Chapter Nineteen

Reed and his mom short victory escape was short lived as walker's men pursued them in their own car, Reed glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the black SUV gaining on them.

He gripped the steering wheel and pressed the gas pedal, hoping to outrun Walker's men.

He had just rescued his mom, Margie, from Walker's compound, where she had been held captive for months.

They had barely made it out alive, and now they had to face another obstacle.

"Mom, are you okay?" Reed asked, his voice strained.

"I'm fine, son. Just keep driving," Margie said, her eyes wide with fear. She looked at the wound on Reed's arm, where a bullet had grazed him.

She felt a surge of anger and guilt. She blamed herself for getting him into this mess.

She had been working as an undercover agent for the FBI, infiltrating Walker's criminal organization. But she had been exposed and captured, and Reed had come to save her.
