Tension

We sat across each other, the atmosphere charged and I was certain I'm not the only one feeling that. Neither of us was willing to touch the feast of meal laid out on the table. Instead we sat in complete silence. The silence was heavy, almost weighing down my shoulders. I tucked a stubborn strand of my hair beneath my ear the umpteenth time, annoyed that it wouldn't stay in place. I felt his intense glare on me which made me become aware of myself. My body tingled when I sensed perspiration grinding down my chest onto my cleavage. His eyes followed. I shifted in my seat, Heaved a last deep sigh then broke the silence.

'You should eat something instead of ogling... at me.' I grabbed a fork to stab a piece of fish ruthlessly.

'I don't think I want to stop ogling.. if that's what you now call a mere, harmless stare' Sarcasm laced his words.
