Chapter 10
“You all are horrible, Abigail is no better than any of you. If speaking even, she learns from the best.”Lorraine had voiced out in anger, the least her family could do is just give her husband a chance. A chance to prove himself different, a chance to prove them wrong. That’s all she asked for, all she truly needed from them to give to her and her husband. But why wouldn’t they do that, why would they keep degrading him at any given moment? Can’t they look at the positive side of things? Is it that hard for them to do.“Lorraine-““No! Not a word from any of you. Not a single word.” Her index shot up, cutting the words that were too come out of Charlotte’s mouth short. She lowered her eyes in anger, traveling round the room with hate and disdain emitting strongly from her gaze.“This same man treated my face, made me look this beautiful, when it was you all that originally invented that ugly look. Or have you all forgotten all the horrible things you all did to me? The harsh words, the unnecessary hitting? Have you all forgotten? Are you all that damned or jinxed not to see my happiness? Huh?”Lorraine had moved from where she was standing and to the center of them all. Her eyes blazing with anger as she addressed them all.“Lorraine we won’t have you disrespect us like that!” Oscar stood up, calling her niece’s action out.Hearing that Lorraine turned, diverting her full attention to Oscar who confronted her. “Why? Have you all ever show me respect? Respect is said to be reciprocal isn’t it? But all you guys have ever done is disrespect me, but I call your actions out today, and I become the bad guy.” She laughed sarcastically, nodding her head sideways and her arm slicing dramatically through the air.“Abigail was here, she called him dumb,” Lorraine pointed at Vance, “But I, I spoke now, speaking out loud to you all about my feelings, and it’s disrespectful, whereas my dear cousin, called her dear uncle right here a dumbass, what should that be called? An act of dignity or a title that depicts honor?” Lorraine spoke out with anger, and sarcasm backing up her each statement.Everyone couldn’t speak, or find a suitable response to what she said. Digesting in what Lorraine said, they knew she was right. What does it take for them to apologize and realize their mistake? But instead they chose to be ignorant about it and stay mute.“I don’t know if this is a family, or just a group of people related by greed and possess the same narcissistic behavior.” As the words came out of her lips, a naturally enhanced shocking gasp fell down everyone’s lips as the words pierced their ears deeply.Lorraine waited for no response or any confrontation from anyone as she ignite her legs, walking out of their midst with everyone’s gaze following her out. Oscar who was still on his feet sat back down. With how awed and speechless everyone seemed, perhaps Lorraine’s words had gotten beneath their cold facade now, making them all rethink all of their actions perhaps. In the Wilson’s Mansion. At Richard Wilson’s office, the young master. He sat there relaxed on his chair, a glass of champagne in his hand as he took his time before taking a sloppy sip, he gazed into nothing with negative emotions eating up his face.He stared into the space of his office with anger, mixed with vengeance, his thought dribbling about his encounter with that man. He threatened him and he was going to make sure those threats came to pass.He wouldn’t back down without a fight, there was a reason to why he’s one of the most feared young men in EastHill, a reason to why he’s one of the powerful young men in EastHill. He rubbed his finger, the one he had twisted the other night, a white bandage wrapped around it. That fueled his heart for revenge the more, he ridiculed him.Although his father told him not to try anything, not to do anything until the Dragon General who is said to be coming to be back. His father wanted him out of any trouble, because he doesn’t know who and who isn’t associated with the Dragon General. So when he arrived, they do there digging, and can their life normal if they want to. A knock came landing on his door, interrupting his dark thought of avenging his honor that was derided by Avon.“Can I come in young master?” A voice questioned, from outside the door asking for permission into Richard’s office.“You may.” He retorted, composing himself well and deleting his appearance that hint on his actions moment from now.The latter opened the door walking in, upon seeing the face of who walked in, Richard’s hidden demeanor flaunted out.“What do you have?” He questioned, his tone drenched in passion for chaos that drags nothing but revenge.“The man you told me to search about, after much digging, we found nothing about him. Except that he was a retired soldier, one that doesn’t really have a background.” His response was shaky, fixing his trembling gaze on the ground so as not to attract an unwanted attack from his temperamental boss.“What do you mean he doesn’t have a background?”“Young master, we searched and searched, there was nothing tangible gotten out from him. Except that he’s a retired soldier, aside that nothing else is known about him.” He gave another response, avoiding his master’s fiery gaze at all cost.In his present condition, it could cost him a day or more in the hospital if he doesn’t watch his words. He needs to be careful and well contorted.“What do you call his name again?”“Avon Cadensky.”“Find out where he lives, his relatives, his family and get them all. I want them on their feet, apologizing to me in exchange for their lives. Do it now!” He said in a shout, his face squeezed shut in anger as he yelled at his personal assistant. He jerked backwards at the sudden burst out, without wasting any second he scurried out of the room, out of the office. His expression quickly falling into despair. What has he gotten himself into? The man he’s tasked to find is one hell of a ghost in human form. Who could be?Those thoughts dabbled in his head as he stride back to where he came from.Chapter 11 Decorative lights and illuminants lit up the extravagant mansion of the Dragon’s General. The hall was crowded with high class citizens of EastHill conversing with one another in such a classy manner. Waiters walked around with trays filled with glasses of champagne, whiskey, red wine, or expensive sort of drinks. Maids are also on standby, Incase the guests needed their help or their attention. Everything was neatly set and stunningly in order. The party was going smoothly. At different corners was the Hales family distributed and discussing with a member of the Great Five Families. “I heard your daughter, Lorraine is now the most prettiest lady in EastHill?” A woman had asked Charlotte, a woman from the Stones Clan. “Yes,” Charlotte responded in a mild tone. Not really sure why she was asking, she had talked about her family getting in deal with theirs, so she’s quite befuddled on why she’s asking about her daughter, or the kind of answer she’s about to give to he
Chapter 12 Back at the party. Just outside the villa. A taxi cab drove in the compound parking at a central spot for his passenger to get down, the door opened with a beautiful girl clad in a dimly bright crystal gown that had a tiny strap hanging around its shoulder, the length of the gown flowing downward to wiping the floor behind her body, with her feet stick perfectly into a golden mid-high heels. Up her left thigh was a slit running down from there, and held in her palm and clinging to her thigh was a small golden purse as well. It was Lorraine, looking radiant as ever as she walked steadily to the entrance of Avon’s villa. Her hair was up in a messy bun, with a nude light makeup smeared on her face, her lips were clothed in a pink glossy lipstick bringing out more of her heart shaped lips. She truly rocked the whole being beautiful with her majestic appearance. She stood still in silence, her lips hung slightly downwards as she stared at the mansion in front of her. She t
Chapter 13 Lorraine eyes were shut tightly embracing the pain of the man’s strong grip squeezing her shoulder. She made a move, trying to get out of his hold but he only strengthened his curb on her instead of releasing her or letting her go. Opening back her eyes, a new courage from nowhere clothed Lorraine’s expression as she shot a kick up in between Richard’s thigh. He moved back at once grabbing his crotch as he bent down in pain. Lorraine took the initiative in moving closer and sending two more punches to his spine, before curving her elbow and touching her attack up, she bent close to him, her head above his ear. “Stay away from me.” She whispered in a threatening dark voice. Standing up and walking away from him. She saw the members of her family gathered around a table and all looking droopy, sitting down with their faces resting on their palm. She knew at once that their night isn’t going according to their plan. Lorraine wanted to go up to them, asked them what went w
Chapter 14 Avon arrived back at his mansion, late already to the ongoing party. The once crowded mansion already scanty. The cars parked out in his compound all gone. That was his plan, until he finish his mission of killing those that killed his family. No one will know what he looks like, no one will be able to recognize him. He got down from the car, arranging immediately for the lady he brought home with her to be settled down and taken care of. Passing through the foyer he saw Lorraine sitting down on the couch hugging herself with her head rested on the couch’s headboard. He immediately went to her, getting to her he met her already asleep, her hand clinging tightly to her purse, and her face laying up with her eyes closed. He stared at her beautiful features with admiration, a smile appearing on his lips as he appreciated her ethereal physiques. After awhile he bent down, proceeding into carrying her up and scooping her in his arms, in bridal style. The process jerking Lo
Chapter 15 Back at the Hales’s Villa, the same night. Everyone was at the sitting room, discussing about the party’s outcome, with Grandfather Lennox present and listening to them narrate their situation to him. “So all of them wanted Lorraine in exchange for a deal with them right?” Lennox asked, in conclusion to all they’ve been saying. “Yes,” Vance nodded his head positively, answering for them all. Lennox went quiet, his index lifting up to his chin as he drown himself in his thought, trying to think of a way to solve all this. There’s no way Lorraine could possible get married to four families, so he has to think of another way to get them with him.Oscar and Royce exchanged glances, before Oscar decided to speak up, “We developed an idea,” he said, having Lennox’s attention with his gaze snapped at him. “We know pretty well that Lorraine isn’t ready to divorce Avon, that no matter how we try to convince her she’s never going to listen or leave him. However, she can dance t
Chapter 16 Charlotte Allen Hales, she was just twenty years old then when she met Jason Hales, the actual deceased first born of the Hales family. They fell in love so quickly it wasn’t long they got together, it was two years after their marriage when they both welcomed Lorraine, and three more years later she discovered her husband was suffering from blood cancer, it has gotten to the last stage and he couldn’t be saved and so he lost his life battling it. Since then her value to the family was shortened and ignored, she was once treated like a queen, like an egg, but ever since Jason died and Lorraine was officially hated by all, she was treated differently. She tried to gain back their love, playing to all their tunes, hating her own daughter and treating her the same way the whole family treated her, joining the family business and doing everything in her small power to make it grow, but still she wasn’t noticed like before, she was still shunned. But when her daughter return
Chapter 17Avon was speechless, his face doused in shock, wondering how an earthly human being could go through all this and still be alive. Avon couldn’t reply her question, after listening to her life story rather than an explanation, he was too shocked to speak. That was too traumatic. He knew that.“I need to go.” She said after much silence, gently getting up from the bed and sliding her feet into the laying slippers. “No!” Avon stood up also, standing in front of her. “I will take you in, I will protect you from him and make sure he get what he deserves for what he did to you. You’ll stay with me from now on, I will help you if only you want my help. I won’t force you, but I will let you know that dying isn’t the option now that you met me.” Avon said to her, sounding as much as assuring he could sound. “Can you tell me your name?” Avon requested. “I’m Kory, Kory Anders.” She answered, in a mild tone while sitting back down. “I promise you Kory, you’ll have a good life now
Chapter 18 Everyone gazed at Charlotte with their faces curtained with shock, this was unlike Charlotte, Infact this wasn’t Charlotte at all. They’ve never seen her this sassy or arch in nature.“What got into you this morning?” Lennox questioned, disbelief edging out on his voice, and his eyes clouded with amusement. “She looks different.” Oscar said also, looking at Charlotte with the same eyes. “She is different and nothing got into me, except the real me finally surfacing.” Charlotte replied them in a nonchalant manner, her gaze focused on her meal rather than them. “Oh and grandpa!” She called suddenly, looking up at Lennox. Lennox answered, looking at her with the face that says “Go on with what you have to say”, “The three of them are planning to kill Avon behind your back, they believe doing that will make you praise them.” She said, smiling at the end of her statement, and returning her gaze back to her meal. Not caring to see the reactions of those she had just spilled
