I struggled out of the building, trying to put on my heels while I walked to the waiting car. The door was held open for me by one of his guards.

'Thank you' I mouthed before hopping into it.

I caught a glimpse of him. He was busy on his tablet, made no move to acknowledge my presence. An act I also reciprocated. We'd agree to not do whatever that'll make us uncomfortable, so the no talking attitude must be one of those fulfillment. That's what I concluded at. The engine revved and we were being driven to our destination. However, the silence that ensued between the both of us was awkward. At the hospital that day, I eventually agreed to follow him to his family dinner to save him from his father. His sister had appreciated in the same vein, also promised to be nicer.

'Thank you for doing this' his deep, smoldering voice rang in my ears.

I smiled and gave a curt nod. 'You're welcome'
