Chapter Twenty

Reed put a stop to the car as they were safe and away from any sign of danger.

He looked at his mother, who was sitting next to him, clutching her arm.

She looked pale and weak, but relieved.

"You're bleeding," Margie told her son, pointing at his forehead.

"Nah, I'm okay, the bleeding will stop," Reed said, wiping the blood with his sleeve.

He didn't want to worry her more than she already was.

He had just rescued her from Walker's clutches, and he knew she had been through a lot.

They both sat inside the car, panting, trying to calm down.

Reed glanced at the rearview mirror, making sure no one was following them. He had managed to evade Walker's men, but he knew they wouldn't give up so easily.

He had to find a safe place to hide, and fast.

He turned to his mother, who was looking at him with a mix of gratitude and fear.

He felt a surge of anger and curiosity, and he decided to bring up the topic that had been bothering him for a long time.

"Why did you go out from the hospital?" he
