Chapter Fourteen

Mike's head throbbed as he slowly regained consciousness. The room spun around him, and he struggled to focus his blurry vision. With a groan, he pushed himself up, his body aching from the impact that had knocked him out.

"Shit," he muttered, his voice barely a whisper. Panic surged through him as he scanned the room, his eyes widening in disbelief. Mandy was nowhere to be seen, and neither was Reed. Dread settled in his chest like a heavy weight as he realized the gravity of the situation. He had failed. Walker would be furious.

Mike's mind raced, trying to piece together what had happened. He had been so close to finishing Reed off, but something had gone wrong. He cursed himself for letting his guard down, for underestimating the danger that Reed posed. Now, not only had he lost his chance to eliminate the threat, but Mandy was missing too.
