members of the great water serpent sect without Baxia. Harith, though, wasn't as fortunate at the rest. The Petite girl with ponytails and a candy in her mouth still refused to leave Harith. Harith was frustrated, he had only met this girl once-Which was the during the time the raging flames sect first fought the great water serpent sect in the poking rounds. And even then, their encounter was short. But now, why
Outside the circleThe Great water serpent sect's side was so quiet that if one dropped a pin in the midst of them, they would hear it. The students in the circle were among the strongest of the sect, and Judith was the second strongest....second only to the sect master's daughter. But still- Baxia had knocked her out cold in one punch like it was second nature. And he just Knocked out another one of the students! Elder Jang had a smile on his face. He knew who Baxia was. Baxia couldn't accept any form of defeat without retaliating, even at the cost of his life. Although this trait made taking stupid decisions common for Baxia, this time, elder Jang was going to put the trait to good use.
