I glanced at them, five ignorant men engrossed in their card game, oblivious to their belongings, causing me to have to wait for them, which hurt my feelings. It was not okay to treat people like this. Did I need to toss all their belongings? Sure, they would likely be angry, but just so I could happily hit them one by one and force them to kneel before me?

Making them kiss this king foot would have been satisfying too. Transforming them into my personal errand runners, fetching anything I desired from the cafeteria to the city, seemed appealing.

Yet, I realized that standing out like a nail invited the hammer's blow, and being too outstanding would only lead to more problems. I had more important tasks at hand than wasting time playing schoolyard games with these people.

Interrupted from my reverie, a voice called out, jarring me from my thoughts. “Hey, I am talking to you,” one of the boys demanded, his tone laced with impatience, accusing me of ignorance. “Are you stupid?”
